How did I know I was enfp? I’m able to do what I call the “enfp switch” where we can switch from petty conversation to debating the meaning of life. I’m proud of the fact that I can do this and I’m sure it confuses a lot of people.

Ohh my teachers hated me because of this. I started the question on how to solve a math problem and ended it by asking how does math impacts our lifes and also proposing a new way to solve the problem. God my teachers hated me for this.

I cannot seem stick to one task for very long before getting bored! If I had it my way, I'd go to school for a year, work in that field for a year or two and then move onto something new. I'm fascinated with learning about different careers and how they work. Yet there is a part of me that would love to become a master of something vs. a jack of all trades!

I'm going to find a way to be capable of comitting to both lanes, even if it ends up being the death of me.... Haha who knows. Maybe BEING a jack of all trades can be somewhat a mastery in itself. Becoming a master of being a master of and in all trades. Impossible.... Maybe. Idealistic. Damn right it is. You can't deny how exuberation and excitement that kind of lifestyle speaks to your inner child.

I have a HUGE problem with telling people what they want to hear. It's just innate for me to do it. I can read people well and I tailor my conversations and how I carry myself differently with each individual. It's been difficult to stop, and I agree that focusing on my authenticity will help this.

Just make sure you keep this in mind. Many claim they want to change the world. That's a good thing. However, many will feel they missed their opportunity or never had the resources and connections needed to make a difference. False. Teaching is a GREAT way to change the world. Molding young minds? I can't think of a better way to make a difference. If we all made a CONSCIOUS effort to be more EMPATHETIC to one another, show more KINDNESS & COMPASSION, ENCOURAGE others as much as possible, SELFLESSLY GIVE (be it time, money, product or service someone out there is in need and would appreciate it more than you know), SEEK UNDERSTANDING and remain HUMBLE & GRACIOUS regardless how great or awful things may be, and stay PRESENT IN THE MOMENT... if we each consciously sought to do these things daily, we could flip the world inside out in spectacular fashion. Since we can't control everyone else, start inward and reflect outwards in your day to day interactions. That makes all the difference in the world. And lastly, if you're passionate about something, if You have a dream that won't let You go, Go after it with all you've got and don't let anyone get in the way. Do what you LOVE to do and share your gifts with the world because that's what we're here to do, and nobody can ever do that like you can. Cheers

Derek Reese Thanks Bro. We are natural fearless visionaries and when we stick to that vision we make the impossible possible as long as we stick to it and not get sidetrack by other projects. Self discipline helps a lot. As far as what you are talking about, that's actually the path I'm talking about. Becoming the next Wayne Dyer. In a world where we humans are managed by our emotions either by past emotions or future fears, it's sad to see people not following their true life purpose.

I'm an ENFP. It's rather exhausting, isn't it? I'm 26 and have lived in 5 continents in the past 6 years and taken on countless projects, many of which are quickly abandoned. I love my life and I find a lot of what you're saying very true - I am motivated to live the way I live because it all seems 'right' to me, but I find my inability to commit to things also very frustrating, and I wonder if, as I get older, this will hinder me in some way. How can I harness my true potential if I'm not willing/able to be patient and motivated enough to see things through?

we're just so used to starting things and then getting bored halfway through. We're also so aware of the millions of cool things that we could be doing, so we don't want to commit to one because then we'd be neglecting all the other things. it's stupid but true...

But what can still make my blood boil is my friends who are still trying to convince me that I have to start planning, scheduling & executing those plans otherwise I won't succeed.

I'm ENFP and can't seem to find where I fit in society. I've made amazing money on the pipeline as a welder but quit, because I felt like I wasn't doing what I was meant to do. I've always battled my own mind, but have come to the realization that I need to embrace it. I genuinely care so much about people in general and feel whole when I'm able to make those around me smile and help them grow. I've always felt so distanced from normal people because of how I think. Now that I'm able to embrace who I'am now comes the long process of trying to find my calling and figure out how I can make a difference in people's lives.

@@sarahdarden4630 well I'm in school full time for child and adolescent psychology, I'm planning on working with at-risk teens and underprivileged youth. I wanna help them see the better side of life. I've learned I don't need to "fit in to society" but instead fully be my self and embrace my thoughts and feelings. I'm more happy then I've ever been, and make sure I try to make a difference in someone's life every day. Don't try to hard to find where you fit in, instead just be you and embrace your odd side. Take on every day with a smile and never hold back. Hope that's a decent update.

