Excited to watch this series! I've been interested in trying out some solo RPG games but am not sure how to approach them. This seems like it'll be very helpful.
Awesome, thanks! I'm expecting this campaign to be quite procedural, mostly fighting monsters, searching for traps and secret doors, hauling treasure back and forth. I enjoy more roleplay-based solo gaming as well though, I've done a lot of that on my blog that I linked to in the description.
Thank you for your work. I just bought DCC RPG, with a main goal to play solo on it. 🙂 And I find nuggets like your channel for inspiration. that's great. 🙂👍
I ran this for a group once, a long time ago. Coincidentally I was considering playing it solo as well, albeit with Swords & Wizardry or similar. Looking forward to seeing this! (And yes, Dyson uses “he/him”, you got it.)
This is very interesting! I will look into it more at a later stage, since I've just started playing BECMI solo, (thanks to WizardDeadloss). But I'll try and catch up!
Cool! Found a new solo player to watch. I LOVE the animated opening 😂!!! Never played DCC but have heard of it, so looking forward to the video. I’ll be watching these. Good job on making so many characters. On towards the adventure!
I play tested the game with Joseph Goodman before he published the game. It's a fun old school game. Definitely a meat grinder. The special dice are the biggest drawback for me. Wish he just used stander polyhedrons .
Uhm, actually… this is off to a great start! 👏😁 Subscribed! I can’t wait to see these hapless chaps meet horrible ends 😂 And their veritable zoo that they are bringing for no discernible reason just seems like a testament to their cluelessness. Looking forward to the next video!
I get that this is your 1st video, but I think you should get the camera closer to the table so we can see the pages better. I REALLY(!!!) like the fact that you do not feel the need to have your face take up screen space. THANK YOU! You have a good voice and your pronouncetion is good, which makes listening to you quite helpful. I am looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks! It's a huge nightmare trying to shoot overhead video, I have to get a balance between making it look good, ensuring everything's visible onscreen, and also keep the editing time to a minimum. I'll experiment with different zoom levels and try to make it a bit easier to see things.
Played DCC solo with the adventure Portal Under the Stars, but found it not that fun to start with 20-25 0 level characters. I ended up only using like 5, and 1 of my 20-25 characters died. It was a nice adventure, but not fun trying to handle that many characters.
Yeah I'm finding the same thing. I started with 16 for this but it's quite hard keeping track of who's alive and who's dead during combat. Also this dungeon wasn't intended as a funnel adventure so you don't have all the crazy fun traps like the ones in Portal Under the Stars.

Perfect timing, have been looking into solo DCC so this will be a great help!
We can figure it out together 😃

@@Nyarkfunky glad it’s useful!
Looks like a fun playlist to watch. Thanks for sharing ;-)

Nice!
As a DM, I get many great ideas for setting up tables and random events from watching the solo people.
@@Gaming4ever-pd7jv that’s great! Thanks for watching :)
This is going to be great!!
I really enjoyed this, I’m looking forward to the next video!
Lawful, chaotic, and neutral were the standard three alignment array prior to advanced Dungeons & Dragons
Thanks, most of my D&D knowledge comes from playing Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights on PC so I'm more familiar with the good/neutral/evil ones :)

Great start and I subscribed to follow where you take this.
Cheers!
Awesome thanks. I just posted episode 2 :)

Thanks, glad you like it! I bought a better mic a few episodes in, so thanks for enduring the bad audio quality in the beginning :)

Yeah it’s weird needing so many dice to play one game. I have trouble recognising which is which!

Thanks! Yeah I'm looking forward to involving the animals in the gameplay somehow. Not sure things are going to work out too great for them though 😅
@@LoneHorizons I would be disappointed if it did 🤣 Good luck with the next episode!
Very neat playthrough!
Thanks!

that intro has me slayed! take my sub lol
I'm new to the solo dungeon crawl classics so thank you for doing this video!
Thanks! I'm hoping to do a new intro animation each time we start a new level of the dungeon. Glad you liked it :)

@@LoneHorizons I was surprised by how many of my group survived the traps.
