Hello - love your video - and agree with most of it - you are doing a great job spreading knowledge in regards to GBP - but I cant agree with your claim that business description does not influence the ranking factor... do a simple experiment - remove your business description and watch how your position is changing. In my opinion, it is one of the most important sections - as you inform Google what you do.

I'm hardly an SEO novice but thought I'd ask a Google business profile question. I have a client where Google changes the business hours every week. Google support won't tell me where the change is coming from. I suspected a competitor was suggesting the change but I'm not convinced most competitors are that knowledgeable about SEO. On our local schema and all directory listings we use the same opening hours but still Google change it every week. The change means the business is showing as closed at most times of the day and therefore lower in local listings. In this particular niche I also found many competitors were adding keywords to their business name even though they did not use these keywords elsewhere. I suggested change and Google did remove the keywords.
Interesting. I agree, I am very doubtful someone would take the time to change the hours all the time. There are plenty of other things they could do to make it difficult for your clients. In most cases it will come from a third party source Google has found elsewhere, keep digging

I'm tending to feel it's a Google glitch and what's annoying is that Google support is next to useless. They won't give any help about how to prevent it.
GREAT content as always Luc - Another Masterclass! Question you may be able to answer for me. If I am to dedicate some time each month to "push reviews" for a client as part of an overall service I provide to them currently and lets say that day I am proactively requesting customers to give the business a review & they start getting a number of reviews in on the same day, does google have a "review limit" which they look at as " review spam". I don't want to do the hard work to end up getting penalised because of the amount of reviews I got in though my hard work? Thanks in advance.

Services in GMB section don't impact rankings so you should name them exactly as they are. In this example "Keratin Treatment". Organise you service in a logical way. It's for the benefits of users, not Google

Everything about this video is excellent. One thing is missing and I cannot find an answer anywhere: what happens when you have a google listing that you cannot access? We recently bought a business that was established in 1966. We cannot determine how the google account was set up. Try getting some links from somewhere that point to your site. If you have a google listing hopefully it links to your site. Try other popular directories to. Google will crawl those sites and eventually yours.

Great video! For the business locations I was thinking of getting an office with its own suite number that has a common area with shared front desk staff, and does receive customers at that location. Are you saying this won’t rank? So if I don’t have signage then GMB will not rank that office? Does the signage have to be exterior or interior? We would have signage on the door where it’s allowed.

Google is a insane freaky company. They ask you to keep your profile updated, but when you try to do it, anything you change is blocked and the profile is suspended. Not even Freud explains!!!!
You should begin by creating location pages for the 4 or 5 locations closest to you, then gradually expand to cover the others. Yes, it's hard work and takes time, but when has running a business ever been easy?
There is something I have got different answers for. I'd like to see your answer. Is it bad to put text on my images I use for my products? Like is bad to create the image in Canva and put text on it then upload as a product? Does the text on the image mess up or help optimization. (Note: When I say text... I mean like a title not a deal or anything. Basically the text on the image would also say the name of the product.)
Products do not help with rankings so whether or not you put text in them it won't make a difference. Visually I think its' best without but it's a personal choice
If by "protecting your address" you mean keeping it private, you'll need to remove it completely and instead specify the areas you serve. Since you're a service area business, your customers don't come to you - you go to them - so setting your service areas is something you should do anyway.
I manage 9 physical locations. Is there a way to do mass updates to all locations at once. For example, can you update the business description and have it update all business locations instead of going into each one individually?
For business address - I have a moving company client which is a service area business and does not have a physical location set. All of the competitors in my client’s area are service area based movers as well but have added a physical location. The physical location is helping them rank higher than my client in the heart of the metropolis they are in. What should we do? Add a physical location in this sense? Google isnt really helping us rank as we are listed properly so it motivates us to add a location which customers won’t be coming to

I am in the US, here Google Business Profile Manager website was just closed overnight, closed as of 10/31/2022. The Google Search interface seems to have been edited a bit too. Is it the same for you?
@@rankingacademythe Google Business Profile Manager website has been closed in the US. Only way to manage the profile now is on Google Search. Google had announced that it would be closed by end of July at some point, but had kept the website accessible until this past weekend. Now if you try to go to the website it just kicks you back out to the profile on search. I don't know if the plan is the same for the UK. Here they made no announcement or press release of any kind about exactly when the website would close, they just closed it overnight. The interface on Search has also changed a bit and they renamed some parts. "insights" is now called "performance", "posts" is now called "add an update". This is on computer, on phone it is all hidden in submenus, very on how confusing to find everything. Also now there is no way to see your photos like in the manager website, you can only see them posted in the profile.

