Wow! I stumbled upon this video titled "lawnmower" and I'm thrilled! As someone who has been searching high and low for a lawnmower that doesn't require perimeter wires, I am so grateful for this find. The Segway Navimow robotic lawnmower seems like the perfect solution. Its convenience and efficiency have won me over. I highly recommend giving it a try!
Does one need a reel mower? YES!! A push manual reel mover for a small lawn gives you a great looking lawn and, because you are expending energy pushing the mower you will star to look great! 😎
I would love to see a quick video of the lawn at your old house and see how the new owners are doing with the lawn that you had created. I'm guessing that it doesn't look as good anymore. Maybe do a "drive by" in the neighborhood.
Doesn't matter what I have, it hasn't rained in a month. I have the shortest well kept grass on earth. *Edit:* hasn't stopped raining for 40 days and 40 nights. Grass came back and is fuller than ever
@Christopher C going outside at this point is dangerous, our air quality levels are worse than India this week because of the wildfires. Finally getting our first rain in over a month.
With my gas mower, i hate mowing. With my $80 amazon reel mower, I mow everyday and love every second. I've got my St. Augustine trained down to 3/4in. It only took one summer. I look out now and I have a golf course as a lawn. No need to spend anymore than $80 and some elbow grease. I finally feel alive. Reel mowing literally saved my life.
Pretty cool mower. In Ohio here no rain for some time now hopefully to get some this evening. Everyone in the neighborhood has cut their lawns short to kill them . Ours is still green sitting at 5 inches tall. Last time I cut was over a week ago and didn’t even drop the deck on the zero turn to try to save it. So far it’s working hope for this rain. 🙏
Absolutely love the look it gives and the alternative to a reel mower! I have a classic manual reel mower currently and have been looking into a powered reel mower but darn this might have got me! I would love to know other brands that have a similar mowers like this if anyone knows any!
Interesting concept! I thought about trying reel mowing, but the price for one is pretty expensive when looking at powered. I've got a zero-turn with a real nice roller on it that I use now for my acre, but wanted to experiment with a small section.
It's been a while since I've seen your videos...glad to see the new place...now you don't have to see everyone wondering who the crazy lawn guy is or what he is up to
Bought a reel mower about a month ago. I couldn’t stand it after the first mow. The second mow I liked it a bit more, but still think I hate it. Lol The biggest issue is it misses so many spots and you have to go over it several times. Here’s a tip if you do buy one; use some wd-40 on the blades.
Wow Ryan, the yard is coming in really nicely!! I've never seen this mower before, it looks like it does a really good job! I think I'll stick with my commercial Honda with a stripper and my California reel mower, I'm getting really good results with this two mowers!! Take care and don't work too hard out there on the Westberry Ranch!
It's a single roller that's not split but very easy to turn around. I think any of the mowers with rollers could struggle on hills with traction but not completely sure.
You could even vary your walking and literally step on every part of the lawn walk across it to get to a corner to weed wack or pull weeds rake up a pile of grass or just inspect your cut and how the lawn feels
Hi Ryan! I have a question. How can I help my lawn bounce back from high traffic? I have fairway crested wheatgrass, and sandy soil. I live on an acreage where I have limited options to get my subcompact tractor to the backyard. Sandy soil, a type of grass that can't tolerate a lot of traffic, and limited options for routes isn't an ideal situation. Typically when I do have to drive the tractor on the lawn it is back and forth a couple times. I try not to drive the exact same path, sometimes I have to. If you have any tips I would greatly appreciate it! Your new property is looking amazing. I especially love Kelsey's butler's pantry!
I see the advantage. a reel mower does not have the suction, and by constantly rolling the grass flat, you need to monthly verticut (not scarify, but a gentle cut), to get the gras back growing up. So this is maybe not the crisp cutting, but it sucks the gras up, before cutting, so how does it score in general compared to a reel mower? We all know that you can't manage your grass with a reel mower alone, we always need to have some mower with suction and bagging from time to time So maybe my wife likes this as a total package
Can you figure a way to add any more down force on the rollers? That would be about all you can do. Also if your grass is a couple different varieties of grass types or if it's not particularly thick it just won't stripe well.
@@jsee2385 I have some weights I can place on the back. I have typical northeast grass. Rye, fescue, Kentucky. Currently keeping it tall at 4in. Not sure what else I can do. It's not rollers but a brush type striping kit.
@besttech oh ok. Yeah I've seen the bristle type of strippers. I tried that with a thick piece of berber carpet mounted on my mower so it was perpendicular to the turff dragging hard against ground...and it did nothing basically. About all you can do, again just try to make it push down harder so it really drags over and pushes the blade down so it can reflect/ shadow better. Then the bristles will just break down faster. Rollers are the way
For the love of God, I am over gas powered lawn tools. Also, it's the 21st century. Self leveling mower is not that difficult. Look at what the RC world has achieved. Love your work Ryan! Awesome videos.
Looks pretty cool, but my front yard's hilly up-and-down. And I think honestly the lack of the blade stop clutch is a deal breaker for me. Thumbs up video, though!
@@HOWIE396 ehh for a pretty much non load bearing slab that's bad. The fact that home owners like Ryan are convinced that's normal makes me sad. Try using rebar/mesh and fiber reinforced concrete. That crack is terrible and clearly not a minor temp crack.

