If you had the experience of updating a 3.1 system and saw windows 95, that was truly an upgrade!
Yes it was. Upgrading to Windows 95 was magical.
i remember that. was like suddenly being in the future. what a hopeful time that was.
sure was :)

The best operating systems of windows was probably windows XP & windows 7. They were the best operating systems to use for work, home, and games. I had so much fun with them both even though they are both out of support. I keep them on my shelf just to remember them

@@nixxxon18 I*m also! I have no Problems with Windows 7 since 2010! In the 80's and 90's computer pros always said if you have a system that runs great and isn't cuasing any problems, stick with it and don't update. This is my guide for 30 year's!
@@djvincent2010 agree. Maybe some security flaws will come but still if you have common sense on what you do, it wont be a big problem
I think my favorites were XP and 7. My first own PC had 3.1, although I'd used other computers and GUIs before that, so I enjoyed 3.1. When 95 came out it was like a whole new world.
And when it came out 1 year later I got my IBM computer and it was the most advanced computer in my area ! From speakers to CDROM and once the vcd technology came out I started watching movies on my PC ! And I had DVX as well ! And winup player ! Etc... I m so cool ! But the first operating system witch is actually a subsystem was Basic with the blue screen at computer school ! But all I know I taught it to myself by myself !
WOW, that is cool that you started from nearly the beginning of Windows!! :)
Windows 7 still Used by Some Legends.
muy bonito el windows xp
Windows 98 was the best
Windows 95 “start me up” was the most important windows release imo. It’s like a sudden leap into modernity, UI wise - honestly, things haven’t changed that much in the UI department. Though windows 2000 is my personal favorite release since it integrated the NT kernel with legacy windows and dos support. I think it was the first to do that even tho XP gets all the credit
I agree. It really hasn't changed much since W95. All the important concepts, look and approach were set out in 95. The software was more or less finished (polished) by xp and what we have now is an update cycle that probably has little or no real functional point
Win 2000 is also my fav. It also had the best startup tune
Win 95 came out during my Uni days, and a Prof I took a class from had it newly installed. So in a quiet moment I asked him what he thought of it. His reply "It is surpisingly stable."
yeah it was cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool

Windows NT is where a lot of things started changing. Switching from an MS-DOS based OS to a Windows NT based OS.
I started with Dos 6.22 and Windows 3.11. Over the years, I have tried all the versions. Windows 95, 98, 2000 , XP and finally 10 are my favorites.
That glossy look in windows Vista looked pretty futuristic and intuitive that time
Vista is my favourite
Windows 7 was the best tho. As a kid back then, I carve for the looks. It looked like it was somewhat clean back then
@@mundodacrianca2147 yea
It looked good, I wish it had worked good also.
Such style is called "Frutiger Aero". It is said that Win 7 perfected the aesthetic even more. If there is any word to define the closest thing that exist for 2000s Retrofuturism, it will be that aesthetic. That or Y2K aesthetic.
Windows Vista concept... The best!

XP: Made it confortable and lovable

I totally agree with you. As far as I am concerned, anything after Win 7 is garbage... I switched to Linux when Win 7 was no longer supported, and I still run XP and 2000 in Virtualbox within Linux...
My nostalgia is literally crushing me.
I was amazed to see 3.1 for the first time...
But 95 was a LEGEND.
Not to mention 98 and that unforgettable boot sound. The world (and virtual world) seemed limitless.

Windows 95 was quite the happening. I remember seeing that start menu for the first time. It was quite something. Never cared much for 98 and ME. Windows XP was legendary.

Amazing.
Thank you for bringing back the often fond memories.
It was great going back in time to my childhood with early 90’s/00’s with this video
I started from an 8bit computing system that I never knew how to operate.
And then 256-colorful DOS in 1992 , a 386 intel computer built around early-mid 80s.
There was a bit a derailment from Window based to Mac based around mid 90s : a Mac Classic, Performa 5200 and to PowerMac which seemed like a huge upgrade in terms of GUI.
But then I found that the UNIX based MacOS had many compatibility & expandability issues with softwares that I needed to use (and was expensive budget-wise), so came back to using the typical PC having Windows 95 installed, and then 98, and 2000, and ME, Vista, 7, and to 10 now.
Cool Windows Evolution. I love the startup sounds
Windows xp, so many memories, good times.
Yeah, it sure had the best memories forever.

