    hi guys, i’ve been made aware that something has happened that is not and will not ever be okay nor tolerated. a user took time out of their day to summarize this video for the people who didn’t want to watch this video, and they started getting attacked and getting hate, and even getting a death threat over mentioning the user ppeu_1H. this user is a MINOR and only did something to help their community, and i feel the need to speak out about this because this all came from my video.
    both this user and i, multiple times, called PP an alleged sasaeng, but that they follow and even TRAVELED with S2SeobS2, the Jongseob sasaeng who followed him while he was a minor. i mention this in PP’s section, that i came across them because they were interacting with S2. PP was with S2 while in Mexico, and was very disrespectful to MY country and people, which is why i called it out.
    also, PP *STILL* follows S2, both of Podo’s accounts, and someone who is harassing the user who summarized this video, if that is not telling of who this person surrounds themself with, idk what to say. DO NOT send death threats or harass ANYONE, doing that makes you a coward.
    i’m sorry for being so serious with this, but this has made me so sad and angry that something so traumatizing could come out of my video. if the user who made the thread is reading this, i am so sorry that this came out of this, you deserve none of this.

    "the interesting thing is when i told them [piwon] that i would be going to mexico their reactions were all different. taeyang [theo] told me not to go there alone and was worried, jiung just liked it [in the sense of he was happy to hear that shes going i suppose], keeho, because i was worried, told me that its all places where people live [probably in the sense of it not being as dangerous as ppeu makes it out to be since theres people living there and being safe too, his wording sounds rather indifferent] ㅋㅋㅋ after jiung came back [she doesnt state from where] i showed him my travel pictures and he said he likes that its romantic [MAJOR AUTHORS NOTE: romantic is not in the sense of love, but rather in the sense of being idealistic or dreamy, like when a scenery looks romantic] ha... romantic... i had a hard time calling it that [romantic] but a while ago i showed my friend the same pictures and she also called it romantic. so i asked him [jiung] if thats [whatever was on the travel pics] was also on his bucket list and he said yes. [the next part seems like its in retrospect of the trip] though it was also on my bucket list... honestly it wasnt romantic but it became a memory that i wont be able to forget in my life!"
    basically throughout the whole tweet shes just sh!ttalking mexico... im so sorry for yall sending love from europe xx

    I agree that it'd be treated differently if the genders were reversed, but you'd be surprised at what kpop stans give a pass - i can only speak on twice but i assume many ggs have similar fans. Twice members were on their survival show as young as 15, and have had adult male fans in their twenties and up following them religiously ever since & to this day (nowadays the fandom is mostly female though). Some of these fans (not naming but iykyk....) are big name fans who are well known in the fandom, but nobody seems to care or see a problem with their behaviour. Grown adult men have followed twice since they were FIFTEEN, attending every single show, event, fansign etc all over the world, and very few people see how creepy this is. The people who do this are praised as "real fans". This is an obsession miles beyond these piwon sasaengs and as a young woman, if i were in twice's position i'd be deeply uncomfortable constantly seeing these men everywhere, and yet these dudes get a pass because of how much money they put in jype's pockets

    i'd recommend using papago translator instead of google translate! it's much more reliable and gives a more accurate translation, though the best translation you'll get is from fluent speakers. also just some notes - sometimes korean will omit pronouns if the subject is obvious which makes it a lot harder to translate word for word when not given proper context. so sometimes "me" or "he/she" is added when using a translator to give context, but it's not always correct

