Hi friends! As always, thank you so much for stopping in, appreciate you endlessly ♥ I just want to apologize for the fact that the editing, specifically toward the end of this video, is not my best. My editing software is not running great at the moment and is making it really hard to edit in the way I usually do. And the farther I get into each project, the worse the lag/glitchiness gets so by the time I reach the last song on an album, it’s just completely helpless. I will definitely be trying to address this before I start any more videos! It’s just super frustrating and I’m sorry this video isn’t really up to my usual standards. Anyway, I hope you all are doing well and taking care of yourselves, love u!
Its all ok. Ultimately we r all here to listen to some music and watch ur reaction and analysis of it so its fine if the vid sometimes doesn't have the strongest editing. Don't take it too haed on urself 💛
I usually don’t associate with the Grammys, but I always pay attention to who wins this award because it’s names that lots of people don’t know and if they are nominated or win, LOTS of people see it and want to check them out. I hope its her, but there are A LOT of really good artists so far and there’s still months before nominations happen. 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
it invalidated the grammys for me forever. only like 75 people showed up for her show in my city in October and it gutted me to see the lack of support but in the end it was so special to see someone like this who then sells out royal Albert hall.
The Scammys back at it again. Idk what’s up with her not blowing up like she should in the USA. She’s been absolutely huge in the UK so it’s weird that she isn’t elsewhere :/ feels kinda like Leona Lewis’s start, but hopefully Raye doesn’t get screwed like Leona did after only an album or 2 (f*ck Simon Cowbell) :( 🤞🏼
Literally Oscar Winning Tears it’s one of THE BEST openers that I’ve listened in my life. Set the tone of the album beautifully (that song needs to be a single)
raye has been quite big in the uk for a few years now, and then when escapism blew up, we could no longer gatekeep her from the rest of the world lol. i am so proud of her for how far she has come
I have some info for you about the album: The girl on the album cover is RAYE's younger sister who is supposed to resemble younger RAYE. RAYE's old record label wouldn't let her release her album because they didn't think it would be successful (hence the lyric "I've waited seven years for this moment). So to be petty and to promote the release of her new album, she got an installation of the instruments on the album cover to be put in front of her old record label. 🤪💅
Just back to say hi and so proud of our girl Raye and her SIX Brit awards! So happy for her after the diss by the Grammys. Between her wins and the medley she performed I'm hoping the world is about to learn who Raye is! btw. I think I've watched this review 5 or 6 times now.... lolz
I'm SO happy you're reacting to this masterpiece, RAYE's story is truly inspiring and this album couldn't be more perfect, I've been obsessed with it since the day it came out. Hope you're doing great Caitlin, thank you for all the effort you put into your videos, love ya! ❤️🩹✨️
RAYE is truly so good, I love her jazz vibes reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and the way she uses rap and musical switch ups reminds me of Twenty One Pilots (this way of using rap in order to get out a train of thought, like in Escapism at the end)
Raye is an ARTIST! The fact that she's so underrated is crazy to me! She's been through a lot in her life, but she's an amazing human being and an amazing artist as well! We all know she writes her music, but she's also a producer and she co-produced most of the songs from this album. She's also writes and produces music for other artists from time to time. She's super talented! I wish her all the best cause she deserves everything good in the world. This album is easily one of the best albums this year. Love her ❤
Just something about the first two tracks and then the two closing tracks feels so heartwarming. She really told a story with this album. What I love about Buss It Down. in particular, it‘s so freaky lyrics wise but production wise? Girl has a whole choir and VOCALS.
Raye Album of the year and other things you should review by her . Performance of the year her medley at The Brits. Best live performance introduction into Oscar winning tears live at the Albert Hall unbelievable.
Love seeing this reaction, Raye has been building in the UK for so many years now and it's so good to see that she's finally getting her flowers and being appreciated all over the world! It's crazy how her former label tried for so long to stifle her potential and make her more mainstream, I mean she made some amazing bops back in those days too, but her artistry is so much more than that!
Whenever you listen to an album I have never heard before I always fall deeply in love with it. There is something about your reactions that make me obsessed with albums.
She is mind blowing. At first, I liked the album but thought it was just ok but then when I heard her story and really listened in after it became incredible, and I just hope that she blows up to be big. I can already see her doing one of the greatest Superbowl halftimes right now. P.S I saw another person commented a little list of things about her that really just helps add to the understanding of how amazing she is.
Well back here after the Grammys and the Brits. I can’t believe that she didn’t even receive a friggin’ grammy nonination. She got six Brits though, there’s justice
I am so happy you listened to this album, I have been supporting Raye since 2017 and it is so great to see her finally getting the recognition she deserves. Thank you so much for listening to this ♥
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE! LOVE THIS ALBUM. ALSO DONT KNOW I YOU REALIZED BUT THE MUSIC VIDEOS ARE TELLING A STORY, REALIZED IT SOME TIME AGO. 1st Hard Out Here, at the end she's driving to the club, and in 2nd Black Mascara she's in the club, 3rd Escapism, there's party and she's "high" trying to escape her problems (also she's driving in the ROYCE, black mascara reference girl) 4th Ice Cream Man, she's in the bathroom of the club possibly crying and being touched (y'all know) and I hope 5th one is on the way. Edit: I'm here again watching this reaction AND we have the next mv from RAYE for a couple months. it's an MV for Flip a Switch with Coi Leray where she is basically on the beginning ON THE FLOOR SHOT BY A MAN. Which exactly connects with Ice Cream Man mv bc she is in THE SAME BATHROOM AND IN THE BATHROOM THERE WAS ALSO A MAN. IT CONNECTS. MY THEORY WAS RIGHT. In the mv she is with Coi in the bus and she's basically riding and at the end SHE shots a man. I NEED ANOTHER MV FROM QUEEN AND MOTHER.
I really do hope you listen to Ethel cain because she is one the best storytellers of our generation and her album continues to blow me away continuously
you HAVE to go see her live!! i saw her in a super intimate venue in Paris last month and it was one of the best shows i’ve ever attended! i’ve never seen someone so passionate and in love with music before
This album is A LOT! Like I know she doesn’t want me to feel bad for her but damn, I did… She really used her songs to really really hook me especially with them lyric plays she does. Raye, we love you
Been following Raye for years and so happy she got to release this album finally. Raye is the full package. You probably have come across her work before as she has a lot of song writing credits (Charli xcx, Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, Beyonce, David guetta to name a few!)
I'm most grateful that she's bringing back the idea of an album, something you can get your teeth into with an arc and a concept that unites it as a single work of art rather than a disposable ditty.
Omggg I was not expecting this!! I love this album smmm!! Also I definitely do recommend Ethel Cain! I’m seeing her live this year, she and MUNA are both supporting acts at a boygenius concert, so excited, but yes definitely do recommend! I also don’t know if you’re aware of this person, but there’s another upcoming British artist who RAYE actually reminds me of, she’s called Joy Crookes, and she has an album called Skin, HIGHLY recommend it Caitlin, words cannot express how AMAZING it is
Congrats on 200k!!!! You totally deserve it. And we whenever you’re able to mentally prepare yourself we would still love a preachers daughter reaction🫶
such a gorgeous album, oscar winning tears is also my favorite ❤️ i listened to preacher’s daughter with troy (hthaze) and -- it’s gonna hurt babes lol
Literally so happy you got the chance to give this body of work a listen! She's so incredible 😍 I love what you do, your reactions never fail to make me smile! Not sure if you've heard of London Grammar but I definitely think you'd love their albums! Have a great day!
hello caitlin, ellie goulding's new album higher than heaven is an album i think you can vibe with sorta. it's mainly composed of dance-pop sounding songs, but it's a fun record to listen to.
So glad you decided to listen to this album! I feel like you'd also like her EP Euphoric Sad Songs. It's pretty much what the title suggests, sad lyrics with upbeat production, similar to what you said about Black Mascara and Escapism :')
Thank you Caitlin Marie, you are so emotionally honest as always. I admire the way you reveal yourself and get so into these reviews. You have really confirmed my own thoughts about Raye too as had only heard two songs before so thank you, loved the album review. Loved your honesty and appreciate you too!!
you need to listen to preachers daughter!! it’s in my top 5 of all time it has religious tones to it with a story following it soon to have a follow up book and movie with it. it will also have 2 more albums connected to it, through a generational trauma sequence between 3 women

