I dont know if this answers your question but in general the German soldiers preferred Fighting in the West over Fighting the Russian because the typical US soldier was in no hurry to die far from home in a war he had no Real Business in (Same today with Our boys in the middle east, I think they would also prefer waiting for air Support over running in enemy fire) and the second thing is that surrendering was a real Option (every one knew it was over by 44)
Shout out for the US armored crew for keep playing as tank crew. I would just ditch the tank and play as infantry if i see that Vade is on the tank seat.

I guess the Tiger II would be too OP if used against Fireflys or Cromwells. Also the Devs try to be historically accurate, but idk if Tiger IIs were used on other maps.

Also considering that the British-Canadian forces were fighting the Germans in terrain better suited for armoured warfare chances were much higher you'd encounter King Tigers. Personally I don't think considerations of 'OP' should be brought into the equation. Its a tactical shooter, so tactics need to come first and formost in handling dangerous adversaries.

When the update came I didn't follow it and somehow missed the introduction of the KT so the first time I saw it was a shock, until I killed it just the same
I respect this game for it's attention to detail and somewhat accuracy. However it would make it even more wonderful if the infantry and supporting forces could behave in a coordinated and supporting way to your vehicle. A tiger should never be alone, and it would be so impressive if a squad of fans or other gamers could follow behind in a halftrack as your panzergrenadiers. Not only are these critical to protecting the tank, but they exploit the breakthrough and battlefield domination it creates. However if the enemy team knew who they were up against and behaved like Russians or Americans, you would be constantly attacked by artillery and mortar fire. This is somewhat easy to avoid by using the tank's mobility and concealment. I am so impressed by this game and your gameplay, epically after my disappointing experiences with the worlds weakest tigers and superhuman infantry in BFV. Bravo. Carius and Bölter would be proud
Why do you use APCR ? At these ranges, the normal shell would penetrate anything easily and be much more effective... at least IRL, dunno about the game
Question: Why load APCR? The APCBC could punch through basicaly anything the Allies could throw at a Kingtiger from 2km away. Is it because it is somehow modeled wrong in the game?
@@Vade its curious on real APCR was more prone to bouncing. Maybe they will. Change tank Dm at some point. If not that false dm post scriptum is the most real tank experience i saw
the only explanation is the APCR which has no explosive mass rather than APCBC which will explode inside the tank if penetrated but yeah thats why they could beaf through it

The fact that they put all of the new tanks on 2 town based small maps is ridiculous. Not to mention the historical inaccuracies of them even being there.
What inaccuracy? This wasn't the russian steppes. Towns or not the distance at which they engaged was a few hundred meters. At best. Of course it isn't ideal for tanks. But guess what.They did it. As did the allies. Hence the 2 billion photographs and accounts of knocked out armor in towns and hedgerows.
Pretty sure nothing can get through the Upper Front Plate, but I’m not as sure about the front of the turret. I think it’s possible for the Firefly to pierce the turret front.

Just like in reality. This is the reason why tanks should always stick closely to the infantry which procedes them in this type of environment.

Yes, APCBC has the tendency to bounce, whereas APCR does it less - I'd always take APCR ingame except for the very light scout cars.

il2 tank crew is not very realistic in its current state to be honest - it has potential but needs a lot of work done still...
