I know there was a lot of work that went into this bed but I have to wonder how comfortable it actually was.

I have a question. I wonder if general Washington had a southern accent? Of all the movies and actors I have seen portrait him. I have never heard any use a accent

Great question! Unfortunately, we have no real way of knowing whether George Washington had a southern accent, or perhaps even a British one (!) but that has not stopped the many interpretations of the first president. Check out this timeline of Washington's portrayal in movies and video games over the years: www.mountvernon.org/george-washington/pop-culture/

My bed is from IKEA and uses screws and wooden dowels to put the frame together. The mattress is from Walmart and came in a box, that expanded when you removed it from the box.

They slept together. When he died she closed up the bedroom and went to a bedroom on the next floor.

HIstory is NOT politically correct. History has good and bad. WE study it to learn. While I see you're trying to make a politcial statement, remember you're attacking a museum and historians who are only story tellers they aren't guilty of the sin of slavery. You're attacking the innocent.

I suggest you look around your home and see how many products you have that are made in China ( I guarantee you have many) including many of the high tech products we all have, phones, tv's ect. I then suggest you throw them all out and find products made in other countries that do not have modern day slavery and forced work camps where people have been kidnapped and placed into horrible situations. I also suggest you refuse to buy anything made in China ever again. I'm so tired of people judging other people in the context of their time. If you're going to get on your moral high horse about GW and the hx of slavery in the US then you should apply those same moral standards to yourself. So no more products from China right? History will be judging us someday warts and all and there will be things they will look down on disdain about our times. There is not one single country that can claim their history was perfect.

Back again for another go since I find myself on this video again. You do know that slavery has existed since the beginning of mankind, right? The prophet Muhammed had slaves. The Greek philosopher Aristotle had slaves, he categorized people into two groups slaves and nonslaves. You do realize that it was the British that brought slavery to America. If you're British (Americans don't say whilst) you can eff off. Considering your countries history, you of all people have no business lecturing anybody.
