My Father loved James Taylor, my Father had very bad Dementia and he didn't know me when he passed, but he could sing fire and rain, also you've got a friend. He didn't know who I was, but Sir he knew who you were😢.
@simonfaulkner1342 remember your Dad left knowing James Taylor and those two songs. That in itself is a big blessing! I’m 74 years now! I served during the Vietnam 🇻🇳 War. No matter what I went through during this war the most I feared is dementia and Alzheimer’s.
I know your pain… my father is 89 and has no idea who I am. I see him every week and even 4 years after he first started with dementia I still get upset. Awful disease 😢😢
I can't begin to count the times I've heard "Fire And Rain", but Dan Dugmore's pedal steel on this puts the song through a completely different sonic lens. Absolutely beautiful.

🩷 This ‘new’ updated video version of the 1986 release! Being 70ish, I grew up with J.T.’s music and this song. Hearing it again NOW for the 1st time in years brings back many great 👍 memories from the bygone ‘good ‘ole days’, when ‘life’ was so much simpler. For example, people were kinder, more respectful of others, places were safe to go to - and in general the world 🌍 was a much better one than it has been for decades, likely before a lot of you watchers were born. I’m glad to see that James T. is still performing live! 👏

OK Man, once you got your sound right, I still think you could slow it a bit more. Nice progression, strong vocals, nice song Man. Diamonds are always in the rough just need some polishing.
The slower tempo is not appealing.
