Deer have been a fear of mine for about 10 years now, but Zoogene is making me rethink things a little bit. Thank you for the vicarious exposure therapy!
Deers are generally so nice and can learn to love people especially when they have treats lol being plant eaters only they don't have predatory instincts, just protective for their large families, they even have friends within their deer groups!
Oh they’re WAY more afraid of you, than you are of them for sure…they’re super skittish and easily spooked, which is why if you live in an area where there’s a heavy population of deer, you’ll see signs everywhere saying to be aware of them and watch carefully if you’re driving because because they can dart in front of you and your car out of nowhere! Fun fact-some states, like VA, have car insurance that has built in coverage for animal collisions, specially deer, because it’s so common! I never understood hunters who hunt Deers for fun. Everytime someone says they've shot one I'm like THAT DEER MIGHT'VE BEEN A MOTHER!!! Idk, maybe Bambi scarred me too much
Food. Venison is very good. Also, we have hunting seasons for a reason. It's to prevent overpopulation. It actually ends up helping the deer too as an overpopulation could cause food scarcity. I get it, they're cute, but hey---love hurts.
@@kingblanketfort yes! I’d also add that it’s important to keep the population down in order to help with the spread of diseases, and to lower the number of deer getting hit by cars. In general “people hunting for fun” involves the whole process of the hunt and the effort and time that goes into it all. Hunting is so much more than just killing an animal to kill an animal. True hunters care about the ethics and safety (of both humans and animals) and take those things into consideration during the entire process.
Moose definitely have monster energy of deer vibes when they're full grown in the wild, but as someone who has been to a moose farm and cuddled with the calves and gotten to pet the adult ones... in my eyes they're adorable. Based on Eugene and the animal handler being in the same outfits as the last video it just dawned on me that of course they would film all of these in one day for efficiency's sake but holy smokes what a day for Eugene if that's the case. How did he ever fall asleep after all of this excitement?? (I'm assuming there are a few more videos from this series coming too).
I love that with this channel, and the Try Guys not being with Buzzfeed anymore, the guys can do things which make them so happy, such as just spend a day with animals!!
Question: do y'all partner with AZA accredited animal ambassadors/handlers? I deeply enjoy this segment and I wish there was something in the description box that gave me assurance it was ethically made. 🤓
The back of the trainers shirt says Benay’s. I did a little digging and found Benay's Bird & Animal Rentals which mostly trains animals for films and media, their page says that they are fully licensed and partner up with zoos and parks, but I couldn’t find which so I don’t know if they’re AZA credited 😕
My mom's dog is like this, especially as he's gotten into very old territory. Chill when he's just with her but not here for any other chaos - just wants to be on top of his person forever.
Idk why but this video is making me think of Eugene in older try guys and buzzfeed videos, I feel like he was a lot quieter then and you could see that he was internally dealing with a lot. Eugene now since coming out seems like he has so much more off his chest and that he is at peace with himself. I'm just really proud of him ❤👏
I really love the idea of this series, I really do. I'm just not really sure about the legitimacy of a company that trains and RENTS animals out to parties. For something like this, it'd be amazing for Eugene to go maybe into a zoo to promote conservation that way. It's MUCH more difficult, but I think better overall for conservation efforts and zoos. Anything AZA approved!
That’s a good point! I’m curious as to what the company’s policies are. I’ve heard of places that train animals and bring them out for learning opportunities (like this one!), but the animals they train usually are ones that were born captive, or were rescued by well-meaning humans who didn’t realize they couldn’t survive in the wild because they no longer feared humans. There’s a local petting zoo near where I live that has squirrels, raccoons, coyotes and crows who came to them in those conditions, some exotic creatures they took in after they were seized from someone who neglected them, and the usual goats, cats, Guinea pigs etc. That place in particular uses the profits they get from being a petting zoo to pay for the cost of the animals’ care, and I can only speculate here, but I think most places that train animals and bring them out like the one in this video likely use the funds generated to care for the animals. At least, I HOPE that’s why, it makes me feel a lot better about it compared to the possibility of it being some kind of Joe Exotic situation 😬
I honestly think this is one of the worst series the try guys has done. I've tried to just avoid watching them but the whole 'Eugene loves animals, Eugene is cute' doesn't make up for the moral vacuum I think is going on here
I know it seems dramatic and everyone is just all starry eyed but like, did no one have ethical concerns here and what does it say that they didn't? ugh
Eugene is the Ultimate Disney Princess. I'm loving this series because even though these are very ordinary or commonly recognized animals, they have every right to be just as seen, appreciated, and protected. A lot of animal shows will try to showcase the most "unique, exotic, weird, bizarre, out-of-this-world" creatures and while there is educational and some entertainment value in that, I think it's super nice to take a step back and admire the more comparitively 'mundane' animals, because they are in fact just as beautiful and wonderful to behold.