I quit a job I loved and was really good at when I was faced with having to work in a more traditional way without the freedom of doing what I know works. This makes so much sense as why it felt right to quit and start over. I NEEDED to be free to do what I knew worked and felt right.
I also felt good to not be obligated again and to be free again.

Another young ENFP here (25 years). This video is very true in the context of the fact that Ne and Fi are the functions we know best and function best when using them due to the familarity of the functions. Problem is, Ne and Fi don't help in certain situations, like for eg. staying committed to things. That's because Ne and Fi are rather impulsive, Fi in ENFPs might help staying committed for a longer time when used consciously, like an ENFP is very dedicated to something because it is a part of their internal values, they will stay committed longer to a matter because of Fi. But I found my life to be too chaotic and directionless using Ne and Fi almost constantly. I had to integrate Te, which wasn't always an easy journey but I am very glad I went on it. I don't think I'll ever be as objective as other types but I certainly became more objective - or let's say more matter-of-fact. This helps a lot with making more rationale decisions, that are more based on facts rather than impulses. I still use Fi as a guideline as to what matters to me personally, but am using Te to understand my values better, even correct them if neccessary, and to verbalize them to the people around me. To give a quick overview of how I am making decisions now: Ne (exploration of options), then Fi (pinning down what feels like 'me'), and then Te (does this make sense? Is this a logical decisions? Taking facts and real life matters into consideration and then making a plan on how to go about what I decided). Sometimes I also call on Si, which tells me what experiences I've already made with certain matters, to make sure I don't make the same mistakes twice. There are so many new and shiny mistakes yet to make, I don't need to stumble twice over stuff I've already figured out in the past.
Btw, Te also helped to stop people-pleasing. Now that I've analyzed and am analyzing my values via Te, I know them better and have an easier time staying committed to them, which leads to me not crossing my own boundaries because of impulses. I no longer tell people what they want to hear, but what I think, because it is one of my values to be myself at all times and a big part of me are my thoughts and feelings. So I will tell you what I truly feel and not make myself small or tell someone what they want to hear, because yep, I just wanna be me.

I'm an ENFP and I'm usually so extrovertedly exuberant & impuslive you might mistake me for an ESFP. Difference is, my impusivity is not triggered by external fluctuations, but rather by my vivid imagination and strong desire to change the world. And the only way to make sense of it all is by using my Introvereted Feeling. That's my personal secret - I think through my feelings. And yes, I do ask that question about anything & everything in my life - "does this feel right for me?" But in order to know if it feels right for me, I had to first find the true me ;-)

Everything you said hit me straight in the core. That is my dtd usual process for me. I think that is honestly the best thing about us ENFPs. We can gain so much energy from our external realm, it fels like a dopamine addiction. Experiencing it all, feeling it in, thinking it through (atm XD), cherishing it and take some meaningful aspect of it all with me, in this grand never-ending journey of wanting to try everything , know everyone, and ready to embrace the chaotic contradictive oxymoronic dualities of life.

As a fellow ENFP:, i would like to reassure myself that i'm not alone,
and would like to ask some questions to someone out there who'd be kind
enough to share their thoughts and why not, experiences with me.
    1) Do you feel as if everyone thinks you're a shallow dumb person?
    2) For the most part would you say you wear your emotions on your sleeve?
    3) Do you have this unquenchable thirst for social knowledge and how things work?
    4) Do you often feel that you have a great thought or idea in mind but find it hard to put into words of even explain?
    5) I didn't realize that there were more ENFP women than men, what does this mean to us men?
thanks for answering and god bless wherever you are fellow ENFP brother/sister

