If you think this was fast--Paul and John made "A Hard Days Night" in less than 24 hours from on-demand request to finished song as told by Walter Shenson (Producer)-watch clip below 24:45-26:39 ruclips.net/video/0MIAzJqZkX8/видео.html
The amazing thing about this is that it could be a hit single. Even while screwing around he has the ability to make amazing music. The man is incredible.
I get all goosebumps watching one of the most influential artist of this era in the making of a song. just imagine ringo, george and john all in that room.. making music :)
Really great, thanks for posting all these. Must have been amazing being there not only with Paul playing live all by himself changing instruments without any effort, but also a little bit with the feeling of being in a recording session with him.
Thank you, Paul for all you do....God blessed YOU and you have shared yourself with the world......All the Best to you and your family..........................
It's a 1962 Epiphone casino with Bigsby which he bought in 1964, used it to record lots of Beatles songs, like Taxman, Ticket to Ride, The End, etc. John and George liked it so much, they went out and bought theirs. John's (without bigsby) became his signature guitar.
If nothing else it shows how much he loves his audience and performing...I get goosebumps thinking about what transpired in that space...thanks for posting...enjoyed it very much!
Outstanding. You don't need to be a Beatles or McCartney fan to appreciate talent and ability - anyone who doesn't play an instrument (or even some that do) and think that this is easy have no idea. This vid is great insight into how much music simply flows through his veins. Great stuff.
This was marvelous. How often I've wished that I was a fly on the wall of just one of his sessions. He was and is a master of allowing just enough space in those tracks to complement his terrific voice as a centerpiece for it all. Those who think this is 'easy', being simple, ought to try it and find out for themselves how many ways it can go wrong. Thanks for sharing this!
Hey Sandra, I see that Sir Paul is wearing a wedding ring. This is exactly how multi-track recording is done on a computer for all the folks who are wondering. It doesn't matter if you do it at Studio 2 at Abbey Road or in your music room at home. You just build the song up in layers, one instrument at a time. Thanks for sending this one luv. BSP
I'm so glad he was a fan of Little Richard and not some Rapper... or DJ , who presses a button on the CD player and stick his finger in the air.... he was born on the right moment in time. Yeah man, "When you burn your behind you have to sit on the Blisters" that's what my dad said when i told him i wanted to be a musician. You made me do it Paul... thanks.
A lot of folks seemed to be awed by this simple 60 year old recording technique. Of course he's Paul McCartney and he's absolutely one of the Icons of our lifetimes.....but a bunch of you are quite easily entertained by this rudimentary recording lesson....Like Neil says "It's not the music, It's the mystique"
Though this is just your standard blues progression, Paul here played bass, guitar, drums piano and made up lyrics as he went, and did all of that quite spectacularly. Not every musician can boast doing that good of a job. Also, is it just me, or is his voice getting even better with age?
I know is impossible, but if everyone have the same talent and heart that he has,the world for sure, would be a better place. I just love Paul...he is a genious!
Yes that's how it's done. I do the exact same things, playing drums, bass, rhythm and lead guitar just like Sir Paul does here. One huge difference however is he can really sing well but I can not. The other difference is in my little studio I am also the recording supervisor and sound technician. Still all in all using an 8 track recorder is the key that allows all of this to happen.
Paul's a gentleman & wonderful to invite a few thrilled guests into Abbey Road for a little concert & demo of the Beatles recording techniques. I personally think it's great!!!
Another great example of - - when the Beatles were off doing their own separate tracks for The White Album - - why one of the Fab Four didn't really need anyone else. And yet ironically, he was the one who was trying his hardest to keep them from falling apart. Love you, MACA.

When the camera pulls out and shoots the wide shots (long shots) there stands Paul playing his guitar, standing at the mic and he looks 29 again. Love ya JPM : )
@gpietsch thanks! such a cool guitar. I like the short headstock as opposed to John & George's Casinos. I wish Paul had whipped out his Rickenbacker bass!
Good point linlyon. Not many people know that Ritchie is a south paw. It is so obvious if you study the Ed Sullivan clips, he leads every fill with his left hand. That's why the drum part on "Rain" is so incredible, it would very difficult for a right handed drummer. Ritchie claims that "Rain" was his best work.
He makes writing songs out of thin air so effortless..
So true!

Ram on,
Joe.
We've been blessed. We are all blessed by Paul and his three heavenly fellows. With blessings enough for thousands of future lives.
When he starts singing, he starts sounding like his younger self.
The amazing thing about this is that it could be a hit single. Even while screwing around he has the ability to make amazing music. The man is incredible.

This man was forged in the crimson flames of musical energy. The manifestation and embodiment of pleasant sound.
Man, he's got such a great energy even after 40 odd years. Just shows the dedication. What a legend.
Thanks for post, he's the greatest and that's all, this end shows it.
Paul’s love of America shines through in his love of our music.

Paul the one man band. This proves he was the most talented Beatle of the four.
No
James Hershberger Yes
Mmmm no i don't think so :) ringo is a better drummer
@@LiamOwen1991 But Paul could do everything if he wanted to.
@@LiamOwen1991 Which is exactly what he did

absolutely superb, the man has rock n roll in his bones.
Correct. The another thing is that the 62s Casino don't have Epiphone logo on the truss rod cover.
" The Beatles were a gift from God " . T. Leary .
ive been doing basic looping lately but with a turntable. this is pure inspiration for me. thank you paul
1964 Epiphone Casino. Is slightly different in term of appearence compared to current production run Casino. The headstock for instant.
Awesome vocal performance.
A Musical god... cut and simple.

The genius is in the simplicity....I agree with you....
Ram on,
Joe.
7:43 - "You can steal my house. You can burn my car." It's the other way around Paul.
All praise Sir Paul. Please don't throw money, but bowing is accepted, applause required and if it's not too much please laugh at his humorous bits.
My favorite tune smith of all time!
