Good luck man alway make sure to keep up with maintenance and if you plan on modifying it make sure to get a good tune for it. If you treat those cars good they’ll treat you good, never cheap out on parts
Had an 05 wrx , loved this car . But i did’nt get it as a first car like i wanted like you . Props to you for chasin your goals enjoy I’m in the 04 sti nowadays 😉
Mane , dope video ! A WRX was my first manual car ( 08 ) deff had to learn the second I got it but the traffic in all was a GOOD way to learn lol. I didn't know anything about the platform and didn't get it tuned properly After getting a Cobb A.P and you know what happened next. Years later im in search of a new one with the knowledge ive gather. If you decide to get it tuned id suggest going to DBW up in Buford!
Pretty nice story man, good job on the steal of a deal! Red Blobeye is pretty uncommon too. My Bugeye was my third vehicle and its been my most reliable for VF48, ELH, EWG + Supporting Mods, have had it running good for the last 3 years. Heres hope your upgrades go well in the future! Good luck on the car going onwards!
Biggest advice I can give you owning my 05 sti for more then 12 years now is make sure you keep up with maintenance also don't be ripping the car or boosting much unless you know it has a proper tune because so much as an exhaust with a tune will blow up your shit unless you plan on upgrading things look for a tuner and have them tune your car make sure your tuner has reputation because that will save you money and a head ache in the long run also after hearing you talk about everything done to the car and how the owner before acted selling it I'd be careful and cautious make sure to check over everything because you never know the sketchy shit someone will do to sell a car
yes. if you are not sure how its build (if it aint fully stock) - dont boost over 1.2 Id say if its 207. And good oil, regular oil checks :) (redline for example).
You are absolutely correct ! Owner was a really really sketchy guy. I bought the car off the guy from FB marketplace and the deal and everything went smooth but the way that guy was acting and trying to get over me with the parts , I should’ve known something was up. As I stated , 2 months later , transmission stopped working . And I never raced the car or beat on it within that time for it to happen like that.
In the near future, I want to turn the boost down , get an intake (stock one is kinda ribbed), bpv, and a tune for those thing Ofcourse. As of right now you’d be surprised on how good she runs :)
@@lethaldai yea is sad how most Subarus nowadays are either beat to shit or well taken care of and overcharged but every now And then you can get lucky
Dope Video dude I just bought my first subie this past Dec 2024 and it is my first manual as well! Dude kinda the same story I had my buddy show me 2 days in his 92 ranger before we went and looked at the 09 legacy gt limited I bought then learned how to drive first week he would come over just to move it when I got stuck haha. I was looking for older wrx as well but they was all rusted out and the legacy was clean!
I've been driving my dad's 2015 5.0 GT through the last year of high school but since I'm starting college soon I need my own car. I think I want an sti because it's sporty enough and it should get me through winter nicely but I'm conflicted on whether I should get an older 04/05 blobeye or if I should go for something newer like a 2018. I think I'm a responsible enough driver only doing pulls once in a while. Having driven my dad's mustang I'm pretty used to peer pressure of everyone asking me to do burnouts in the parking lot and I think I'm responsible enough to daily an sti. My biggest issue is not the price of the car but more so the maintenance. Both these cars in my area go for about the same amount on marketplace so I'm not worried about that. I really love the older model and would absolutely go for it if not for maintenance issues. Do you think an 04 sti can be a daily driven car without issue? Since I'm starting college I don't have a lot of time or money to be putting into the car if it's going to give me problems regularly which is why I'm considering a newer one. I asked a family member who's in his mid 20's and he's had 2 meaneye sti's over his time as well as an evo 8, s14 and bmw m3, so he's pretty experienced and he said that I could daily an 04 sti as long as I don't take it to redline and find one that's as close to stock as possible. He wouldn't be able to help with maintenance if I buy one as he lives in the US and I live in Canada so I'd be mostly on my own except for my dad who does know a lot about cars. Although my dad is the one who strongly suggests I get a newer car as he doesn't want us to end up working on it all the time and I need to be able to drive it every day. As an owner of an older wrx, what's your opinion? Both the older and newer ones are going for about $15k-$25k although the newer ones range from 50k miles to 100k miles whereas the older ones are 100k to 130+. (I converted from km to miles) Do you think it's worth it for me to get the older one or should I just go for the newer one?
@@satan2084 honestly, if I had the money I’d get an STI instead of the WRX I have but nevertheless still very grateful. With that being said, I’d go for the newer STI since you are worried about maintenance & maybe reliability…. Like your friend said, if you do get the older STI, try to find one near as stock as possible , or with very few supporting mods . I only say that because you will run into more issues with the older WRX/STI’s than the newer ones. Then you’re getting it for a daily so i definitely recommend something such as the newer STI, because these older ones will definitely pop up with problems here and there. Subarus aren’t the most reliable, but if you’re gonna daily it , just get the newer STI to take off some of your worries !

nahh if he does his oil changes on time that motor will last forever, as long as he doesn't launch it or red line the car everyday he'll be good, my wrx is at 260k running strong no leaks at all.
Im pushing 420 hp on my wrx hybrid for the past 4 years and nothing wrong has happened besides my transmission fucking up and that’s because 5 speeds are ass. Once i put the 6 speed in ill be set for life, good luck with your build bro and power steering pumps usually go out so save up for that

You’re gonna be spending all your money on that Subaru if the maintenance hasn’t been done.