    • @GVOESPEE
      @GVOESPEE 6 лет назад +6

      1) Depends on who I'm talking to. Pretty much everyone but Ni lead users find me to be very knowledgeable, and some feel I'm too knowledge, in terms of when people hit you with "Its not that deep"😑 but this is only due to how much knowledge I have gathered using my Ne, and expressng it in ways that provoke thought or feeling. Due to so, I've came across many people who think "I'm really smart" because of how naturally open and somewhat devoted I am in communcating with others, as well as how pragmatic and fast I be talking due to how passionate I am about the many, many, many, many, many interest I hold. This leads nicely into the 2nd answer
      2) I would say for the most part. This is actually a very conflicting matter. I actually so much wish to wear my heart on my sleeve, and to answer your question, majority of the part I do, do that; however we live in a fucked up world man, beacuse of so it bred UNGRATEFUL, DISRESPECTFUL, UNAPPRECIATIVE ass people. I came across many people who don't share the same amount of interest in me, as I do with them. Two things usually happens, either 1 their just not aware, so I put my heart on my sleeve, swallow my pride, and make and effort to express that to them, and they just don't get it because of them or because of me, or they just don't care... 2, same predicament but instead they either act like they care, or take advantage of that vulnerability and just take it, crumble it up, chew on it, then spit it out not realizing that they just fucked over the wrong mf ... Due to so I imagine this being a common struggle for all us ENFPs whuch I think is ACTUALLY CONNECTING WITH PEOPLE. Which I find to be the strangest thing about us because it's easy to do that on oue.... but... we gotta remember.... ther're not us, and people don't see or feel shit the way that I do... So... Then it comes down to who's deserving to see that side of me. Not to imply that I don't put my heart on my sleeve out like that, but more so that I will have a heart on my sleeve, but only to a certain extent. It goes from fucking with everybody, to fucking with a selective few. Which actually really really sucks cause I wish it didn't have to be that way. To continue, as soon I sense a red flag of someone being inconsiderate of my being, then immediate paramaters will be set around my emotions towards them, and an immediate disconnect will fall upon us, and eventually I will stop caring for them and just love em from a far.
      3) Bruh don't even get me started on this one. Short answer. Yes
4)This I have been aware of for a very long time now, and I'm 20. I've been doin a lot of Fi/Te pondering about it, and I have two theories to this. This is more so for cases of when I communicate with people. I noticed that I often ran into this problem, this kind of stuck feeling of either a) find the right words to say, or b) don't have the energy or willingness to express such ideas when I'm hit with things that I have lack of/no knowledge in/of something I'm not all too sure about. Mind you this is only when I'm engaging in FACE TO FACE conversation with people. I think this is due to the pragmatic nature of our Ne/Te being coupled together when we express ourselves to others as we are simultaneously recieving info using our Ne, and give info using our Te ourselves. This is ESPESCIALLY when I'm talking with someone about anything that inspired or encouraged me to get me excited and pumped up about something, or about something I'm already pumped up and excited about, just waiting for the right person to come around so i can share it with them. I think this case is especially so because of how much Ne represses our Si function. Because our Ne is our lead function we are somewhat ADDICTED to new information. So enganing in conversation, and clashing argument structures in order to seek out values, ideals, and beliefs that other hold can provide us huge amounts of dopamien as we're getting to know knew thing/people. This often shows when I'm balls deep in a convo and where talking about a specific point, so I began to use sub points to prove my point, an as the person I'm talking to interjects in their 2 cents (usually a counterargument) attacking one of my subpoints, we'd go into a whole new segue, I'd get so invested in that I'd often run into many mamy instances where I'd suddenly lose train of thought, or forget our original topic of discussion entirely. This ties into why, I generally believe us ENFPs, day in day out are the probably most emotionally intense indiviuals around aside from other lead Fi users like the ESFPs, and the IXFPs. Sinnce we are more Fi active, our feelings having have being developed internally, usually takes on the nature of unpopular beliefs when we express them to people. When we do ( or at least try to) we can come off as weird, quirky, or unique yet somewhat profound. Where more so when we message someone, whether its in writing, text, etc. we come off more so profound, individualistic, open minded, and free spirited because we're actually given time to process the information we percieved using our Ne (which in most cases are too much), feel it out using our Fi, and commumicating through our Te giving very long and immense responses... Kinda like the one I'm giving rn.😂 If we're to have this coonversation in person, depending on how good of a listener and how less of an ass that person I'm talking to is, I couldn't have been able to thought up all this shit, if at all, any of it, Why? Because i wasn't given the TIME to process whatever the hell we're talkin about due to the instant gratification mindstate that has seeped deep down in peoples people/communication skills.... Baaad.👎
      5) Ayyyyyyyyyeeeee more female ENFP women then men.... Where they at thooooooooo.👀👀👀

