No. Not in the unnatural way that boats do with all their surface area and mechanical parts. There is no way you think its the same or even comparable, you have to be joking. The cost to keep invasive grass confined to a corner of our lake(totally different region from the one in this video) is insane. It's a force that we don't have the ability to overcome completely, and we can barely afford to mitigate the destruction. The threat wont stop even if we could 100% eliminate all current grass because our lake has multiple public accesses. Boaters aren't going to begin caring any time soon. It will be spreading thanks to humans traveling hundreds of miles with giant seed storing contraptions. You can be the kind of person who cares and works to undo or prevent invasive species destruction, or you can be like the liberal entitled faqs that think releasing foreign pets into the wild is "kind hearted". Sometimes I think you careless people are just as invasive as.
Only ever had to deal with that once in Maine, and I've probably fished close to 150 lakes. We ended up fishing a lake that was previously public, but the access point got sold to the local HOA due to vandalism. We drive by the launch, see the "No Trespassing" signs and then move on. About a week later, my dad calls a friend who has a cottage on this pond, because he knew how badly we wanted to fish it. The second we get there with our canoe, a lady from the HOA starts screaming at us, telling us that "her property line goes all the way to the road" and that "you can't bring outside boats here". We ignore her because we literally had permission and ALWAYS check our canoe for plants, and she ends up leaving us alone. Maine is very good with public access thankfully, and with the few ponds that are truly private, all you usually have to do is knock on a door or know somebody. I wish more states weren't so stuck up about fishermen trespassing, but I get the appeal of a private lake. And there's a difference between SNEAKING on and getting yelled at, versus actually having permission and STILL getting yelled at...
This may be the only law we have over you in the old country😂😂 You cannot get grief for trespassing in scotland you have the right to roam and camp anywhere as long as you leave the place the way you found it.
Don't get down about it I genuinely look forward to your videos and low key you're putting in hella work bro. Keep it coming!!! Your video's and Jay Siemens and Ayo and yak pak all you guys brighten people's days especially with the sun going down fast and it being cold AF in Canada rn.
I definitely want to see more of these type of videos and i was so glad to see the canoe sitting there and i was hoping u were gonna take it back out after they said u couldnt use ur own boats great video!
My uncle has lived on this lake for years and about 3 months ago he had some contractors redoing his retention wall and one of the workers asked if they could fish off his dock. He said yeah no problem and Ol' boy pulled out a 9 lber on a crappie jig in the 1st 20 minutes casting off his dock. I know my uncle hurt on the inside lol
I grew up with woods and farm fields all around my house with a deep quarry lake. We used to fish the lake all the time. The owner asked for 10 bucks to fish for the day. We paid eagerly. So many big fish in there. Double digit bass and catfish so big that divers went down in it one time and came right back up and got out and said they won't go back in because there are catfish down there as big as them! The owner getting up in age ended up selling it to a developer. The woods are gone, the lake is completely surrounded by a gated community of condos with no access at all anywhere. They even destroyed the boat ramp to build a sign. I looked at a couple places in there and as soon as I found out you can't fish in the lake or put a boat in it(not even a kayak), I broke off and decided not to go forward. It sucks when this happens...so many big fish and now it's not managed properly and is used as scenery...like it's some kinda model train layout. Glad you guys were able to get out and fish one of these types of lakes until you couldn't. Always gotta be a Karen to ruin the fun. Thanks for sharing guys! Hope all is well with yall!
That accent you did with that one bass was hilarious and whenever a karen approaches you like that lie yeah i live here oh wheres your stickers should be here in a few days bam lol
He does not own the lake he is just a homeowner with his big ass boat , That's why you should always say your grandpa lives there !!!! Or the next best thing is try to find someone that is friends and as been living there for a while !!!!!
I get what he is saying about invasive weeds see alot of California lakes that are that way if your boat is even wet they wont let you launch i live in Florida we got every weed in the world 😂 great video as always brother
Thought about doing this by my little brother's house out Williamsport pa dude got a sick ass lake stocked up with some hog fish but only way to fish it is by renting the airb&b lol
I have been at a cabin at a church camp for three years in a row for a week each time. There was two other people fishing there in like fifteen days of fishing. No motors allowed so I had to use a paddle boat The lake is filled full of stunted bass. Each year I picked one lure and used it for the whole time I was there
