Smell reminds me of my Daddy ❤ 35 years in Nyssa and Nampa combined
Hey! Glad to hear that smell can bring some positives
I’ve lived here for over 3 years down by Lake Lowell and love Nampa. I’m fortunate to be retired and haven’t found the crime to be an issue. Fortunately this is a 2A friendly state and with my ECCW and lots of training I feel safe. There are parts of Meridian and Boise I stay away from so Nampa feels safe enough for this senior citizen. Traffic isn’t as bad when you’re retired and can pick the days and time of travel. I’d rather be in the worst parts of the treasure valley than the best parts of many of the surrounding states. I love Idaho and look forward to my sunset years here.
Thank you for sharing, you are exactly right. That area of nampa can be amazing. Happy to hear youre loving it here.
I say this without hate but Nampa was once great to live in. It might be still for some, but unless you’re from an established Idaho family has built something for themselves and you’re well off financially, but it’s clear with some exceptions that it favors those now who are financially set up.
Thank you for the comment. Do you live in the Nampa area?
The smell is from the sugar beet factory! I never found it unpleasant exactly, but it gets strong sometimes.
(have family in town, used to visit a few times a year)
Yeah some people don't mind it as much. Where are you at?
@@movingtoboiseid Los Angeles. The smog might a have something to do with my tolerance lol
It's not so bad in the winter. The summer when they stir up the waste ponds is when it smells like rotten eggs. Gag. I used to live in the country style trailer park in the 90s and had to burn incense a lot. I'd have to drive around Northside and avoid Ten Mile alongside the ponds because the fog was so thick you couldn't see to drive. I'd see rats and foxes a lot around there.
I grew up there in the 70s, 80s, 90s and up to 2014. Man has it changed. I miss the 70s. Stay out of the trailer parks and parts of the north side. There are norteno and sureno gangs in those pockets.
Thanks for the insights. Do you live in the valley still?
@@movingtoboiseid naw I moved out in 2014. Kinda miss it, lots of good memories despite the crap, but I miss the New Meadows/McCall area way more.
Mexican cartel gangs are expanding in Nampa. Check with your local sheriff's dept.
Thanks for the input. Do you live in the area?
I will buy a house from you in 2 or 3 years...
Thanks for commenting! What will be changing in 2-3 years?:)
