small pet peeve: gridman is not a mecha show, it's a giant hero show. mecha are specifically piloted giant robots. if it's not giant, robotic, AND piloted it's not a mecha. dynazenon is 100% a mecha tho also side note, ssss. gridman is a sequel to gridman the hyperagent/denko chojin gridman

Yea I think the background casts being Jaring and inorganic like the scene of yuta first telling them about the info he learned from the 2nd but I think it was a stylistic choice because they're all ai designed to like akane hell utsumi only exists to share akanes hobbies and rikka and akane are like the same person (the moving out scene and ed gave that impression) I'm not saying that as an excuse but I definitely think it was done on purpose
Really loved that despite that they were able to break free of her coding and genuinely start to care about her in episode and after that ep their issues and worries started to become more apparent at least to me

Dynazenon isn't 100% mecha either when dynazenon itself is the only mecha in the show. Everything else from the kaiju to gridknight weren't mecha