    Honestly the whole covering her face in the photo at the concert isn’t surprising. Fansites in general are all (for the most part) very protective of their identities. I went to a fansign in Korea and posted videos that didn’t include any of the peoples faces but I got a message from a fansite saying I needed to remove the videos because it has the BACK OF PEOPLES HEADS in it! Like wtf are yall so afraid of people recognizing you that you don’t even want the back of your head in a video at a fansign. After that I look at fansites with a lot of suspicion even the ones that don’t straight up stalk them because regardless the way I saw people yelling at members to do certain poses was weird and definitely gave me the “I spent money give me attention” that you talked about in the video. Literally one fansite told a member to puff out his cheeks and he said back that he didn’t want to because his cheeks are already “squishy enough” but she insisted and was basically yelling across the room so ended up just doing it, later I saw that picture and the urge to block her was so strong and this is one of the normal fansites like not a stalker and international fans would assume they’re a good person to follow. Side note she wasn’t the only one yelling or I guess talking loudly. There were multiple people doing it especially the ones who brought props for them to wear. Like they would tell them what poses to do. Also just taking pictures of the members outside as they walked into the venue of the fansign still felt odd to me. I felt like I shouldn’t have been there even though it was just a coincidence I was there because I was still trying to figure out how to get into the venue (it was underground and I was so confused while trying to find the entrance 🫠). So yeah idk in general I feel like the line between sasaeng and fansite is so minuscule because they interact with the members so regularly it may be hard for them to realize that they are just a fan because the members technically do know these people and will recognize them typically they members will even know their names.
    Great video and I hope you continue covering sasaengs because there are so many and they deserve to be called out. Also looking forward to the studio pav video. I’ve been to many of their tours even went to vav’s tour a few weeks ago. I haven’t had any bad experiences but I am side eyeing them because of the price jumps like I have tickets to see onlyoneof but I will not be buying snapshots because a bury polaroid ain’t worth $80 (plus tax)

Anyone who is obsessed with a child's looks is extremely sus, even if it's a fan of an artist like I hope someone stops them from profiting and following them.

I never thought the space would get so big bc i only had like 300-400 followers😭the person who joined the space and had the panic attack was podocookie. it was such a shitty time for me bc i ended getting death threats for not knowing how to mute podo while she was having the panic attack. also i didnt think it would escalate so fast when creating that space😭 i just wanted to talk to my moots about the ssngs and try to clear things up because i was confused 😭 but it ended up making things worse. im not as active on p1ece twt bc it affected me so much 😭

    I personally don't think it's problematic to attend as many concerts as you can afford of your fave(s). If I had the money, I'd probably see my faves as much as i I could. That being said, it's pretty clear these people are stalking these groups based on their choices of accommodation, following them EVERYWHERE, gaming the system to take pictures of them etc.
    Also just wanted to say I really enjoy your content. It's so unique and interesting and, a breath of fresh air compared to how bait heavy and clickbaity non-reaction kpop content tends to be on here.
    Last note, I don't speak Spanish but, I like the bits you sprinkle in throughout your videos. Also, as an African kpop stan, my eyebrow definitely raised along with yours when that saesang said she was scared of going to Mexico. Many people tend to be very gross and xenophobic about South America and Africa.

    Kpop has a serioussss problem with parasociality that leads to this behavior. I know that every genre has its stalkers, but in kpop it seems like there is way too much representation of them in the general population. Makes me wonder how many “regular” fans would turn into saesangs if they had the money because emotionally they’re already there.
    The company is also absolutely at fault because they could block ticket sales to these stalkers, have security prevent them from entering events/concerts, charter private jets, and institute other safety measures, but they don’t cuz they want the money smh

    Omg.. I've been a fan of kpop music for approximately 6 years, just listening to it and watching my fav groups' shows once in a while, but never actually following the news and stuff like that. But since discovering p1harmony I became a huge fan and want to support them as much as I can in my free time, gathering votes in voting apps, posting about their comeback on social media etc, because they literally saved my live at some point (so cliché, I know). So when I saw the title I got so frustrated and clicked to watch so quickly to see what happened. that's the first time I actually watch something like this... Want to thank you for the research, I'm kind of naive and often can't read between the lines, so your perception showed me a lot.

One friend said that he didn't take/bring his phone ((I'm assuming to take photos of a member with?)) and told me to bring my phone with to the next city. I think a lot of the media portraying Mexico/ South America mainly focuses on the drug/crime scene and that girl is most likely saying she's scared due to the overgeneralisation of the entire continent -_-. I think colourism comes into play because there are freaks in the UK, Australia (I live there so trust, I know 💀) and Korea, but because those countries are assumed to have a higher white/korean population, people will deem it as more 'safe'. She's probably thinking of the racist stereotypes of POC, mainly black, brown, and latinx people being aggressive, criminals, scary etc.