i've got a private lake in northern minnesota, over 50 acres. There are some good pike , bass and crappies in there and they never see any pressure. there is also a seperate smaller bog pond that has fish in it that are all crazy colors from the bog nutrients.
Mr. Karen said that homeowners can't profit off the lake. Well, every AirBnb on the lake is profiting off the lake. People rent those homes for the lake views. And every homeowner that sells their lakefront home is profiting off the lake. If I were Mr. Karen, I'd worry about why the bass are so few, small, and unhealthy.
hey man. As a guy who was the captain of his pee wee football team in up-state Kansas, I object!! Anyway, at least here in Kansas, I've found that in MOST private lakes, the fishing isn't better than the public lakes. In fact, it's usually worse. That may be due to the fact that in Kansas there are lots of public lakes, but very few private lakes. The state owns most of the lakes, so the very few lakes that are private, anglers with any kind of money buy up property fast, and the property values are over-inflated(though that's a different conversation). So most of these private lakes get more pressure than the public lakes(which inversely do not receive a ton of pressure due to the availability of public lakes coinciding with a state with a small population. The cat-fishing on private lakes though is really good. They don't hold the 80 lb monsters that some of the public lakes do, but they receive far less pressure. Other than a few guys catfishing off their docks here and there, most people who buy property on lakes for fishing purposes are doing it for the bass fishing, not the catfishing. Private suburban ponds though are a big difference. Those places are hit and miss. Sometimes they're great, if the majority of the people in the neighborhood are not anglers so the pond receives little pressure. People aren't generally buying those houses because they want to fish. They just want a pond to look at off their deck, but don't have $1 million+ to drop on a house. But all it takes is one guy in the neighborhood who fishes the damn pond every single day, for the fishing to drop off a cliff. Sometimes a suburban neighborhood pond will be great, then that one dummy moves into one of the houses and fishes the pond out within a year because he doesn't mix up his locations..
Im the guy in the video, i only confronted you because i didnt like your haircut ...how dare you call me a Karen.......just kidding jon b! Love your videos man! (Im bald so im jealous of anyone with a full head of hair 😂)
lol it would had done less harm for that man to mind his own damn business , he seen you as a threat he knows your the master and will catch the only 2 5lbers in there
It happens to me fishing in the Gulf of Mexico here in Florida. Bottom line is Rich People think they own all the water around there places. Even the fish in it. God Bless such nice people. 🙌👍
This is such a uniquely American phenomenon... the obsession with maximizing to the greatest possible extent private property rights (both legally-enforceable and subjectively perceived)
There's a private lake here in Texas on a ranch the owner was successful in having different breed of fish he has a good population of peacock bass and their a good size and other cool species but there was a time birds came in and introduced an invasive plant species
Understand not wanting invasive species but if they just posted it saying "Submit to weeds check at XXXX address" I am sure you would. Just so you guys know. When I win the lottery and buy my own lake, I plan on doing just that.
Hey Jon i recently rented an airbnb up in north texas. It was a small pond but great size it hold 6-8 pounders. It has like 3 or 4 trailer homes but they are nice and clean. I definetly will go back up there since im from houston. But i seen you mentioned that you might want to get 1 like That. So that one i recommend i caught over 50 bass 2-4 pounders and my friend caught a 7 pounder. Let me know if you would like to know where.
I get my PB’s the moment before I get kicked out. I pretend I don’t speak English for 10 minutes and usually they give up, but sometimes I can’t come up with enough gibberish
Buddy is using a bass boat with FFS in a neighborhood “lake.” Hes a try hard Karen. He was definitely just mad that some one else was on the water with him lol.
get a float tube with a motor.. then its not a ''boat''.. i caught my best fish on lakes like this.. esp when there is no pressure at all. Bet there is some nice private lakes out there where u can just ask the owner for permission also.
People are so greedy. 🤣🤣 big ass lake, and butthurt that JB might steal his state record bluegill.
State record bluegill 😂🤣

Now I see why they’re greedy I’d cry if you took my bluegill

It amazes me how you are still so creative, and don’t run out of new content ideas. Keep up the work dude been watching you for years
The lake was good back in the day (90s) and the homeowners used to run tourneys there. Not sure if they still do but good stuff Jon!
The fact that bro fumbled his explanation to kick them off the water you can tell hes the neighborhood karen
1000%😂
Put 'em on blast! Fishing is for the people!
It's such a great video concept. I'm looking forward to more like it!

Same in NH, all bodies of water 10 acres and up are public although not all have public access. If you can get on it legally nobody can say anything.

Jon, which kayak do you like better, the RVR119 or the SS127, is there a super noticeable difference on the water?
No Karen can stop Jonb from fishing. No today Karen lol.