    • @sharylynn
      @sharylynn 6 лет назад +6

YES YES YES to all of it, except that Im female and dont really know how that affects you as a man. I kinda suspect gender roles and male/female conditioning to be the reason why there are less men that are this type that is so very emotional and feeling. Those are normally traits expected from women and rather frowned upon when men express them. So I think its more likely that Men develop rather 'cold' and analytical personalities, because society expects them to do so and treats them just like that. In my opinion the world desperately needs more Men like you tho :)
And to 1) I can say in my experience, I often struck people as gullible and naive. For example when somebody is messing with me (not necessarily to harm me but just for fun) like telling me something that is not true as a joke, I often initially believe them and when they reveal they were messong with me, Im the 'dumb one'. But I react like that because I always believe in the best of people and I always expect them to be as honest and sincere with me as I am with them. This may be naive in some way, but for me its not because I dont know better or am plain dumb, but because I just dont wanna accept the fact that other people dont necessarily have a heart as pure as Mine (I hope that doesnt sound strange or self-absorbed), so I treat them the way I wanted to be treated, which is being trustworthy and taken seriously.
And I also experienced my thirst for knowledge to be regarded as 'not knowing anything', as Im just asking SO MANY QUESTIONS. I always wanna know EVERYTHING precisely, so I ask and ask and ask so many questions that people may think I dont really understand what theyre saying or that Im easily confused, but from my point of view thats just my way of actually fully comprehending what the other Person is trying to say and making sure that I dont make any false assumptions or misunderstood anything (may it be back then in school about scientific topics or personal stuff in social situations).
Plus, what you said about not being able to put your thoughts in words. I sometimes feel like I cannot even share my knowledge properly because Im lacking the right words or the energy in this Moment. That often really frustrated me.
Sorry for any typos, my phones autocorrect is not used to English grammer and Im not a native speaker.
      Have a great day :)

Hi. I don't know if u will read my answer or not as it's been 3 years since u posted this , but here are my feelings and thoughts-
      1) yes I do feel like people think of me as a shallow and dumb person. I feel this whenevr I am around people most of the time.
      2) yes . That's how I operate in my daily life. And now I feel hollow from the inside. Alot of reasons for that. Do feel free to ask me as I would love to share it with someone.
      3) yes I do. I sometimes ask alot of such questions about how life and people work how society works and try to understand it on a deeper level because I love it and most of the times even my parents can't answer it.
      4) yes. And with time passing I have lost passion for a lot of things and have lost the courage to do alot of things in life.
      5) I don't think it has to mean something. I will have to search this up myself.
Do reply back. I would like to have conversations with u.

      1. Shallow or dumb? Never. I may stay out of it when I sense the audience or person isn’t interested or there isn’t much time or too many people at the table, etc...I go silent.
      2. Emotions on my sleeve? Only with the people I really care about. They get it all! I have a childlike happy delight in life...everyone sees that.
      3. Thirst for knowledge? Yes. :).
      4. Great thought/idea hard to put into words? I journal my thoughts a lot in the morning so I can sort and sift to get to a model of what feels like authentic. truth. Then it is simpler to explain to myself and others.
      5. Men ENFP harder to be one? I think it is a tall order for anyone to be authentic as an ENFP regardless of gender. From others, “you are too emotional and sappy. Or on a positive note: you are so much fun to be with and responsive. The time goes by so fast when we talk. You are delightful!” Does authenticity have a gender? Something to explore..

    • @Ra-oi2hl
      @Ra-oi2hl 3 года назад

      1) shallow? No. Dumb? Yes. I get very excited and fascinated by different things/so many things at an given time and when this happens some people interpret it as me being absent minded or careless. I just have a tendency to express my thoughts and I tend to have a lot of thoughts at once.
      2) yes, I personally believe it’s best to be honest and authentic about my emotions and I think expressing how I feel is better than me holding it in and being misunderstood. I think a lot of people feel the same amount of emotions but just dial it down or keep it to themselves but since Im not afraid to show what I feel it just seems like I wear my emotions on my sleeve.
      3) yes, many times I wish I could try all types of careers and things. It’s so fascinating how so many systems and jobs can exist. Thinking about how they’ve evolved and developed over time is very interesting to me.
      4) yes, since I tend to think a lot of things at once and since I tend to get very excited when talking about things/ideas I’m interested in, I tend to have gaps in my explanations. Like I’ll explain my thoughts but forget that some of the ideas I’m explaining need more context (and that context is usually from another very quick thought I’ve had)
      5) Im a woman but I have two hypotheses: (hypothesis A) perhaps it’s something to do with hormone levels; I’m no bio expert but I was thinking maybe since estrogen levels effect emotions and ENFPs tend to be more emotional, maybe this could be the reason more ENFPs are women. (hypothesis B) it could be something affected by societal beliefs/gender norms. I believe this may affect it more but I think since traditionally men are taught to not express emotions as much and to be tough, maybe since these gender standards are enforced on many boys at a young age, maybe most boys find value in not expressing emotion and maybe this and the situations that stem from not expressing emotion contribute to there being less ENFP men.