My first pet was a deer 🥰 they are so wonderful! Her name was Pebbles and I loved her SO MUCH. So glad Eugene got to meet Willow. For reference: no I did not purposely get a deer as a pet. My family helped an injured deer, and after that when she’d have babies she’d come drop them off at our house during the day. Kinda like babysitting 😂 I was 4 years old and bonded with the babies.
I need Eugene to see an alligator next. I just think it would be really cute to see him fawn over something that is generally considered a vicious creature
i need an excuse to show this video to my kindergarteners, this was so wholesome and educational!!!! i'm from a tropical country and actually had no idea deer/fawn could lose their spots, the more you know
Eugene with his 3 babies totally melts my heart. I have absolutely no idea how anyone can possibly say no to Eugene having another pup. He takes such good care of them. It would be awesome to create a rescue/sanctuary, named In Eugene’s honor that helps older, abandoned pups have a place to live out their golden years surrounded by love.

This new Zoogene series made me see another side of Eugene. AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Always knew he was an animal lover, but these dialogues with Kimbab and his meet cutes with these zoo animals? So adorable and uplifting. MY NEW FAVE series!!!!
I want to say that I appreciate Eugene making the commercials entertaining, yet on the other hand I'm a little resentful that Kimbap "saying" how great State Farm is makes me like them more. Ultimately doesn't matter once Zoogene sees the baby deer 🥺
My favourite memories of deer is when I was in my early 20's riding my horse as the sun rises and we used to race them through early morning mists jumping fallen trees and just enjoying time together. I live on the south coast of the UK and we have a lot of green spaces and country lanes nearby! My boy and I used to explore 6 days a week. Seeing deer more often than not.
I’m so happy to see Eugene being Zoogene. It reminds me of ‘Stanley’ (OG Disney Channel Stans know) and ‘Go Diego Go’/‘Dora the Explorer’. Also, great theme song ♥️
When Eugene asked "why would anyone do anything bad to a deer?" My brain instantly replied "because they're delicious " 🙉🙈🙊 Look, I grew up in NW PA. My dad hunts. I grew up eating venison instead of beef. It's leaner and healthier. But also, I could never kill a deer myself. They are too beautiful...except when they eat the crops in the garden.
@@SPYgirl199812 Some would, yes…but deer, or most of them anyway, are herbivores. Suffice it to say, your chances of being eaten by a deer are next to 0.
I love how Eugene always sounds on the brink of tears when he sees the animals for the first time, like this is the single most wonderous moment of his life and he cannot handle it. I wonder who schedules these guest stars. They must love watching his reactions
My sister and I raised a fawn when we were 10/9. We knew she was an orphan (our dad hit her mom with his truck accidentally) and did are best with her, getting her goat milk to bottle feed her. She was a lot like a goat, ready and willing to eat absolutely everything-a lot like Willow going after Eugene’s shirt lol. We raised her to adulthood and did sort of a soft release back into the wild: our house was in the woods so we basically just put her outside full time and let her decide how much time she wanted to spend with us vs the local wild population. The time she spent with us just dwindled down until she wasn’t really around us at all anymore; she did choose to keep her baby the next year in our yard, though. That was precious.
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this in the comments, but female deer can grow antlers under certain conditions! :D But their antlers will not get as large.