Windows XP was love at first sight. As soon as I saw it, I was in love with its beautiful look, with windows with rounded corners and the predominance of blue, from the installation screens, in the toolbar, in the windows and elsewhere.

The new windows has a boring style, even win7 was still attractive to the eyes.

@@crakaweazol i agree, it seems like a common problem these days, what was once filled with a vibrant personality is now a lifeless corporate husk or "modern" from what they are describing. Like the old fun house McDonalds vs the office looking dull McDonalds of today or the neo-classical buildings vs the copy-paste glass towers of today.
@@joshuam.6027 fkin McDonald's looked so pretty back then, I feel like they're making them look easier to draw nowadays. People who say those are ugly just don't have a taste in art. May as well just print the letter M on the new logo.

I don’t think the missus approved his purchase of such an expensive computer.
I can remember using windows 95 and 98 in school. When we got our own PC at home it ran XP so that was my fav. Liked 7 but soon after I started using Mac and switched over completely. Very nostalgic video!! Thanks!! 😊
Not an apple fan
i liked this, and thank you very much!
The first pc I ever bought had windows 95. I had to reinstall that OS more times than I can remember. Xp, on the other hand, was so stable on my computer, that I had one hard drive from 2004 to 2014 when I bought a new computer with Windows 7 on it without reinstalling Windows Xp even once - that install survived multiple hardware changes of virtually everything but the case itself..
A few weeks later I turned on the Xp computer only to find that the hard drive finally died. I think it may have died of a broken heart.
Windows XP was very stable and it accepted almost any hardware change, VIsta and Seven were problemmatic due to it's product activation, but a simple offline registry tweak got them working again, while windows 10 is just as stable as XP and accepts almost hardware changes.
@@MarkWhich Windows 10 isnt as customizing as XP was though and not as versatile. Example, my custom sounds and themes dont work half the time where I had more reception from 7 on that level. 10 is the rebel child that doesnt want to cooperate like the previous generation or two did. 8 and Vista were the worst of them all.
This is the best show depicting the history of Microsoft Windows. I love the views of how each edition of Windows worked.
I love looking at this too!! I want to cry!! To go back to my childhood days watching all of Windows evolving!!
@@jammer0856 My first and favorite operating system was Microsoft Windows XP Professional. I used it on a Cybernet computer with Microsoft Office XP Professional, since 2002. Windows XP needs to make a return. I doubt that will happen but I would love it if Microsoft came back with Windows XP 2.0. I know Windows 7 was dubbed Windows XP 2.0 due to how it operated similar to XP in many ways but no other OS will compare to XP on the same level. Not even Windows 10 and 11 tops it despite them being the newer operating systems. Still to this day, Windows XP is used by many companies around the world more than any other. Microsoft should have recognized this and just simply stayed with what they had and kept upgrading XP. It was the most adaptable and versatile OS and the most innovative OS they had ever created. It was the absolute best they ever made and they threw it away. Sure make the other operating systems but keep XP running and capable of running with the others too like it running Microsoft Edge (or keep updating IE if Edge truly couldnt). People are crying for jobs...this is the way, Microsoft. Give those people jobs to keep running and support XP and keeping it up-to-date. As the saying goes...if it aint broke, dont fix it.
Im also crying watching this when coming upon Windows 95 to XP. I miss all this and wish Microsoft wouldn't have gone and retired them.

I used to work in a company that uses pick & place machines for electronic manufacturing.
The software to run the pick & place machines needs Windows 98 operating system to run on.
I lost count on how many times I keep seeing this error message "The program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down".
I had not choice but to shut down the machine, reboot it, find the machine's last position and complete the production process.
So amazing how things changed ☺️
