- Here’s a little story about one of Penn’s most embarrassing moments, which also happens to be one of the world’s worst job interviews. Do you think Diane will forgive him?

But while the interview was wrapping up, they asked if I had any questions, and I asked, "What's your average day, working for [OTHER company that I have an interview scheduled with]

But if you had gotten the job you would be a different person now.
You’d still be working for other people, living life the ways others dictate instead of mapping your own life freely, with your own business the way you have the freedom to do now.
And I would bet your kids would be growing up with a dad too busy with work to spend much time with them.
AND we wouldn’t have all the joy you bring us from your videos.
But you know all this.
We love you. We are glad you didn’t get the job. Keep the great stuff coming!

This is definitely something that would happen to me. I have turned so many great interviews into a train wreck. 😂 I’m your case, I’m so inspired by the way you turned this around. And your children get both their parents home , open space outside of NYC, and lots of laughter. What a blessing.

I have to completely agree! Penn you didn't get that job because the Lord knew that you, Kim, Lola, Penn Charles, and Sunny were needed for a higher purpose! Y'all have literally been our saving grace with every video you have made since we found you in December 2019! And we have seen all your videos from before as well! Your family has been one big blessing for my family to keep positive & faithful! We can never thank you enough! Please don't stop! God bless your family!🙏❤
To be honest, if that’s the reason you didn’t get the job, you probably would have been miserable. Some people are legends in their own mind. No body is any smarter or better than another person. They just have different experiences.

So Sorry you didn't make the Network, but that was hilarious. I was in TV & Radio News and had dreams of being the next Barbara Walters. That dream faded when after a great package.. I went to the News Director to see what he thought and he said, "Next time use more hair spray". Yeah.. I was bummed! I stayed in news for about 6-more years. Now I'm a voice over talent and much happier. :)
Still really shallow of her if she knew it was an innocent mistake. On the other hand, the cesspool that news has become, its probably a big blessing!!! I love how kind you two are to each other! Great example for all married couples!!

Oh poor Penn but that had me cracking up haha. I’ve definitely had a few crappy job interviews as well. Once I had one over the phone and when I failed to answer her question twice I just hung up and blocked her 😅

This happens a lot. I remember during my time as a customer service representative being called Margaret, Kelly, and one time, Stephen! Ahhh...the good ole days.
Totally something I would do! That’s why I just never say anyone’s name out loud, ever. Because in my head I’m always second guessing myself. It’s ok Penn! Wasn’t meant to be….
You would have had to follow a script. You wouldn't be sharing your talents and your beautiful family with all of us. You even cause us serious folks to crack a smile! :)
When wrapping up an interview, I say "it's been great meeting you, too !" BUT I make sure I never use their name, out of the same concern. After a multi-hour technical interview, my brain is fried. So the likelihood of making a similar mistake is pretty high.

My mother said she once had the weirdest job interview ever to a grocery store and she had the job for like 6 months to a year. She would keep switching rooms and their were 3 people interviewing her.
The first asked her questions like “do you know the grocery store?” And “Do you know why your here?”
The second just left
The third asked to leave her contact information and she was hired.

Haha, oh no!! I know my worst job interview was right after leaving the military. The kid interviewing me must have been 18 or 19. He was asking me about my experience in work. My only experience to date was the military (and a job at kmart when I was 16) but I start talking about the military and everything. Im looking at this kid who had never seen anything like what I describing and probably never would. I mean it was a job at dominos... so maybe good I didn't get it. But I think I intimidated that poor kid.

It's happened to me as well... not with a celeb, but with an acquaintance that I thought was someone else because they looked similar... Most embarrassing thing EVER. I always laugh when you call it The RUclips... we had a grandparent who told us to ask one of her daughters, who has Amazon's number... she's sure they'll be able to help us find this item.... 🤣

I'm a new sub & fan. Love both of your YT channels. 1st- I think it was providence that Penn accidentally called Diane, Barbara. What you do as a family with your songs, blogs, etc., bring smiles to so many faces. In a world gone crazy at the moment, your channels are a breath of fresh air & we come away feeling positive ~ thank you for that.
2nd ~ No offense, especially as Kim likes Diane, but seriously you dodged a bullet Penn working with someone that is so shallow that you weren't hired simply because you goofed on her name. Diane Sawyer could've laughed it off ~ I'm sure you weren't the first with this blunder and I would also bet that Diane has also in her life accidentally called someone by the wrong name. You & your family don't need all the blustery, super-sized egos that come with Network News, especially right now. So consider this experience Diene Sawyer's loss and RUclips's gain.