Joel, this breakdown and all of the ENFP content of late is incredibly timely.
I left work in July planning to live on savings and write a book. When the dust settled, I soon realized I didn't like not working and earning my living, something I never would have guessed until I was in that headspace. Along comes the story of you and Antonia picking a day trip in Oregon and I immediately recognized the sentiment of having to start down a path to know it's not right.
I flew to Atlanta this last weekend for a wedding and quickly lost myself in being Effective for my friends getting married, rushing around, running errands, doing whatever they needed in the moment just to feel accomplished. While I wouldn't say this was in opposition to my values (as my friends are wonderful people and I was happy to help), it was definitely something I did from a position of not wanting to answer questions about how the big jobless experiment was going. "Endless options" have been my life for the past few months and feeling effective was my way to step back from that. While I was very helpful, I'm sure a few people who wanted to bond with me over the course of the weekend found me moving a million miles an hour instead.
After the wedding, in smaller conversations with friends, I found myself asking each one of them if I could trust them with my current plan to get back to work (including living in LA, which a lot of my hometown ATL friends might not understand). By exposing that I wanted them to see the reality of where I was coming from, I actually got lots of love and support in response instead of the questioning or doubts I had prepped for.
Long story short (too late!), this video and the other material are harmonizing well with my experience right now and I really appreciate the chance to accept my wiring and give myself the Authenticity time.

omg Ian, I see myself so much in your story. I quit my job about 2 months ago and told myself I would explore new opportunities and found something that was a better fit as this was my first job and I wasn't really happy with it however I found myself not liking not working and what I thought would be an exiting time of exploring and learning turned out to be overwhelming and stressful. Now my friends are getting married and I'm helping them with some of the planning but I realize that it's a way for me to feel accomplished by achieving things (sorry if my English is bad, I'm French :) ) anyways.. I hope you're doing better now as it's been a while since you posted this comment. As for me, I'm in the process of figuring what is best for me !

I'm 27 Male ENFP. This breakdown is rather spot on. Both videos I've watched on this channel are.
The nodding head comment was gold, I certainly was. (comments on love)
Embracing the slower pace is certainly the core to growth of my type.
The shortcut method is certainly an exploit I've honed well. (though the mentioned shortcomings of this are just as true).
My 10 year old like effectiveness certainly has made me exploitative, even to the level of criminality.
When my inner wisdom is given an audience it is generally received well, my mouth is far slower than my mind, its difficult to "stay on track", or fully finish a thought though. I'm getting better at fully finishing my thoughts in my "rants" - people tend to get really engaged when i get going and I hate when I sweep up a room but don't really have anywhere to take them.

You all need an organized ENFJ, INTJ, or even INFJ to who understands what you mean and who would be ready to take over where you left off. You folks are starters, not continuers, let alone finishers. Don't go with an ENTJ as they are too cold-blooded, S's wouldn't get it, and P's are too disorganized.

Thanks, Joel. I allow my 10 year old effective mode to do things out of "guilt' or "shoulds." Some examples of these are not speaking up for myself when someone has been rude. (I feel I should always be patient. Things go more smoothly that way.) I stay friends with people I've know a long time just because I've known them a long time. I'm the one that initiates connection. Also, I don't really dress as bohemian as I really am because in my cultural context it might be misunderstood. I am actually growing out of these patterns, tho. I am older and have been on this journey for awhile. I'm so glad you are an ENFP.

my Te had me clumsily trying to choose a career that made sense and working on options that didn't feel right, until I lost sight of who I was and what I wanted from life. My Te had me trying to solve other people's problems (and then getting frustrated that they couldn't see them) rather than taking responsibility for my own emotions - trying to control everything in my environment so that I felt like I had control of myself while my body tensed up and I became a worse and more irritable version of myself.
Getting out of my current situation for a while and taking deliberate time to reflect, be mindful, write, read about yoga sutras to help me detach from my anxieties, read stories and listen to music to carry myself along emotional journeys that help me understand my own, noticing and using my breath to bring myself back into a loving relationship with my body, making the decision to forgive myself and grow. This has helped me return to a more loving yet also more rational mindset.

