This awards show in its original incarnation was very very funny Owen Hart was hilarious in his acceptance speech rip... Love the time and effort you put into making these videos for us and teaching us stuff we didn't know... Best wrestling channel on youtube

I always have and always will view the iconic '97 Slammy Awards as the definitive climax to The New Generation, subsequently I like to consider Wrestlemania 13 WWE's beginning for The Attitude Era.
You see these look like a lot of entertainment, something today's creative are seemingly lacking. That second one where Vince does his routine, is one of the best productions WWF has ever done, especially when Macho man gets on the trumpet. This would never fly today because the overpaid, un-entertaining performers today, would be unable to make fun of themselves. Guys like Regal, Santino Marella and Mankind would have been ideal for this type of show!

Bret Hart would have done very well if they had Slammy Award shows for 1992 and 1993. He won 1993 WWF Superstar of the Year. I was surprised that he didn't get more awards in 1994 and 1996, since he was WWF champion when the 1996 one took place.

i have to disagree with you, i think the HBK Tell me a lie music video was brilliant and to add context to it, it was made when After HBK Was injured and he had to give up the ic belt. now iam not sure if it was show straight after he gave up the ic belt or when Owen kayfabe knocked him out on an episode of raw and he was off till his return at the 96 Royal Rumble. and it was much better the B.Harts Video.