Thank you for this! I'm admittedly confused by interface 1 vs 2. When I click from my Google Business profile I see Interface 1. When I click the link from a google search, I still see Interface 1. I have no idea where to go to see Interface 2.
Sounds weird to me because by now you should only have access to 1 interface since this video was made a while ago. Try clearing your cache
Hi, Regarding adding product. clicking on edit product does not open the old GMB dashboard, also the edit profile does not show option for adding Products.

Also what to do to make your website visible if you have already added it to Google Search Console and requested your website to be indexed? I created a Canva Website but I am having problems with Google recognizing it.
Try getting some links from somewhere that point to your site. If you have a google listing hopefully it links to your site. Try other popular directories to. Google will crawl those sites and eventually yours.

For the business locations I was thinking of getting an office with its own suite number that has a common area with shared front desk staff, and does receive customers at that location.
Are you saying this won’t rank? So if I don’t have signage then GMB will not rank that office? Does the signage have to be exterior or interior? We would have signage on the door where it’s allowed.

Google is a insane freaky company. They ask you to keep your profile updated, but when you try to do it, anything you change is blocked and the profile is suspended. Not even Freud explains!!!!
so, for every location you service, your saying a page dedicated to that should be made? If you did have 20 that would be alot of work
You should begin by creating location pages for the 4 or 5 locations closest to you, then gradually expand to cover the others. Yes, it's hard work and takes time, but when has running a business ever been easy?
There is something I have got different answers for. I'd like to see your answer. Is it bad to put text on my images I use for my products? Like is bad to create the image in Canva and put text on it then upload as a product? Does the text on the image mess up or help optimization. (Note: When I say text... I mean like a title not a deal or anything. Basically the text on the image would also say the name of the product.)
Products do not help with rankings so whether or not you put text in them it won't make a difference. Visually I think its' best without but it's a personal choice

If by "protecting your address" you mean keeping it private, you'll need to remove it completely and instead specify the areas you serve. Since you're a service area business, your customers don't come to you - you go to them - so setting your service areas is something you should do anyway.

I manage 9 physical locations. Is there a way to do mass updates to all locations at once. For example, can you update the business description and have it update all business locations instead of going into each one individually?

For business address - I have a moving company client which is a service area business and does not have a physical location set.
All of the competitors in my client’s area are service area based movers as well but have added a physical location. The physical location is helping them rank higher than my client in the heart of the metropolis they are in.
What should we do? Add a physical location in this sense? Google isnt really helping us rank as we are listed properly so it motivates us to add a location which customers won’t be coming to
If you add an address to your listing it's likely you'll be asked to verify it. Will you be able to do that?

I am in the US, here Google Business Profile Manager website was just closed overnight, closed as of 10/31/2022. The Google Search interface seems to have been edited a bit too. Is it the same for you?
Not sure what you mean by closed overnight. Are you saying you no longer have access and can't edit your profile?
@@rankingacademythe Google Business Profile Manager website has been closed in the US. Only way to manage the profile now is on Google Search. Google had announced that it would be closed by end of July at some point, but had kept the website accessible until this past weekend. Now if you try to go to the website it just kicks you back out to the profile on search. I don't know if the plan is the same for the UK. Here they made no announcement or press release of any kind about exactly when the website would close, they just closed it overnight. The interface on Search has also changed a bit and they renamed some parts. "insights" is now called "performance", "posts" is now called "add an update". This is on computer, on phone it is all hidden in submenus, very on how confusing to find everything. Also now there is no way to see your photos like in the manager website, you can only see them posted in the profile.
Hey there, does anyone something about the bug with adding a logo and cover picture for GBP? I uploaded these photos, but none of them has been changed in my profile and I saw on the Google support forum, that many people said about this issue earlier... somebody knows what to do with that?
