    Great Stuff Thanx Joe... I think I will have to shorten most of my ropes... it makes no sence to have all that extra sheet in the Boat or dragging behind in the water or even caught around my feet while changing sides... Good Winter Project!

    What length mainsheet are you running?

    • @JoyriderTV
      @JoyriderTV  3 года назад

      10m - but it is a matter of preference - if you're not block to block a lot of the time that length would seem to short. I should refer to this one: ruclips.net/video/DfwQq9a-cBw/видео.html

      @@JoyriderTV I am the one who should say thank's. Pretty much all I have learned about cat sailing comes from your incredible multitude of videos and a few weeks in Vassiliki. Not only that but you continue to inspire us all with new videos, speed sticks, show us your cat and more. I am eternally grateful for all this and hope you will have a great winter, chilling out and charging the batteries for spring. I'll be back like Arnold said in a movie.

    Hi Joe, is your mainsheet tied into the traveller to be 1 continuous line and secondly, what your suggested length for a mainsheet? Same as Murray’s suggests?

    • @JoyriderTV
      @JoyriderTV  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, it's continuous.
      I'd start at 11m and see how that works for you - you certainly wouldn't need any longer than that.

    I now have an AMF TRAC16 which is comparable to a Hobiecat. But I was looking for more of a beginners tutorial on how to set up a 16' cat which didn't come with a Genoa. Your channel doesn't seem to be for beginners at all.

    • @electro71

    • @samtute2586

      @@electro71 It really depends how much you're sheeting in

    • @electro71
      @electro71 3 года назад

      @@samtute2586 well, my understanding is that I should be able to sheet in block to block..

    • @JoyriderTV
      @JoyriderTV  3 года назад

      Yes, it's 10 meters but as Sam says below it does depend on if you're sheeting block to block.
      If your intention is to get it in fully but you're not able to then you'll find 10 too short.
      Well worth checking out the find your mainsheet length video again ruclips.net/video/DfwQq9a-cBw/видео.html and don't cut it all off in one go!

    • @JoyriderTV
      @JoyriderTV  3 года назад +2

      You can experiment without cutting by pulling more through for the traveller to shorten the rope before you commit to a length - then if it is too short you can attach a separate traveller line.

    • @JoyriderTV

      Yes, it's because i could put the helm trap line totally out of the way - i think it makes it easier and less cluttered when solo.
