Only video on RUclips about this. Much appreciated it. I wouldn't mind making a updated video but too angry and frustrated about this install myself. Was Scion expecting us the remove the motor every time we decided to remove a bolt? lol
Many later (?) videos instruct folks to unscrew a motor mount. Some instruct removing the headlight and windshield water reservoir, and/or what he eventually did - removing the bolt across from the lower bolt. All this was much easier in the days before cars shrank and smog became a target of folks who like breathing air we can see through.
thank you for this video. I had started taking the bumper off(per the other video ☺) then thought theres gotta b a better way. Had trouble getting to the bottom bolt at first. Appreciate it
Great video, didn't have to remove bumper etc. (other video) exactly the way he does it in this video...that's how you do it. Had a little trouble removing my 19" wrench from tensioner after putting belt back on but eventually got it. Thanks for the video sososhit!
Ffffffuuuuuuuuck that belt. Thank you for this vid. A helpful tip I found was dont put the top bolt in until after the belt is in. It gives you just enough slack to put the belt on. Once on then insert and tighten the bolt. Anyway thanks again, you saved my ass.
Was it easy to replace the belt? I did mine a few weeks ago, since the belt was new, had some difficulty getting it onto the tension wheel. So what I had to do was take off the front, right tire, remove the fender shield and turn the crank pulley until the belt slipped back onto the tension pulley.
Yea for the belt having the ratchet in place makes it harder. I did what you did as far as removing tire and plastic cover. Ran the belt first, then placed rachet thru belt on to the tensioner n just pull down on it and slid the belt over the tensioner. Less stress n stretch on the belt.
Ok can someone tell me what can it be for my scion not to start. I’ve changed the coils thermostat , fuel pump, fuel injectors, camshaft sensor, air mass flow sensor, about to replace the starter relay. And put my battery to charge at auto zone. I have to use starter fluid for my car to start any suggestions?
sososhit unconventionalWAYS I have the fuel pressure regulator but don’t know where is located in the car for me to replace it and the piece I have I don’t see it by the bar of the fuel injectors so I need find it so I can replace it
sososhit unconventionalWAYS do you think it can be the alternator as well? I had to charge my battery because they said battery still good and I was about to buy a new one she said no because can also be your alternator that’s draining your battery

THANK YOU! You saved me soooo much time. The new belt I put on was VERY tight. My brother and I dropped 100 F-bombs while doing it - just like you.

Just replaced my alternator is my 2010 xb using this method. Took no time and was way easier than trying to disassemble the front end of the car
Haha 😂 same
Thank you. I saw that half wit who disassembled half his car and went, yeah, no. I'm glad I found this one.
Bro. I finished in like a half hour. There is NO NEED to take all that other crap off like in the other video. Thank you so much for this.
Appreciate you. Thank you!

Have you verified that your fuel pressure regulator is working properly?
sososhit unconventionalWAYS I have the fuel pressure regulator but don’t know where is located in the car for me to replace it and the piece I have I don’t see it by the bar of the fuel injectors so I need find it so I can replace it
For that car, regulator is inside the fuel tank. It sits inside the pump. Google it you can see pics.
sososhit unconventionalWAYS basically I don’t need the regulator if I replaced the whole assembly of the fuel pump

His was a different year
