    Hi Sir,
    This is my wife's feedback about SQL session. She is from Non-IT background and looking to move her career in IT. She is following SQL series, when I asked her about the session she told like " He has the best Teacher Qualities and he is explaining the topics in very clear and understandable manner. And doing RECAP in same session. This course is more than paid course. Really Big Thank you Sumit sir.

    I have enrolled in the paid course by some hotshot who has designed courses on top Edtech companies and is working in a MAANG company, but his sessions are, to put it mildly, below average. His sessions proved that one can be personally good at some skill, but that doesn't necessarily mean one can teach it. Sumit Sir takes the pain of explaining the simplest things which the so-called IIT alum/MAANG company employees don't think necessary when teaching an absolute beginner. Good teachers like Sumit Sir will never go out of fashion. Thanks for freely sharing your knowledge with the world.

    Hi Sumit Sir,
    I have tried many times to learn SQL and this is the very first time and able to understand everything clearly from basics. I have one request, I escape from coding because I don't have my basics strong. Can you pls start one series for that too with DSA and any one of programming language (e.g python)? It will be really helpful for lots of students.

    Delete - Deletes some records from the table based on condition (DML)
    Truncate - Deletes all the records from the table (DDL)
    You have explained here both are similar but languages are different.

    Nice explanation. , but @36:32 you mentioned TRUNCATE is going to drop table and recreate looks it is a false statement if its drop the table suppose it has primary key and references in other table as FK , that relation might impact too , I dont think it will drop table and recreates , instead it will delete all the data in single shot and which we cant roll back also it will reset some fileds like ROWID , so TRUNCATE is DDL , correct me if I am wrong ..!

    • @timetotravelsomewhere
      @timetotravelsomewhere 19 дней назад

      truncate command will fail in a case when the primary key of that table is used inside other table. But the theory behind truncate is same it drops the table and then recreate it

    delete from employee will also render its structure, i.e. the structure of the table then why is it DML and not DDL?
    if we say delete a single row from data then it will be a DML ?

    • @amannegi1729
      @amannegi1729 Год назад

      It is not impacting on the table structure. When we delete it will impact on the data of that table not the structure. If you delete 1 row or multiple rows all are same. so that's why it's DML not DDL

    • @amannegi1729

      you can try it. In Back end it first drop the table and then recreate it.that's why it is faster then delete.

  • @saurabhtekale5084

    Truncate internally drops the table and recreate it....Sir here what does recreate means??

    • @sumitmittal07
      @sumitmittal07  2 года назад +2

      Truncate is different from Drop & Recreate. Incase of Truncate, row-by-row entries are not added that will clutter the transaction logs. In case of Drop & Recreate, associated objects like triggers and indexes will be destroyed and the permissions have to be recreated, which would be an overhead.