I am from New Jersey and grew up seeing deer my entire life. They have come into my backyard multiple times. One time I was walking to school and there was a group of deer and I was standing back just watching them when a male started to almost strut towards me. I could tell it wasnt a good thing so I walked further back. I took a long way to get to school that day.
I LOVE ZOOGENE!!!!!! I love deer. I got a tattoo of a doe on my arm last summer. I grew up in the middle of no where, and deer used to cross through my backyard and front yard all the time. We'd make eye contact, hold it for a while, and then pass each other by. They're so kind and gentle.
I've never been more envious of Eugene than when this series was created. I want to feed and pet all the critters!! Off to bottle feed baby cows this evening! 😊

I’m so happy to see Eugene being Zoogene. It reminds me of ‘Stanley’ (OG Disney Channel Stans know) and ‘Go Diego Go’/‘Dora the Explorer’. Also, great theme song ♥️
It's the great big book of everything with everything inside!
What about Zoboomafoo?
When Eugene asked "why would anyone do anything bad to a deer?" My brain instantly replied "because they're delicious " 🙉🙈🙊
Look, I grew up in NW PA. My dad hunts. I grew up eating venison instead of beef. It's leaner and healthier. But also, I could never kill a deer myself. They are too beautiful...except when they eat the crops in the garden.
I personally don't think you should feel bad
Animals would eat you if they could
Just treat them with respect and don't make them suffer needlessly
@@SPYgirl199812 Some would, yes…but deer, or most of them anyway, are herbivores. Suffice it to say, your chances of being eaten by a deer are next to 0.

I've seen a cow eat a baby chick
Zoogene’s reaction when he saw the deer 😭 I feel you, Zoogene
Eugene trying to practice patience with Willow was adorable and funny 😂
Living vicariously through Zoogene. Absolute goals. I didn’t even see the baby in person but I could cry!
I love this series so much. Just short, cute, and heart warming. Much needed.
I am loving this series; the animals are awesome, and it's so good to have Eugene back on the channel regularly!
I love how Eugene always sounds on the brink of tears when he sees the animals for the first time, like this is the single most wonderous moment of his life and he cannot handle it. I wonder who schedules these guest stars. They must love watching his reactions
Wednesdays are my Monday and there’s no better way to start your week than with Zoogene
But their antlers will not get as large.
I love these videos Eugene gets so excited and as someone who loves animals (and works with them) I watch these as soon as I can.
I dont know if I should be jealous of the deer for meeting eugene, or be jealous of eugene for petting and feeding the deer
I bottle fed baby fawns before…so precious. How cute is she ❤️
I LOVE ZOOGENE!!!!!! I love deer. I got a tattoo of a doe on my arm last summer. I grew up in the middle of no where, and deer used to cross through my backyard and front yard all the time. We'd make eye contact, hold it for a while, and then pass each other by. They're so kind and gentle.
Willow: "Yoo dude, guess who I met today"
That one deer at Eugene's dad's place: "Who?"
I've never been more envious of Eugene than when this series was created. I want to feed and pet all the critters!! Off to bottle feed baby cows this evening! 😊
I have been watching u guys since i was 8😭😭😭 i am 12 now and honestly i have learned SO MUCH from u guys I LOVE U GUYS SO MUCH AND THANK U FOR MAKING MY CHILDHOOD THE GREATEST🥳🥳🥳
Eugene is basically living my greatest dream with this video. Good for him.
Eugene is just in absolute heaven this episode and I am Loving It
Eugene should have this amount of joy at least once every single day.
Willow is so cute..
(war flashbacks to Nara, Japan where deers ran after me and cut a piece of my shirt when I tried feeding them) hahahahhaa
My friend took an epic picture of the miyajima deer jumping at me like "square up, CUZ" while I'm walk running away shielding my face 😂😭
Eugene's reaction to the fawn is the purest thing in the world ❤️
I wasn't feeling great today. I'm better now. I love Zoogene content
this series brings me so much comfort. i love seeing eugene interact with the animals; it’s so wholesome. you can tell he’s genuinely so excited to meet and interact with them. i love it!
She's so sweet! They're all over where I live, and it can be dangerous for them. :(
