I grew up in Daly City I went to JFK for elementary and graduated Jeff in 09. My family still lives near hillside park. For me growing up there was awesome but now having a family of my own I can’t justify the financial struggle it would take for me to live there. Also for growing up somewhere so crowded, I’ve always craved space and that’s not happening there. So I moved somewhere with more breathing room. Food there is amazing and Serramonte mall is great so my family and amenities are the things that I miss.
Lived in Daly City most of my life and i m9ved to south city so not far at all. My pro: Car recommended but not required. If you dont have a car its not that hard hopping on public transit. The SamTrans system is really robust and has a lot of route opinions and are generally frequant for popular places and times like rush hour. Con: Them hills are similar to sf! Because Daly City isnt in sf doesnt mean the landscape instantly changes. If youre a walker like me or using public transit and need to walk to your destination after the bus or train, be prepared to walk up a hill or climb some stairs. I use to walk from my house in the old mission to westmoor high school which is over an hour long, i have ADHD and it helped, and towards the end when i reach school my lungs are burning and my legs were pure jelleton. Overall love the city! Either living in or visiting it, youll enjoy yourself
Lived near the Single water tower Skyline drive. Fog, Fog is the best. I crave for the thick Fog of my youth. The Beach side Cliffs of Daly City were my play ground!!
I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN DALY CITY, 114 EAST VISTA AVE, TO BE EXACT, LOVED GROWING UP THERE, SO CLOSE TO S.F. LIVED THERE THE FIRST 220 YERS OF MY LIFE TILL I WAS DRAFTED INTO THE ARMY, VERY COLD MOST OF THE TIME, FOGGY MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. I LIVE IN ORANGE COUNTY, SOUTHERN CA, I WOULDN'T WANT TO GO BACK THERE TO LIVE NOW. JUST MY OPINION. THE WEATHER HERE IN ORANGE COUNTY IS 100% BETTER THAN DALY CITY. BUT I WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SOFT SPOT IN MY HEART FOR OLE DALY CITY.
Great video! I'm a filmmaker who grew up in Daly City right next to Fil-Am. I want to shoot a short film there but was wondering if the community could recommend what months in the year are the most foggy? I'd love to capture the Daly City fog at its thickest!
I lived in Daly City from 1964-1986 on westmoor ave went to westmoor high 1974-79 in 1986 I decided to get the hell out of there too cold too foggy and a little depressing moved to central contra costa county. Where the summers are real the quality of life out here is so much nicer but the summers are brutal
Daly City has most of the drawbacks of a relatively high density neighborhood like Sunset but almost none of the advantages. The housing is packed together like Intown housing but somehow there's still strip malls and unwalkable neighborhoods. Also there's almost none of the charm of either the City or of a smaller peninsula town. I really don't understand why Daly City was made this way. It could've been an extension of how San Francisco was developed but instead it's more a high density commuter town.
If a person wanted to just rent a room(with bathroom) or a studio in Daly City or very near by, do you think that is possible? How much should I expect to pay?
I love the fog there! Can you review 5 restaurants in Daly City? Two Mex and 3 Asian. Or just review your favorite restaurants in or near Daly City thank you very much! 🐠🌎 Is there any place to get frog 🐸🐸🐸 legs 🦵🦵🦵🦵?
@@bayareawilson I'm glad you like my suggestions but will you or did you make any videos? In Florida many years ago I enjoyed frog legs and wish I could find some here in Delaware. I have fond memories of Daly City and hope to return one of these days! Consider yourself fortunate.
No. They can’t afford to live in Daly City. Daly City homes has gone from the $300-400K range to $1M+ in the last 30yrs. Filipinos has shitty earning/saving potential. They all work at the airport and prefer to spend their money on gaudy hip hop jewelries and aftermarket car parts for their Honda civics. You know it’s true.
LOL! That’s so racist but whatever. There used to be more black folks in Daly City. All my friends back in elementary school were either black or Filipinos that thought they were black.

Born and raised in Daly City in the 60's it was clean, safe, foggy. Went to Vista Mar, Ben Franklin, Westmoor HS.
Love this city!
Me too!
I like Daly City, but SF(retail) is now vacant, see videos by Metal Leo. Dumpy. Fog is my favorite reason, but rent is insane. Vote Republican
Damn!! I love that quality of your videos!! 👌🎥📷

I love driving to Daly city on hot summer days
Me too. Karl the natural AC
So like 3 days a year

Dude that water tower always confused me whenever I drove to Skyline. Like what are those for? If we need them, why do we only have one?

Year round 😂. Usually early morning and sun down. On colder days the sun doesn’t peek out

There’s definitely some truth to this.
With affordability in mind, there are limited alternatives without moving far.
A very sizable Pinoy community in that area. Filipinos brag about being law-abiding citizens who don't breach the laws where they live.
Make Daly City old school again.
If a person wanted to just rent a room(with bathroom) or a studio in Daly City or very near by, do you think that is possible? How much should I expect to pay?
absoultely possible. a studio may be around $1,750+/-. rooms in shared homes tend to be around $900-1000/mo
@@bayareawilson thanks for your answer and sorry it took so long for my reply I just found your response today July 17th, 🌴🍄

Alguien sabe de algún trabajo en ese lugar
Yeah, especially a job that’s going to get you a 1.2M house?
How tf can anyone afford to live there?
Little Manila

Daly city is pretty safe to live since black population is pretty low here
