- tahnk youuu @ironicsoap don't read the rest of this description I wrote it when I was really tired last night
yeah so the first part is rendered in cycles which like my computer can barely handle rendering still frames so I don't know why I thought rendering an animation was a good idea but yeah it took about 20 hours to render half of that first clip before soap saved my computers life so yarr thanks. The second half is rendered in eevee amnd you can kinda tell I tacked it on after finishing and rendering that first bit lmao. If you're wondering what the fuck I'm talking about eevee and cycles are the built in render engines in blender, which is like uuuuh yknow what makes it go from a grey plasticy thing to whatever I guess. Cycles looks a lot better because it has actual ray tracing and subsurface scattering while eevee just fakes it, also cycles has a dedicated hair shader which just makes it look REALLY good by default. the only problem is cycles like ties up your computer and just starts going to town on it's face, pummelling it blow after blow with it's beautifully rendered fists. eevee is better.

If you're interested in some feedback (maybe you're just animating for fun, then just ignore this): some people here say "this could be more animated" but this doesn't sound very helpful, what they probably mean is considering principles of animation like drag (or whatever it's called), for example when the character sits down, make the ears flop - this will make the animation feel a little less stiff. The book "Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams covers all those principles in great detail with many examples. It's just 2D, however it's extremely useful for 3D artists! I am a 3D artist too and learned a lot from it ^^ You can also find some of the paged online I think
oh wow actual advice on youtube that's crazy. Thanks for taking the time to write this but yeah I know I forgot to rig her ears lol, this animation is very much for fun
i believe its called follow through? like when the character sits the ears could flop, they could have some more weight to them by making a little bounce maybe?
Many of these details are when people make an animation / drawings for fun and forget some tiny details for physics. (Tiny details make a large impact on the final image aswell.)

That looks literally fantastic. Could it be improved? Sure. Can do half the job you did so far? I wish. Lol everyone learns and improves at their own pace. Don't get caught up it how others progress otherwise it will effect how you look at your work and ultimately how well you do. You just keep up the great work. Love that art style and honestly the "stiffness" they keep mentioning kinda makes it unique. I like it.

So with people giving feedback saying "it could be more animated" I think what they are getting at is the way that it seems you only have minimal keyframes for the positions you want, just kind of going from one position to the other instead of having it all flow together. Making a storyboard beforehand might help with this. But at the same time, there's a strange charm to it. Like, it isnt "correct" this isnt how a professional would do it, you know, but its interesting. Particularly the way it looks from 0:03- 0:05 or so with that spin. Like, doesnt look right but it looks *neat.* In my opinion. Or the way at 0:09 they sit down in like literally 3 frames. It just kinda snaps down. Which, again, isnt "correct" but has a weird charm to it.
I think you could lean into it, just clean it up a little.