it's okay!! also, preacher's daughter next? 👀
No matter what you do editing or without i always enjoy your reactions. And take yourself care too😊❤
Preacher's daughter next please
The video was still amazing!
Update: she won 5 Brit Awards. Including Best New Artist , Artist of the Year & Album of the Year🔥✨ WELL DESERVED
She won six BRITs! The 6th is the songwriter award!
i feel like she’s gonna win best new artist at grammys 2024
HOPEFULLY.
Its rather her or Caroline Polachek
omg imagine
I usually don’t associate with the Grammys, but I always pay attention to who wins this award because it’s names that lots of people don’t know and if they are nominated or win, LOTS of people see it and want to check them out. I hope its her, but there are A LOT of really good artists so far and there’s still months before nominations happen. 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
i think ethel will
This is not an album, it’s a masterpiece, so raw and so real but so feel good at the same time, it should be soooo much bigger.
You nailed it.
her not even being nominated for anything is my Roman Empire I genuinely cried on noms day I was rooting for her so much
it invalidated the grammys for me forever. only like 75 people showed up for her show in my city in October and it gutted me to see the lack of support but in the end it was so special to see someone like this who then sells out royal Albert hall.
WELL SHE GOT HER FLOWERS AT THE BRITS!!! SWEEPED

agreeeee
That is true.
Her live performance of the thrill is gone and Oscar winning tears. Are out of this world
omg i need to see a live of Oscar Winning Tears
Massively MASSIVELY agree on Oscar winning tears. She is INSANE
@@caitlinmariereacts Her version on BBC Radio 2 Piano room is incredible.
@@caitlinmariereactsI seen sza and her in the 3 arena in Ireland ☺️

She wrote Beyoncé's BIGGER. She's an amazing songwriter!!!! This album is pure gold!
glad RAYE is getting some attention finally she's an absolute genius
so glad i know about her now like wow
and now im waiting for her live recording album at Royal Albert Hall to release which is a majestic!
this album is the most underrated masterpiece ever
I have some info for you about the album:

omg i kept looking at the cover like 'that doesn't look like her 🤔' so that makes sense! what an iconic move tho
The transition in ‘Black Mascara’ from what you’ve done to me / you done to me / you’re done to me is my absolute fav✌🏼
Just back to say hi and so proud of our girl Raye and her SIX Brit awards! So happy for her after the diss by the Grammys. Between her wins and the medley she performed I'm hoping the world is about to learn who Raye is! btw. I think I've watched this review 5 or 6 times now.... lolz

YES! FINALLY! At first I didn’t enjoy this album, but then it became one of my favs from 2023! RAYE is so amazing
some of the songs are definitely growers, but it's a good album as a whole
I’m seeing her in June with Sza 😍
