Hi Sir, This is my wife's feedback about SQL session. She is from Non-IT background and looking to move her career in IT. She is following SQL series, when I asked her about the session she told like " He has the best Teacher Qualities and he is explaining the topics in very clear and understandable manner. And doing RECAP in same session. This course is more than paid course. Really Big Thank you Sumit sir.
I have enrolled in the paid course by some hotshot who has designed courses on top Edtech companies and is working in a MAANG company, but his sessions are, to put it mildly, below average. His sessions proved that one can be personally good at some skill, but that doesn't necessarily mean one can teach it. Sumit Sir takes the pain of explaining the simplest things which the so-called IIT alum/MAANG company employees don't think necessary when teaching an absolute beginner. Good teachers like Sumit Sir will never go out of fashion. Thanks for freely sharing your knowledge with the world.
Most authentic way to grasp SQL language essentials while literally leaving aside all the jargonic definitions that make it look like such a massive experience.
Makes me passionate to listen and understand the subject, I am a slow learner and from these sessions I learned pellucidly. Became a fan of sir's teaching
"I appreciate your teaching style, as it is clear, precise, and easy to understand. As a Network Engineer interested in transitioning to the Data side, I have taken a few Udemy courses, but yours is exceptional and stands out. Once I finish these videos, I plan on purchasing your Big Data course. Thank you for your dedicated efforts in creating this valuable content."
I watched a lot of session on SQL to gain knowledge deeply but here it is very interesting never seen before like that hereby sumit mittal sir explained with full of enery and dedication. Universities and institutes should have instructor like them.
Hi Sumit Sir, I have tried many times to learn SQL and this is the very first time and able to understand everything clearly from basics. I have one request, I escape from coding because I don't have my basics strong. Can you pls start one series for that too with DSA and any one of programming language (e.g python)? It will be really helpful for lots of students.
@@vyshnavis236 i mean the questions where can I get the basic questions to start off first.........and don't tell me to go and practice from leetcode or hackerank cuz there the easiest questions are also very difficult
Sir can you give us questions ranging from beginner to intermediate level after the session gets over on the topics that you taught us in that session. What all questions can be framed in interview and what all questions you should know regarding this topic! else some references that are easy to understand and won't cost too much time to read.
This session is wow! Though i know sql but you clearedmy basic doubts like binary, difference between dml and ddl, delete vs truncate. I want to join your course. Please let me know details.
35:35 Delete - Deletes some records from the table based on condition (DML) Truncate - Deletes all the records from the table (DDL) You have explained here both are similar but languages are different. @trendytechinsights
Hey there, god bless your efforts. How to retrieve records deleted by a delete function in sql? Since i learned that i can roll back data if i apply delete function. Thanks for your help.
Hello Sir Thanks for amazing playlist. Its really very helpful to master SQL. Great way of teaching. Can we get script which you have used in sessions.
Question: desc employee =; gives the description of the table, we used alter to change the data structure, is there a command to change the default location 'bangalore' in the table itself, please advise
Nice explanation. , but @36:32 you mentioned TRUNCATE is going to drop table and recreate looks it is a false statement if its drop the table suppose it has primary key and references in other table as FK , that relation might impact too , I dont think it will drop table and recreates , instead it will delete all the data in single shot and which we cant roll back also it will reset some fileds like ROWID , so TRUNCATE is DDL , correct me if I am wrong ..!
truncate command will fail in a case when the primary key of that table is used inside other table. But the theory behind truncate is same it drops the table and then recreate it
Hi Sir, Your videos are very informative. I had just one question regarding ALTER Command. What if we want to drop an AUTO INCREMENT column. If it is possible then which command of ALTER should we use as i have used "ALTER TABLE employee DROP AUTO_INCREMENT". My primary key is also that same column. Thanks for your response in advance!
Is their any command who helps to regain the previous data if we have updated the table with new data? Can't we use primary key and unique key in 2 consecutive line? Can we use auto incrimination without using primary key at that row?
Sir, i want to edit the column name . Let's say i have written "moble_no", but i want to correct that to "mobile_no" How can I do that? {I tried: alter table "name" modify column moble_no int(15) = mobile_no int(15);}
delete from employee will also render its structure, i.e. the structure of the table then why is it DML and not DDL? if we say delete a single row from data then it will be a DML ?
It is not impacting on the table structure. When we delete it will impact on the data of that table not the structure. If you delete 1 row or multiple rows all are same. so that's why it's DML not DDL
can someone help me with the error.. update employee set lastname="xyz" where firstname="abcde" Error Code: 1175. You are using safe update mode and you tried to update a table without a WHERE that uses a KEY column. To disable safe mode, toggle the option in Preferences -> SQL Editor and reconnect. 0.000 sec
i am getting this error alter table employee drop primary key; ERROR 1075 (42000): Incorrect table definition; there can be only one auto column and it mus t be defined as a key
Truncate is different from Drop & Recreate. Incase of Truncate, row-by-row entries are not added that will clutter the transaction logs. In case of Drop & Recreate, associated objects like triggers and indexes will be destroyed and the permissions have to be recreated, which would be an overhead.

Alter table employee drop unique key is not working. Can anyone help??
can someone help me with the error..

Error Code: 1175. You are using safe update mode and you tried to update a table without a WHERE that uses a KEY column. To disable safe mode, toggle the option in Preferences -> SQL Editor and reconnect. 0.000 sec
i am getting this error

Can you prove that truncate drop a table and recreate it?
you can try it. In Back end it first drop the table and then recreate it.that's why it is faster then delete.
Truncate internally drops the table and recreate it....Sir here what does recreate means??
Truncate is different from Drop & Recreate. Incase of Truncate, row-by-row entries are not added that will clutter the transaction logs. In case of Drop & Recreate, associated objects like triggers and indexes will be destroyed and the permissions have to be recreated, which would be an overhead.
can we rename the existing column name
yes use this
alter table table_name rename column old_name to new_name;