Very cool! Glad to see other companies starting to make mowers like this for the US market.
What other companies make similar mowers to this one? I am digging the way it stripes and would love to look at other brands as well!

Love my masport. Tried hayter, toro and a few other brands but this beats them all for collecting, striping and great cut.
It’s a pretty cool bridge between rotary and reel
Good morning everyone!🌱☕️🌱. Ryan, your front yard looks amazing 👍

I have an electric rotary mower and I home built a roller that is roughly 30lbs and I couldn't be happier.
Damn, that grass looks really good.
That’s on the wishlist now!
Is the drive roller split? Hard to turn? Do you think it would climb hills? Seems like a well-built machine.
It's a single roller that's not split but very easy to turn around. I think any of the mowers with rollers could struggle on hills with traction but not completely sure.
What is that height of cut that you currently have and what would be the lowest
Hell yes yard looks 10 times better with a reel mower

You should try their reel mowers and give us a review
Holy cow. $1,750. That’s a shock but I’m just an amateur. I had a Snapper years ago that I loved, it was the toughest thing I ever bought in my life.
Hi Ryan, if possible can you show the density of your new rye, thanks
Yes.
Masport; once was a fine New Zealand-owned brand...Now German AL-KO owned.
I think a brush would be best brush out forward and cut when it springs back
Mate I'd put a cable tie on that handle so it keeps running 🇦🇺
You'd end up with some nice buzzed circles in the lawn wherever you stop :)
Any product suggestions for a striping kit on my JD X370 riding mower? I bought a JD striping kit but it's not really defined and rolled down.

Can you do an update review on this mower?
Can you mulch with this mower?
Looks pretty cool, but my front yard's hilly up-and-down. And I think honestly the lack of the blade stop clutch is a deal breaker for me.
Thumbs up video, though!
Wouldn’t just putting a piece of tape around that handle fix it? Prob don’t want to if anyone else ever uses your mower or kids are around
@Jared Baxter Good idea. Velcro tape would work. I've done that for my electric hedge trimmer! I'm still worried about the hills, though.
What is it with people and being lazy to pull a modern easy start mower? I just don't get the necessity...
Let it grow tall and thick!!! Then cut it back shorter and shorter😊
Found it......1/2" to 2 3/4"
You could get a Cali Trimmer for the price of that rotary!
And you'd have all the same reel mower issues I mentioned in the video.
Does Connor even have a awn anymore? Where is he?
WHat is the Height of cut RANGE....Hi ti LO????
Hey Moe! It's a hybrid.
How low will it mow?
1/2"
Do I see a Hudson Star in your near future?
Too much grass for that 🙂
The single rear roller is the Achilles heel of this mower. It should be a double.
Definitely needs a blade stop
You're getting another reel mower? I thought you already had the electric and gas ones. It better be a ride on mower.
Not a ride on
So sad seeing that crack in brand new concrete :(
I do not care for striping. I have a Toro 2007 Super Recycler is running and I do no maintenance on it .Toro's are INDESTRUCTIBLE!!
The crack on that new slab is rough. I'd ask about warranty.
There's 2 kinds of concrete. Concrete that isn't cracked, and concrete that isn't cracked yet lol. But I agree for sure that soon

Ok your website ?
Around the 4-5 minute mark it looks like some kind of liquid has leaked under the engine onto the frame???
Water from washing the mower
Cant get the code to work on the lawn stryper
I just went to double check and it should be working so try again and let me know if you see any issues. Thanks!
The distributor, Seago in north Carolina says its currently unavailable.
Not to my knowledge which we speak with them often
Please let them know then as their website shows not available.

They will never give a clean cut no matter how sharp the blades are.interesting concept but it’s kind of like the poor man’s sports car.
Trying to justify a $1600 to my wife...
Four hundred dollar lawn mower with a thousand dollar roller 😬😬😬
For $1700 might as well buy a reel mower.
