Genius. Inspiring and so satisfying to see a writing instrument go from trash to treasure.

Nice work, Doug! I've done a few 51s myself, but I learned some things from you on this one, for sure...my biggest problem has always been getting that tiny ball out of the socket on the pump.

Removing it without damaging the cup is difficult.

Still wishing you a full recovery. Great video as always. Your videos have made me more confident in restoring older pens to working order.
Recently purchased a pencil thin Waterman 12 1/2 eyedropper from around 1903.
It actually mostly needs cleaning; Which is showing to be a several day process because of how much of the ink is still stuck inside the barrel and nib.
Hoping to get a replacement nib for it soon.
Thanks for all of the great restoration content. Always looking forward to the next video.

What a beautiful late Art-Deco/just pre-Space Age design pen and a glorious restoration/rescue!
It truly looks stunning in the end!
    Best regards

While I am sure you would like this restoration to have gone smoother, especially with the pellet, I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the entire process.
    It is another success, Doug.
I have wondered how do you clean the nib feed and sack after using the pen. Do you just keep pumping water into the pen until the expelled water is clean?

Yes. It is one of the PITA things about the P51 (Aerometric is worse)
