This song perfectly encapsulates the essence of persona as a whole for me, which is why I think it's the best boss theme in the series. The buildup towards the guitars and vocals blending together are nothing short of brilliance. 0:30 This part sounds so rebellious in a badass, yet somber manner. Rebellious in the "coming out of your shell" kind of way. As if you don't have to hide yourself from the world anymore and can truly be free, and true to yourself. You are one with your shadow. You make it your strength. But getting to that point isn't easy, which is why it also sounds sad to me. Somehow the vocals give me this sense of grieving or struggle, as if there's a pain to all of this. The road towards self acceptance is brutal and hard. Sometimes there's denial, sometimes there's rejection. Sometimes you want to run away from the other you. It's overwhelming. It's hard to control. But eventually, you'll have no choice but to confront this destiny.

Honestly one of the best synth basslines on ps1/psp. As a bassist this smacks hard. It stays on beat, it’s simplistic, it’s rhythmic. A lot bass players should take note cause I mean there’s a lot of little things on this track I don’t see good players use like the spacing at the end of the line
I really recommend you to play them, however you should probably use an emulator to speed up the battles since the encounter rate is crazy high. But if you can look past that the stories are amazing
Maybe at some Day they should really Remake them. So more young People can play them and listen to the Banger Music. Even if they dont Remake them the next few Years i will play the Original

Have been playing through Persona 1, just got through the Queen fight and this song was basically the only saving grace of it, it was such a slog, who tf thought removing all your party members for a boss a fun game design 😂
irrc you can do the boss fight with a full party if you say you like her paintings more, but youll lose out on a persona upgrade later in the game, so its just atlus being sadists again 💀
That’s the general consensus I get with this games ost. The ost slaps but it doesn’t fit as well cause of the theme and feel of the game. The game is also super 90s and the OG ost fits that well cause it also sounds super 90s

Even though I'm not familiar with the first Persona games (1, IS and EP), this song has to be my favorite one from the first game
Play them, the P2 duology is really really good.
And P1, while very janky, is a blast to play once you get used to it.