I am in my element. I’m a financial advisor. I do inspire others. I love helping.
I need to stop trying to please everyone. Because I’m perceptive others rely on me for guidance and sounding board. I love doing this. They see me as the pacesetter, the trailblazers, the fixer of their problems because I listen. However, all this bending over backwards doesn’t benefit me. If I try to explain what I’m dealing with or how I see things, I’m accused of being self absorbed.
I’m a great host and good at marketing and I love it. I make my kids laugh all the time. I inspire my friends, family and coworkers, but no one is available to guide or inspire me.
& so true, when I’m stressed I get super busy, take on multiple project and just go, go, go!
I have been called authentic, and it’s a unique and endearing quality. I like that part of me. I didn’t realize I can use it as my super power.

I am very much a people pleaser and find it difficult to make decisions based on my personal values or what I actually want and believe I should do. Mostly because I have no idea what I actually want. I guess that's the place to start?? What are my core values and how can I make decisions based on those values?

    • @PHJoelMarkWitt

Because with a well developed co-pilot in order, enfp's seem extremely attractive in the sense that it will be able to cooperate very well with my Ti driver.
After which, I suspect the enfp's Ne driver will almost certainly co-opt my Ne co-pilot, and effectively put my entire car as a component in the enfp's engine 😛

UrbanLyrics Funny thing is that PersonalityHacker.com don't consider turbulence so there my results are INFP, but on 16personalities.com I turned out to be an ENFP. :)

We don't really see a change in personality as much as an access to the parts of you that may be different. When I'm depressed I find myself becoming more introverted. And yet - your state of mind will absolutely change how you come out on a test.

    • @PHJoelMarkWitt
      @PHJoelMarkWitt 8 лет назад +1

+UrbanLyrics - Why do you say that ENFPs are the most introverted of the extraverts? Doesn't seem to be my experience or the experience of the ENFPs I've worked with. I'd love to hear more on your perspective.

    • @RockGalMel
      @RockGalMel 7 лет назад +13

+PH Joel Mark Witt It's because Ne is a function that can be used in ways we don't associate with "extroversion" in the colloquial sense, which usually implies more Fe and Se activities. The "most introverted extrovert" phrase is a very common refrain heard about ENFPs in typing forums for that reason. I've encountered ENFPs that run the whole gamut from over-the-top life of the party to fairly reserved homebody, often even in the same person over phases of his or her life.

omg yesh i never know i already done going deeply to this autetichity thingie
    1. my intuition come from heart, God owns our heart , so uts easier for me everytime i wanna follow my intuition i must know what causes and what things that build my authenticity, the things are, true, based on:
    - what we see
    - what we watch
    - what we learn
    - what society told us and so on
these goes deep in spiritual level because human heart often change because of those things, so if i want my intuition to be good, and pure, i have to be in the "place" where everything are all good, my strategies are:
    1. i try to become religious and connect my self strongly to God by do pray sincerely a lot
    2. i unfollow and blocked some toxic influencer on social media, or any harsh content that will bother my inner peace
    3. i make a special social media account (ex: insta), that following some good best role model that i like, good motivated content, religious content, kind and heart warming people, and succesful and humble influencer.. these are all make me learn to keep being good and kind and stay in the right path
so now i realized these weeks i kind of lack of these good intuition because i see other useless things content and forget to see the good one only lol,, so i guess i will filter it again hihi
i hope it helps a lot my enfps pal
    have a greatd day
oh yea my trick is: i always manipulate weakness as strenght so i knpw how to overcome it, in order to become better person, what feels wrong for me will made me change those bad traits, so it kind of helpful because i listen and care so much about my happiness and at how to mantain my self :D

Hi there! This is a great video that I really enjoyed. I hope your open to helping me out a little in understanding ENFPs though. When you are talking about Effectiveness being somewhat problematic, do you mean that its difficult for them to be effective or that its problematic when the action doesn't work with the authenticity? I have a difficult time just starting to be productive in things I think I want to do, and I am still trying to look for what makes me TRULY happy. So should I just do it and embark on a passion even though I am indecisive? Or is that what you mean by we shouldn't use our effectiveness unless it matches with our authenticity or interests?

