  • It is so far, we start to the last leg of our Altmühltal cycle tour from the three-castle town of Riedenburg to the Weltenburger Enge, the Donaudurchburg.
Until then there were many sights to admire again. Beautiful baroque churches like in Riedenburg, Kelheim and Weltenburg.
Impossant castles e.g. Brunn Castle on the 70-meter-high, vertically towering Jurassic rock and many bridges over the Altmühl and the Main-Danube Canal.
Particularly noteworthy is the wavy curved wooden bridge at Essing, which is also affectionately called Tatzelwurm. It is considered a landmark of the lower Altmühltal.
Also other stations of the Archeology Park Altmühltal could be seen on this stage, such as at the lock Kelheim the reconstruction of a late Celtic city gate.
At the end of our tour we were able to experience on a small Zille the unique natural spectacle the Danube breakthrough of the "Weltenburger Enge".
This experience-rich bike tour through the beautiful Altmühltal will always remain in lively and good memory.
Thank you for helping us with your many motivational and appreciative comments, likes and ABO's.
    You're in the soup soup.
We wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
    Your cyclists Meggi and Wolfgang
