Think most Americans would never understand Ohtani. The Japanese do but even many of them don’t. He is that unique. So far Kuriyama is the one who understood him most, thou even he said he couldn’t believe it at first… Ohtani is so unique that saying “If I would be him, I would…” or “anybody would..” just doesn’t work. If he wanted to chase existing stats criteria, he would never be two way player! As a two way player, chances of beating full time hitters or full time pitchers in stats made for specialists are so against the odds with one body. He wants to create something totally new and challenge something that nobody has done. Hitting one extra ball over the fence and say that’s a record which has never been done is not his idea of doing something never done..everybody is doing the SAME thing, trying to add extra to something that had been done previously. 50-50 Isn’t making him nervous nor feeling pressure, though he would be happy when he does reach it. But he is already thinking of something nobody else is thinking. He just needs to be healthy first. So this season, he sticks to something he can do despite being injured.
The 50/50 is on Shohei's mind. I don't know whom he told this to. He has said he wants to be the greatest player in MLB history. To be the best, you have set records that are almost impossible to break.
Bobby miller just throws 100 down the middle and thinks he's a "power pitcher". Hope he figures something out next year but honestly I wouldnt be upset if we trade him
For Shohei Ohtani, BASEBALL IS LIFE. So, however these so called baseball analysts/commentators try to predict/speculate his career moves, they will NEVER EVER fathom, much less understand, his philosophy (mindset, attitude) behind his sport. But, of course, these commentators have to earn their keep to pay their bills. 😏
While Otani’s 50 homer pace is impressive, it not like Barry Bonds’ 73 homer pace in 2001, when he was walked almost every at bat towards the end of that season, whether the bases were empty or loaded, because he was a legit threat to hit a home run each and every at bat. Especially with the upcoming Dodgers-Padres series, which be meaningful games for both teams, it’s not worth the risk for the opposing manager to intentionally walk Ohtani every at bat. With Ohtani batting lead off, if you walk him with bases empty, you’re immediately putting stress on your starting pitcher, as Ohtani is a huge threat to steal 2nd base and getting himself into scoring position. With Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman hitting behind him, they’re going to get better pitches to hit with Ohtani on base, because the pitcher can’t afford to walk them either. So it doesn’t make sense strategically to intentionally walk Ohtani every at bat in the remaining games left in the season. And no manager will want to be known as the a-hole manager that intentionally walked Ohtani just for the purpose of denying him the chance to be the only player in MLB history to reach 50/50.
Big deal because he is only a designated hitter At least that what you said about Ortiz a couple of weeks ago. Of course his translator stole all that money 💰 and he knew nothing about it 😂😂

Good take. Everyone hitting foul ball on Shohei👽
Shohei Ohtani king of MLB
GOAT

He said that he cares more about the team than getting records for himself already like in 3 different interviews
He even said there's no pressure as he is just looking for quality at-bats and helping the team win.
He said on multiple interviews that getting into the post season is the main goal and if he obtains 50/50 in the process then it would be great
50/50 is just a number. 49/49 or 48/48 are already records.
@@ceruhermandez9651sure but 50/50 is definitely on his mind and he does want to reach that milestone
Can you imagine the viewership if Ohtani was pitching to Judge in the bottom of the ninth for the world series.
Maybe in 2025.
Bobby miller just throws 100 down the middle and thinks he's a "power pitcher". Hope he figures something out next year but honestly I wouldnt be upset if we trade him
Ohtani is the GOAT.
If I knew the answer I’ll be working for the dodgers rn 😂

dodgers pitchers are choking so ohtani might pitch in post season
Injured is different from choking
he''s not gunna pitch this season.
why was Ohtani not credited for his 50th SB after he took off from second to safely reach 3rd base??
nope. Error doesn’t count
If someone makes an error, the new play is an error. So his steal caused the error, but the error caused the second base.
Man, I WISH Bobby's ERA started with a 5... It's 8.52.
HE ALREADY HAS 50. He stole 2 in the 3rd inning today.
I thought it’s one. The other was an error. Doesn’t count as a steal
Miller out ohtani in...never know I don't think he would turn down pitching in the playoffs if he is able to go...
I don’t think you guys understand his mentality. Google his goals he usually makes unachievable goals. He’s prob going for 70/70
Why would you put him in bullpen he gets lite up 1st n 2nd inning
What happens to this season if after being 49/5X, he gets walked the rest of the season?
He can easily get walked away from the 50/50 club.

The gambler doesn’t even play the field………
Dead wrong. It was Ippei the translator. Just read the affidavit if your literacy happens to be any decent.

Feds ~57 page report absolves Shohei of any involvement. Let go you go, you sound miserable
@@ghingisoverland6932 C'mon he's not literate enough to begin with.