    • @PHJoelMarkWitt
      @PHJoelMarkWitt 8 лет назад +5

Thanks for the question +Miranda Tyme. I think the biggest thing to remember here is to stay true to yourself as an ENFP. Don't stray from your core values. For example - when I was younger I kept putting off doing things I was passionate about until I "Made enough money." I would start businesses and take jobs because they would get me a goal of more money. I kept delaying my passions. The moment I switched gears (thoughtfully from a place of inner wisdom) and starting pursuing my passions first - the money has actually come too. I wish I could go back and trust my gut more and not defer my life.
      Does that make sense?

But how do you know when, should i just let go? Will i know when the time is right to make a decision if the 'right' one is too far away to reach at the moment? When do you stop thinking about it and make a decision allready? You dont allways have all the time in the world right?

I have got myself into a mess by allowing my 10 year old to drive too often in my career as a vet, and specifically with euthenasing of animals. I am hurt in the area of death/trauma and started to base my decisions on ending the life of a pet on what would be the most advantages outcome for the owner and other parties, instead of questioning what is right, especially for the animal. Thereby I violated my moral values in some cases, which led to a great deal of guilt, anxiety and depression.

    This is difficult.
    1. For. *REAL.*
"Before you get into action, take a moment to check in with your inner wisdom..."
*NOT* doing that is where *ALL* my regrets come from (at root).
    2. Now..
I do *not* want, nor will I offer, support/anyone to have my back "no matter what/the 'fight.'"
    No.
What I *do* want/need, is support to make sure I'm checking in with my inner wisdom, feedback regarding my "blindspots" (cuz, well, let's be honest, sometimes my/our heads are crammed up them/it 😂), and ultimately, support/have my back to make sure I'm "'fighting' The Right 'fight,'" so to speak.
And, that is exactly what I do for others.
Those/that right there gets *SO* misunderstood, and is absolutely disheartening & depressing to me.
    It looks like this:
"Ah come on, I thought/felt you knew me by now... I'm not intent on being antagonistic, I'm just vetting potential blindspots & (ipso facto/in conclusion) authenticity.
This quote came to me (& is essentially my Credos):
"I wear my Heart on my sleeves.
People's responses, tells me less about me."
    Feedback?
    🤔🙏🏼

Im becoming like this after i people pleased 39 years of my life (uconsciously). I thought all those years it was the right thing to do. Until i got very close to someone who is very cold and logical. Over the years i was able to activate and more logical way of processing my sentimentality. I am much better now thank goodness. I no longer felt like i helped the world but at the end of the day i am lonely. Now my mind tells me that i am not responsible for people’s happiness etc outside of the time spend with me in parties or gathering. I don’t have to feel like i need to emotionally invest on people’s well-being leaving myself with nothing in the end which starts an evil cycle of now wanting to keep entertaining people just to feel validated. Uh uh. No more. This ENFP will start using logic and reason. If it isn’t my monkey then it isn’t my circus.

Would somebody please give me example of daily events with how ENFP vs INFP would react?
I've been taken so many online "claim to be mbti" test. And I'll almost always get INTP. But I don't think I'm resonate so much with Fe or Ti. Meanwhile, I take another test and Personality Hacker test too, then I got INFP. But I also don't think Fi is my dominant. Even tho I'm quite reserved, shy, and prefer to has small circle conversation around new people, I just think I might be the non-stereotypical ENFP, kinda like Enola Holmes or Elizabeth Bennet (2005). Also.. this video resonate with me so much.

I enjoyed the video but I feel as though this video is just descriptive of my earlier stages of life... I am now battling the more challenging aspects of being an ENFP that you did not touch on and may not even understand. I guess most people get stuck at a lower level of development so they need help with that and the common wisdom is to help people with that... leaving less information out there to help with the deeper issues that crop up in later stages of development. So I want to say well done, but keep improving.

Not too different, since they both are in the NF temperment. More so in terms of how they process info, and where do they get their energy from or what drains our energy is where they differ. I suggest looking up DaveSuperPowers, and look up vids about both type. If you ever do look it up, pay attention to the human needs segments of the vids. I'd start off here.