    Everytime you talk about the amount of money S2 or the other sasaengs spent on, I couldn't help but think of the Vine boom sound effect. Yeah it's their money and they could do whatever they want with it, but.....is it really worth it? I also couldn't help but laugh when you said "The screen isn't going anywhere." when choierrys2 brought in a big ass camera and multiple lenses to the cinema. It's just the absurdity bringing such an item to a cinema when they could've just used their phone. The quality would've still been good and it doesn't need to be 100% HD.

    [a comment with positive intention that won't waste your time i promise]
    hello! i'm a p1ece who have always preferred not to join the community if i join a fandom (basically: i'm a p1ece and i didn't know this ) and this has always caused me to not get portions of crucial informations and even if i get them, i get them the latest. the thing is this preference was for my mental health, but at the same time as a fan, knowing which media i can pick to consume or even which photographers to support to when providing pictures for me, can contribute to whether or not i support p1harmony's mental health and wellbeing and also the p1ece affected... makes me feel "wary". the least we can do is not to support these sasaengs, make it more difficult for them to affect other's wellbeing and good time whether it is reporting their account from afar or reporting them if you see them in a venue. i just wanna say thank you for the great video for informing me and help me understand better what's happening!

    • @duckypato
      @duckypato  5 месяцев назад

      thank you for your insight! i also like to know what kind of photographers to support so i definitely get where you’re coming from. and i know that for some touring agencies, especially ones that work with kpop groups/idols, they say that if you see someone with a bunch of cameras and who looks suspicious, to let them know and they will deal with them, but i know that this has also caused some regular fans (mainly asian ones) getting wrongly accused of being a sasaeng. i hope there is a better way of these sasaengs not being able to get close to the people they stalk, like a company blacklist or something. anyway, thank you for watching and for commenting, it means a lot! ☺️

    I attended a stop on P1harmony’s first ever world tour and the stop I was at apparently a Sasaeng was there and they were escorted out by security.
    My friend and I were confused about what was going on because neither of us knew what was happening or who the Sasaeng was because we weren’t on stan Twitter but other fans who were around us knew and were like “it’s okay don’t give them the attention on Twitter just know they’re crazy and need to leave” and we were both like oh…. Okay😂
    Not P1harmony related but their company senior SF9 also did a world tour not that long ago. I attended their show in the same city as I did the P1 show and they had a whole group of Sasaengs from Korea there also😭 only one girl had a ticket to the show the other four kept walking back and forth by the gates to try and sneak in. The one Sasaeng who had a ticket kept trying to get into the building before we were allowed to by telling the worker at the door they were cold and needed to go inside and that they needed to go to the bathroom so the worker should let her in to which they said no. After soundcheck we had to get out and she kept asking the worker inside to let her stay inside the building since it’s too cold outside and they had to continuously tell her to get out because she wouldn’t leave. Sasaengs are so crazy and for what?😭💀

    Idk how these sasaengs afford this, but it’s not only creepy, but idols that have these obsessive fans should take legal action. Like imagine seeing a fan at a concert, then a fansign, then your hotel, AND on your flights?!? Nah man I could never. I get it, I’ve been called obsessive by my friends (who aren’t kpop fans) and by some family (obsessive like always thinking about them), but I wouldn’t even go close to these lengths. i have a feeling that 탐라 (tamra) could be like an abbreviation of timeline (which is something that Korean’s use quite often in texts)
    I could be wrong as Korean isn’t my native tongue but it’s just something that feels like it’d make sense in the context of the tweet. “I’m sorry for disturbing [your] timelines (tamra) because of these little things”. I could be wrong but i feel like it fits!
    탐라 =?= 타임라인
    Tamra =?= Timeline
    Anyway doesn’t matter i just know these people are actually sick in the head regardless ☝️
