In this video we dive into what is arguably, the most complicated Gravity Falls code to crack! Not because it's hard, but because of how many steps you need to do in order to reach the final answer and the merchandise you need in order to do so!

I am absolutely floored that they made Tad Strange the fan-made version of Bill cipher completely canon and am absolutely blown away that nobody talks about it. I had no idea until this moment.
As a European who watched Gravity Falls in 2021 on Disney + for the first time… I feel a lot of pain.
Now that the box set is discontinued, Disney really should just dump the exclusives on Disney+ given it'll give fans new stuff to watch and probably reach it out to a wider audience than just Canada and the US. But of course, we all know logic and Disney go about as well as orange juice and toothpaste.
At least most of the exclusive stuff on the dvd stuff is on RUclips.
And here I was thinking I’d cracked every code in “Lost Legends.” Alex Hirsch may just be one of the most dedicated show runners I’ve ever come across. Seriously, the amount of work he put into this show before, during, and after its run is insane!
When I got my lost legends book I went over it with a fine toothed comb several times and found all the codes, but that Shmeb-you-unlocked one eluded me for a long time
I remember some ex friends talking about it for a while and we always were amazed at how complex the code was. I ended up honestly learning about it from others but it was fun to decode the other ciphers in LL.
Codes in Amphibia and Owl House:
While I haven't watched Amphibia, I'm well aware of its GF homage. I heard it had 2 Caesar ciphers 3 letters forward, giving us "Dipcifica 4 Lyfe" ('cause Braly was her redemption), and "There is a Soos in every dimension." (Where's TOH's?)
Owl House doing its acronyms from episode titles for A WITCH LOSES A TRUE WAY SEEK THE KEY FEAR THE LOCK (also the S2 is PAIN), and S3 both backwards and Thanks For Watching.
Then there's its equivalent of the Vigenere key, the runes giving us, TWO WITCHES TORN APART NOW ALONE TWO HEARTS OF STONE A CURSE OF FEATHERS AND MUD A BETRAYAL OF BLOOD SEETHING SEAS AND PUPPET STRINGS HE NO LONGER DREAMS OF KINGS AS ABOVE RUSH DARKENED SKIES AS BELOW HIS FATHER LIES. These runes' key in both a chalkboard in Ep 3 and other books early on. There maybe names for each rune as recited by the kindergarteners, but I'd have no idea which.. I read a fic called The Vee House where she learns them. Unlike GF swapping out a letter, the runes are a specific sound (homophones spelled the same) and functions like the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Having recently discovered it all while having a niche for phonics and letters. :)

I can’t believe I never knew about this! I knew about the website but not the crazy hidden bonus features and the way to crack the final codes. This show really is the gift that keeps on giving!
If you guys notice in the Crawlspace page, there is a reference to the Boiling Ilse on the next page in what seems to be its history, though it's cut off
Back when LL came out, I and a few other fans who were following Dana did mention it in reviews of the book, but it wasn't till after TOH went mainstream post Grom that more people started talking about it. Kinda cool to think we knew about it before TOH had even begun, lol. The summer of 2018 was just awesome :')

I was sorta the same. I was still pretty young when Gravity Falls was on so I never got into it till way after and now that I'm older I've come to appreciate so much about it that I didn't when I was younger. It's a great show with a timeless fandom.

Gonna be honest, after rewatching the series I came to this conclusion and felt so smart for figuring it out lol.

I think next time You should Probably talk the influence of Gravity falls codes in the decoding of runes in the owl house… what each first letter of every episodes spells…

In lost legends a grave say (Bill Lives)
I remember cracking this for the first time when lost legends came out! It was incredible, they put so much into these books. I only got into gravity falls in 2017 so after the show ended, but I've cracked nearly every code across the show and the books and other media. It got me way into cryptography and I love codes and cryptograms to this day.
You and me both. I got into GF in February 2017 and Lost Legends and the box set were the first major releases of merch and new content since then that I had the chance to be a part of. It was a great time and really led me down the Gravity Falls path I'm still basically on, lol.

Eh, it's debatable in that regard. I thought it was okay of a reward but I think there's a lot more they could have done with the website. Like, perhaps updates and additional info being added over the summer in 2018 would've been cool.
