I think the low energy mood works well here. I feel like the more “down” a person is, the better they digest sad/darker music, which is this record. Not to say you should be down when reacting, since your happiness and mental health is important. Also, I think you skipped the track “Freak Show”, maybe due to copyright? Anyways, nice to see you back. I’m on the same boat as you, the record is good, but I’ll only come back to it every once in awhile.

If you’re looking for more reactions from them, Punching Bag/Fake Ass Friends/Evil people are all great imo. It seems like they are going back to their roots after separating from their label.
omg yes thank you so much for reacting to this album, it’s one of my favorites by sio! thank you for your honesty! listening to your thoughts was very interesting & did give me a different perspective on this album. dad’s song was written by Cody Carson (the vocalist) for his dad who died of cancer & the lyric “there’s no shortcut to success” was something his dad used to tell him. on their latest album, midnight, there’s a song called unopened windows, which is like a part two to this song. I also noticed you didn’t put the song freak show in this video, so idk what happened there but it’s all good lol. maybe react to their latest record midnight, it’s my favorite & i think you’d really like it :) also if you like a more 80s synth pop sound you might like peach club by emarosa, I’ve had this album on repeat since last month so I thought I’d let you know about lol anyways, thank you once again for this reaction & hope you have an amazing day/night! 💙

Like between Duality and Upside Down (their junior record), it just sounded like they were struggling to find a sound that worked for them. I think they finally found a good balance with Midnight. The album has A LOT of dark themes in it, but also has some cheesy, upbeat, and catchy sounds to vibe with. By far my favorite release from the band (coming from a longtime Cinnematics era fan :) )
Would be interested to hear your opinion on the acoustic version of dream catcher. Usually I don't like the acoustic versions but with this song, I feel like it really makes it more impactful. Might not be your kind of music, but I'd still be interested.

I haven’t heard this record but the samples made me want to check it out. I listened to deluxe track “partners in crime” through a suggestion and hated it thoroughly, thus avoiding this record like the plague. I’ll give it a go.

You didnt like duality and somewhat liked cinematics but honestly i feel like you would have a better time with midnight theyre newest album
