    I just bought a spare battery that said ring doorbell 2nd generation but then I realized the battery doesn't even come out so why is sold for the 2nd generation doorbell?

  • @rjvagv1

    Sorry, Ring. Should of made this model with removable battery so your customers can have a backup to charge as your other models. Especially due to only installation for mine is on real Brick. No way to run wiring to it due to cosmetics around the door. Just saying. I really feel you should offer customers a trade up option (no charge) for this to your 3 or 3 pro!!!

    I bought a second battery and now find out I can’t use it!. What’s the point of having a camera that has to be taken off the wall to charge?.

      I agree. I didn't realize this is an internal non-removeable battery. I have previous model Ring with removeable the batteries, and I got htis one for the back door. I am very disappointed, to say the least.

      This new version really sucks!! I totally love the ring 2 that I have, that are both wireless and drop out batteries to put in fresh ones that are fully charged and waiting on standby to be needed. If people see you don’t have a camera up then that defeats the whole purpose of having a ring doorbell camera to begin with… To deter the criminals from trying to break in your place!!

    It would be helpful to have an illustration or explanation of some sort in the blue box with start up pamphlets that shows you how to remove the unit that comes already attached to the bracket. I can't be the only one that didn't know how as a first timer and it annoyed the hell outta me that there was no info on the removal until I found this video. I was going to just return this piece of chit if I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for making me feel stupid RING.

  • @pedro55rules

    So let me get this right. I gotta turn the breaker off again loosing all kinds of electronics in my house. Then take time to remove the wires on back. And after all that go back to put the breaker on again and recharge the damn camera ? Woah I didn't realize what I was getting myself into, I feel like a dumbass thinking I did everything right just to remove it all to recharge it. To finish the recharge would last for 4-6 hours, whoever in ring thought this was right should get fired. Some people most probably paid someone to get them install and then what ? Pay again to recharge it ? Some people are too old to even move around for long and that's why they need the camera because they are vulnerable.

  • @rohansabharwal8101
    @rohansabharwal8101 3 года назад +16

    This is fine to me and better than having to just pull the battery out and replace it because for the average person use it should last you anywhere from at least 45 days through 120 days depending again on the use. Suggest setting your motion to low if your door is in front of a road or a busy neighborhoodbecause then it might just activate the motion recording and waste battery but if you live in a quiet area where barley people pass by the front of your door, then just leave it at normal.

      Thank you for contacting us, neighbor! Being able to rely on the battery in your Ring to last and to charge is key when protecting your home and family. The battery on your Ring should charged within 4-8 hours on average depending on the USB socket it is plugged into. We recommend charging the battery using a wall block in an outlet instead of a computer or another device for the fastest charging. If the battery still won't charge fully within the provided timeframe, give our Community Support a call at 800-656-1918 for troubleshooting. We're available from 3 AM to 11 PM (PDT) 7 days a week and are always happy to help.
