- I created a mod for Stardew Valley that make a randomized item drop next to me EVERY five seconds! It was one of the most insane Stardew Valley Challenges I've ever done. Luckily, I'm a Stardew valley speedrunner so I had nothing to fear!

I think it would be more interesting if a chest spawns every 20 seconds, but instead you cant use anything that isnt from the chest except for the tools

I would rather see a can use what's in the chest, but can't directly sell anything. So like if he got seeds he could plant them, or if he got a gem he couldn't sell it but had to use it to make something.
Also 5 seconds was way too fast 😂
I almost cried when you said oil of garlic sells for nothing because it sells for 1000 gold. Also I feel like the moral of the story is that you should’ve just sold the cherry saplings lol

You should have made the chests despawn after a while
That or reduce how often the chests drop. Maybe one chest every 30 seconds or 1 minute

i think tuesdays twitter shenanigans were in full flight when i first followed you... And I just thought you were really cool and that you've dropped off more recently. It all makes sense now
I think that when you tried to randomize the amounts of the items you had it set to randomize from a list of (1,999) rather than a list of 1 TO 999. Basically it had a 50/50 shot of giving you the minimum or the maximum. If you wanted it to be completely fair it may have been ideal to have it select with bias towards lower numbers as well so that it doesn’t just average 500. That or have the max be like... 50.
No. This is because every time he gets 999 of an item is when he uses something. Instead every item comes in a stack of 2 147 483 647 or 2³¹ - 1, see 14:29. No idea why the game doesn't like it it just doesn't.

But this is called an integer overflow. Certain data types can only count so high that when it exceeds this value, it loops all the way back down. My guess, when setting up the "randomize amounts" the amounts available was not limited to 1 to 999, but ANY possible value in a double, resulting in any value from -2,147,483,647 to 2,147,483,647. Those glitchy numbers are probably caused by integer overflow. He sold 2 bil copper ore, received too much money that the amount of cash he got cycled back around to negatives and effictively got rounded to 0 because maybe there's a "sanity check" for that (code that accounts for unreasonable game logic). Pizza sold for -300 because he sold a negative amount of them, etc.
Just a guess. I'm not a coder, and I don't have access to source code.
if you fix the glitch where it gives you 999 items and make it to where it can't spawn on crops and make it spawn either every minute or every 30 seconds, it would be a decent challenge

Also this mod would overwhelm me as well haha so many things going on but it pained me when Sheannie trashed something i knew could be sold lol
i suspect this is a classic case of overflow. for some reason the game thinks you're selling such an incomprehensibly large number of ore, etc that it spills over to be a negative number... thus taking away all your money in the morning.

Its simple the 32 bit integer limit aka 2,147,483,647 is the maximum number stardew can hold but if it continues to get higher it will simply turn negative now stardew can process negative numbers of gold so you end up at 0 when in actuality it should be -2,147,483,647
And your money gained is never coded to go down only up but your money is coded to go both ways so it considers it so whats happening is its trying to do 5000-2,147,483,647 but your money cant be negative so it just goes to 0 and thats what happened
what would be an interesting mod would be getting a random seed or sapling every 5 seconds, and you make a rule where you can't sell any and have to plant them to get rid of them (or put them in a chest)
