Silly question from a total novice. I know nothing about electrics. How do I know whether a device to charge is AC or DC? is there a rule of thumb or is it as simple as looking on the device to be charged?
Very informative. I have yet to find a video of a long-term Jackery unit. Much of the poor ratings say that units held in a closet for couple of years are often dead and cant be recharged. I have the explorer 500 for 6 months but want to uograde.
Just picked this up at Expo West and love it! Had to get a $10 adapter to use my older jackery 100w solar panels, but that’s no big deal. First test ran our IceCo dual zone at 34/0 for 50 hrs. and still had 30% left. Fast charging is really nice as well. Bottom line is Love It👌👍

Great video, it was really helpful. I just bought a Bluetti AC70 that I'm using to power a Dometic CFX3 45 and I want to be able to charge it quicker in the jeep. Have you ever tried using one of the Bestek pure sine wave DC 12V to 110V AC inverters that plug into the cigarette ports? I'm not ready to hard wire anything and it seems like a good workaround but I don't see too many people talking about them for this purpose. Thanks
I haven’t. I believe most 12v ports are only 10 amps, so you’d only max out at 120 watts. Which is what you can get charging directly with a cigarette style charging cable without any additional box.
@@JustinBMcBride I should have mentioned the one I was looking at is a 300W continuous DC to AC power inverter but thanks for the quick response. I'm guessing the Rivian won't have this issue!?

That’s a pretty darn efficient fridge to get two days out of it at dual zone temps!
@@JustinBMcBride the APL55 is a great fridge. I was blown away at how long the 1000v2 held its own!
Around how many watts did you use a day on the fridge ?
Just got this one! Can’t wait to use it and got the Solar Panels too
It’s a solid little unit.

@@brian_hamlett14 a solid start. These 1000wh have become the new 500wh. It’s nice seeing the price so much more manageable.
Congrats on adding to the family!
Thanks! It’s been a serious adjustment!

Hope they have updated the batteries. I know they were behind the curve for a while
They have - I think as of May 1st
Hey, you guys are friends again!
I was as surprised as anybody when they reached out!
Jackery is such a rip off compared to superior competing power stations out there.
