What a gorgeous Cadillac!!!! From the tips of the Dagmar Bumpers to the tips of the glorious tail fins & all the great stuff in the middle!!!! The best of the fifties!!!! 👍👍🙂
Soooo glad you’re back Charles, I have missed ‘Joyride” - looking forward to many more - should I mention your DeSoto again; still Looking forward to a review of that little beauty!! Keep them coming mate - cheers!
Thank you Charles. I was missing your JOYRIDE series and you outdid yourself with this beautiful Cadillac. Great color combo and the factory a/c makes it a year round cruiser.
Thought this series was dead. Glad to see you’re still making cool, fun vids with your signature over-the top, detail-obsessive personality ✨ Btw tell the owner I said “nice car”
Thank you, Charles. It's good to see you, hear you actually. What a beautiful car. I should have bought one of those several years ago, when I might have been able to afford it.
Thanks for doing a JOYRIDE with the 56 Cadillac Charles! I have had a white 56 coupe since 1975 (mine is all white with red interior). It was my first car (it was almost 20 yo then) and i never sold it... I'm now in my 60's and restoring it. It has always ran but needed an overhaul. It's part of the family. If you like 56 Caddys, check out Corvette Ben's RUclips on his sedan.
Thank you for keeping that car. I wish Id' kept my fit car I bought when I was a Jr. in HS. I did keep it 22 years but sold it for another dream machine.
You sir, are a beacon of light amid the mundane machinations of mediocrity. Your perspective on such an orgy of opulence is truly awe-inspiring. Thank you so much for all you do!
I always loved the '56 Caddy in particular. The front is SCREAMING 1950's. i had the fortune to drive one and you feel like a King behind the wheel. The red roof on this one is stunning.
I own a 1957 Cadillac series 62 Coupe DeVille survivor. Something you would have found in the back row in the late '60s. Rebuilt engine and transmission, but so many things are wrong with it, but I'll fix her up, including moving the seat back three inches and making a special brackets that I welded up. Just an old beater survivor Cadillac, with original worn paint
My stepdad had one of these. It was mint white/white interior. He was an attorney who was involved in baby trafficking. I drove the '56 a few times....smooth.
Tell me about the wrap-around glass - front & back. Tell me! And an electronic 👁... Wait: a hidden gas cap...in the driver’s side tail lamp...OMG!! A car 1 year older than me: a glorious classic...Thanks for the trip back in time.
1956 was the first year Hydra-Matics had a "Park." Before that you put it in reverse for the parking lock. I've heard the 56 transmissions were troublesome with many failures. But 56 is still one of my favorite Cadillacs.
I think seriously 1956 American cars were the best designed, be cause perhups they had just ornamental pieces under a relative austerity, in comparisson to a 1957 models. If yoy see a 1956 Lincoln Continental you will notice the same, grill design is oerfect, tail lights look in it just measure. After, all looks for me like _to much_ , almost bad taste, exageration of recurses of design. And the answer is due designers for 1956 models, bassed their designes on to Italian cars, they had then that ellegant austerity, same for 1956 Chrysler 300 or DeSoto. There was a certain homologation between American cars wich is clear watching this Cadillac. Kisses and huggs for all watchers from 🇨🇱 Santiago, capital of Chile, SouthAmerica. PD: What beautiful neigborhoods you have, men. 😍
Is that red leather factory ? I read that hardtops had cloth interiors and only convertibles had leather ?? that's a lot red !! That's the first batwing air filter housing I saw that was chromed. Beautiful car ! Can't wait to drive mine.
Ever notice how the cars from back then, had the make logo and name, in many places inside and outside of the car, now a daze, you have to look really hard to even find a logo or name of the make or model, anywhere on the car.
you own the road when in driving within that red bordello on wheels...people get out of your way. I luv my '58, but really '56 was the last year for the Standard of the World...much higher quality...superb detail. minor nit...the real batwing was on the twin carb eldo engine...the standard single carb air cleaner is sometimes called batwing, but really isn't, and once you see the eldo engine, you'll know why.
My father had a 56 Cadillac sedan. What a beautiful tank!
YES! Joyride is back! Love these videos Charles. They are world class national treasures. Behold the glory!
Ditto...

Rare car with Sabre Wheels and factory AC.

Beautiful Car! Never seen this color combo before.
I dont' think it left the factory that way. You'd have to check the paint codes on the data plate.

Verry verry Nice. 😍 i love dose cars a lot. Way better than new cars
Lol…..I love this guy! Joyride is such a pleasure to watch.

While this Caddy's a beaut, the mid-century home 2:24 it's parked in front of frames it quite nicely and is period appropriate!
The Epitome of Quality !

Приятно так кататься
I had a 1955 series 62 coupe that had crank windows. Duel heating and air conditioning. I really liked it and gas mileage wasn’t too bad.
1956 was the first year Hydra-Matics had a "Park." Before that you put it in reverse for the parking lock. I've heard the 56 transmissions were troublesome with many failures. But 56 is still one of my favorite Cadillacs.
Timeless
You need to do a video on a 60 comet to make me feel good about my car. 🙂

Yes, it is
For everyone's information .... Those pods at the base of the rear window are for the air conditioning system
I know! Its excellent!
Didn't open the trunk. How many bodies were in there.
B-58 Bingo.
Ever notice how the cars from back then, had the make logo and name, in many places inside and outside of the car, now a daze, you have to look really hard to even find a logo or name of the make or model, anywhere on the car.
Nah our car has the name on the sides and back. Harder to find the actual brand name since most are now a simple symbol
56 Cadillacs even had the year of the car on the dashboard as if it were a celebration. No one has that kind of spirit today.
😮❤️😎💋🎯
Glorious Indeed, just couldn't figure out we're the a/c vents were at? 🤔
On the rear package shelf evaporator unit is in the trunk. The tudor was known to freeze rear passenger's Neck
A little
4 door CAD clear tubes. Going to vents in the Headliner Like an Airplane
Dreamy
Where are the AC vents? I don't KNOW.
I know...
Do you still have it
Can’t share to my FB. Wrong title. 1962 Chevrolet Impala.
Sorry, we fixed that ...
is it for sale?
Chevrolet hid their gas cap under the left tail light in 1956, too.

Thank you letting me know! I love learning from the audience!
Only thing that i don't like about all caddy I don't have 1😥
THAT....is an automobile!
Liberace Gay!! I know!! Lol! Love ya Charles.
Exhaust shouldn't be that loud. It's obviously a repaint with a lot of body work. I wonder what the white paint is hiding? Still, it's an OK driver.
When the cars of the fifties were gorgeous, why did they change the model every year? After one year your expensive car was obsolete
Nobody remembers who Dagmar was.
Looks like a BONDO wagon?
Yes, there were some body issues...but it's still a symphony of styling!
Fantastic car with a wonderful shape.
But the owner... does he bought his clothes in a 2nd hand shop?
Probably buys his vintage clothes at SNEAKY TIKI in Long Beach!
Oh what a dear darling you are 🤭
$$$ ??? $ALE. ???
TOTAL drama queen
