@@DongzzzzzzAll Samsung midrangers I've had just slowed down after just a single major Android upgrade and it never get faster ever since. I will not assume the better when all Samsung did with my previous devices were to slow them down over time.
The only thing I hate about Samsung right now. I see a Samsung phone in the wild and I can barely tell them apart. I'm still using a S21 FE which still has some character. Now it's all flat.
@GK-qc5ry Yes Samsung has been in this business for a long time and they what people want the UI icons doesn't look good in A series the phones mostly overheat the camera aren't good either and now from cheap ones to expensive ones looks the same
Samsung has promised 6 years of software updates for the A16 5G but the chipset comes with MediaTek Dimensity which is known for low performance and heating issues. Will this chipset be able to withstand 6 years of updates? This is all nonsense.
The 6 year software update is just a marketing gimmick. I doubt even the s24 Ultra could run Android 20 smoothly. No one holds their phone for more than 3-4 years, anyway.
Main reason I never switched to Samsung. Is that I really depend on having a headphone jack. Like the way my ears are setup, I don't think I can switch over to wireless earbuds. So it's either wired earphones or nothing at all. I only use wireless headphones strictly at home. But wouldn't use them walking around, maybe on a long distance traveling trip. But not on my daily commute around the city.
I have the A15 4G (8/256 variant) and no reason for me to get the A16 4G or 5G as they're more or less the same, but loses the headphone jack while getting a bigger screen and a body with IP54. I doubt more major Android versions would do well on budget chipsets like the Helio G99 or its slightly clock boosted 5G modem equipped versions like the Dimensity 6100+ (A15 5G) and Dimensity 6300 (A16 5G). Samsung's decision this time with the A06 and A16 being pretty much the same as their predecessors (Ax5) makes the Ax6 budget tier not worth an upgrade. It might be a better deal to get one from the last year's batch of Samsung A series phones but a higher model like the A25 which performs significantly better with its Exynos 1280 and has stereo speakers (which is a common complaint on the A15/A16) and retains the headphone jack.
I bought Galaxy 4G A15 recently as second phone which I use to tether from when travelling around. Battery life is stella. Single speaker is poor from what I'm used to Pixel 4a5g but for the price £150 sold no brainier of a mobile for those that don't care about having the best and want to save some money. BTW I picked up Pixel8a in the summer, still unopened £325 with trade in. Total bargain!
Hot take but I prefer the bezels on the A15, Might have been thicker but they looked more "uniform" than on this model. The notch on this one is HUGE and the bottom bezel is exaggerated because of that.
this is for my country where 5G is missing . and seeking for longevity cause I finished the gaming part in a smartphone so yes I want a device that actually can run for next 6 year without any trouble . yes we may welcome 5G in near future but 4G is more more affordable because there is no Samsung plant in my country and the difference between 4G n 5G is 80 USD$ ! that is a lot ! thank you GSMArena
This phone just makes me think that samsung can make an unbelievably amazing phone for cheap but they purposely have to give it a bad chipset, bad camera ugly borders and a notch to upsell their more premium phones
@@luluirl Removed 3.5mm jack, no stereo speakers, virtual proximity sensing. You pay more for their promise, the actual device is shit (relative to pricepoint and competition).
No matter what any phone that doesn't carry a headphone jack is not worth buying , it it has nothing to do with price cheap or expensive samsung need to do better especially since they stop putting in a charger inside the box .
This might be a better option than the 5G varient. I have the 5g with the Exynos and its terrible. Battery drain is bad, idle drain even worse. Performance is poor and it heats up all the time.
A16 5G and 4G suck, its more expensive here in egypt for its price u can get the A25 or A34 which are def better, s23 FE was alright the s24 fe sucks, its more expensive almost s24 ultra price, samsung is getting weird
Honestly Samsung can really take over the market held by Xiaomi, Realme and Vivo for cheap but packed with specs If Poco sells Poco F3 for 300$ 3 years ago ( a really freaking powerful and still handle heavy apps till now ) Why not Samsung? Samsung have the tools all they need is a cheap labor from developing countries
I feel the opposite. I think Samsung should exit the low end phone market -- the sub-$300 market and let the Chinese manufacturers take it. I have used sub-$300 phones from Samsung, Xiaomi, and Vivo, and I must say the Chinese ones give better bang for the buck. But once you upgrade to the $400-$700 range, Samsung does it better.
