Amit Kumar's is one of the finest voices that India has ever had..although he rarely does playback these days, his private albums and stage shows are all classics..
4:38 70 to 94 you were reigning.... Yeah man! That's the appropriate way of describing it. He seriously reigned that time. He is just too humble to openly admit it.😍
I think till Salman Khan's 'Sangdil Sanam' in 1994, he was in a good position as a male playback singer in Bollywood. That time, in mid 90's, it was no longer the era of RDB, LP and KA. RD Burman was no more, Laxmikant Pyarelal camp came to an end after the demise of Laxmikant ji, Kalyanji Anandji retired from Bollywood in early 90s. So, all three big music camps of 70s and 80s era came to an end. Even Bappi Lahiri faded away in 90s. Rajesh Roshan was still in a stable position due to the support provided by his brother, Rakesh Roshan. Anu Malik was one of the few old music composers of 80s decade, who was in a good position even in 90s. 90s saw the rise of the new string of music directors like Nadeem Shravan, Anand Milind and Jatin Lalit. Anand Milind were quite successful in utilizing Amit Kumar and worked with him on a regular basis in early 90s. 'Kaisa lagta hai' from 'Baaghi' was a big hit song of early 90s. Even Jatin Lalit too tried to utilize him, but not as good as Anand Milind did. While, Nadeem Shravan, the most successful music director duo of 90s, only worked with their favourites Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan, NS never cared for any other male singer, they were busy only in promoting Sanu and Udit in 90s. Height of favouritism. Ironically, they used Amit Kumar in 'Judaai', when he had already made up his mind to retire from Bollywood. During mid 90s (when he was about to leave Bollywood), he sang some notable songs in the films like 'Sangdil Sanam', 'Imtihaan', 'Sapoot' and 'Judaai'. If you listen his songs from these films, you will notice that in each of these songs, he sounded quite unique and sang in distinct styles. Be it singing for Salman Khan in 'Sangdil Sanam' or for Sunny Deol in 'Imtihaan' or for Sunil Shetty in 'Sapoot' or for Anil Kapoor in 'Judaai'. How nicely he modulates his voice for different actors. I had noticed one thing that whenever he sings for Anil Kapoor, he sounds strongly like his father. In his each and every song, he has something new to offer. That's what I like the most about him. He is not a stereotype singer, like our so called popular singers of 90s like Sanu and Udit. He is a versatile singer, his vocal range is vast.
Amit ji is so down to earth, humble noble soul. Being himself legend and legend soul, he dosent have ego and attitude. Was fortunate to meet him and shake hand with him. Thanks Amit ji god bless you and all your love ones.

Dear Amitji, good evening Sir. Since last few weeks onwards my favorate time pass (dont misunderstand) is to wacth/ enjoy your interview & listen to your songs on stage shows. No doubt you are the only repeat only one to follow Kishorjiis footsteps in terms of singing/mesmarising with his beautiful songs. Watching you performing on stage gives great moments and you have proven and is still proving that you are the genuine stamp of great Kishorji. There are many good singers in the bollywood, no doubt, those who also sing KIshirjis songs on stage programmes but they all can do 50/60 per cent justice where as you always give 100%. Sir, present bollywood is scared of you because if they bring back you again to the present set of singers, no doubt that there will again be Kishore Kumar waves which certain anti KK lobby do not want at all. Dont mind it, Sir you are still an undisputed king in bollywing although your presence is limited. So Sir, you dont hv to prove anything now, you are also a legend, gifted by the great Almighty to the music lovers. sir after watching your interview , i really really love you,, u are most balanced and true-hearted person, i first time listen the songs of your father as a child when he had just died and i love kishore so deeply since then and till my death and now i know you are most honest and graceful man. i love kishore ,rafi and mukesh as if three eternally incomparable diamonds,, actually all these three should have been able to sing till 90's when music machines totally changed the singing and make it so easy and what would have been their voice if they sing on these same machines its beyond any imagination but sadly we cant reverse time-machine its irony

He seriously reigned that time. He is just too humble to openly admit it.😍
I think till Salman Khan's 'Sangdil Sanam' in 1994, he was in a good position as a male playback singer in Bollywood. That time, in mid 90's, it was no longer the era of RDB, LP and KA. RD Burman was no more, Laxmikant Pyarelal camp came to an end after the demise of Laxmikant ji, Kalyanji Anandji retired from Bollywood in early 90s. So, all three big music camps of 70s and 80s era came to an end. Even Bappi Lahiri faded away in 90s. Rajesh Roshan was still in a stable position due to the support provided by his brother, Rakesh Roshan. Anu Malik was one of the few old music composers of 80s decade, who was in a good position even in 90s. 90s saw the rise of the new string of music directors like Nadeem Shravan, Anand Milind and Jatin Lalit. Anand Milind were quite successful in utilizing Amit Kumar and worked with him on a regular basis in early 90s. 'Kaisa lagta hai' from 'Baaghi' was a big hit song of early 90s. Even Jatin Lalit too tried to utilize him, but not as good as Anand Milind did. While, Nadeem Shravan, the most successful music director duo of 90s, only worked with their favourites Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan, NS never cared for any other male singer, they were busy only in promoting Sanu and Udit in 90s. Height of favouritism. Ironically, they used Amit Kumar in 'Judaai', when he had already made up his mind to retire from Bollywood. During mid 90s (when he was about to leave Bollywood), he sang some notable songs in the films like 'Sangdil Sanam', 'Imtihaan', 'Sapoot' and 'Judaai'. If you listen his songs from these films, you will notice that in each of these songs, he sounded quite unique and sang in distinct styles. Be it singing for Salman Khan in 'Sangdil Sanam' or for Sunny Deol in 'Imtihaan' or for Sunil Shetty in 'Sapoot' or for Anil Kapoor in 'Judaai'. How nicely he modulates his voice for different actors. I had noticed one thing that whenever he sings for Anil Kapoor, he sounds strongly like his father. In his each and every song, he has something new to offer. That's what I like the most about him. He is not a stereotype singer, like our so called popular singers of 90s like Sanu and Udit. He is a versatile singer, his vocal range is vast.

Dear Amitji, good evening Sir. Since last few weeks onwards my favorate time pass (dont misunderstand) is to wacth/ enjoy your interview & listen to your songs on stage shows. No doubt you are the only repeat only one to follow Kishorjiis footsteps in terms of singing/mesmarising with his beautiful songs. Watching you performing on stage gives great moments and you have proven and is still proving that you are the genuine stamp of great Kishorji. There are many good singers in the bollywood, no doubt, those who also sing KIshirjis songs on stage programmes but they all can do 50/60 per cent justice where as you always give 100%.
Sir, present bollywood is scared of you because if they bring back you again to the present set of singers, no doubt that there will again be Kishore Kumar waves which certain anti KK lobby do not want at all. Dont mind it,
Sir you are still an undisputed king in bollywing although your presence is limited.
So Sir, you dont hv to prove anything now, you are also a legend, gifted by the great Almighty to the music lovers.

sir after watching your interview , i really really love you,, u are most balanced and true-hearted person, i first time listen the songs of your father as a child when he had just died and i love kishore so deeply since then and till my death and now i know you are most honest and graceful man. i love kishore ,rafi and mukesh as if three eternally incomparable diamonds,, actually all these three should have been able to sing till 90's when music machines totally changed the singing and make it so easy and what would have been their voice if they sing on these same machines its beyond any imagination but sadly we cant reverse time-machine its irony
