Angelina plays piano, guitar, violin, and flute. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, has been her mentor as a painter. At age 9, she wrote a book about her encounter with a homeless girl about her age (6 at the time) who had no shoes. Angelina took off her own shoes and gave them to the other girl. She became the youngest published author in the history of Norway. All proceeds of her book go to children's charities. She is, as her name implies, angelic.

I feel safe in saying that Elvis would have been incredibly impressed and proud of the production, the arrangement, how beautifully Angelina sung his song and how pianist, Rob Christie accompanied her.
There is gold. There is platinum. There is diamond. Angelina is a very rare precious gem. To say that this performance is stunning is a gross understatement. Mesmerizing, captivating, hypnotic and magnetic barely suffice in describing what listening to the cover does to me.
That's good. From now on try not to pepper your speech with so many trite cliches.

These are well chosen words, I felt them too. Stiff upper lip English is still limited, even with its vast vocabulary, to describe Angelina and reading endless comments we hear people struggling to put feelings to words. You did well.
We are now at 2.2 Million views of this performance in just over 2 months.
Angelina is a gift for us all, musically adept and emotionally able to translate in her own manner melodies of any age. She's performed, Billy Holiday, Sinatra, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Elvis Presley with such ease that we have to accept that this little lady was born with a gift that we have to accept. We have to accept she can translate song. But we have to accept she can create her own version of melodies that make her unique. She can master the Masters and she can create her own masterpiece sound as well. Yes! We should be able to recognize that this young girl can produce a sound so unique and special that will add to the masterpieces of artistry that deserve to be written down in history. She's proven her worth since her local Norwegian challenge and she continues to work and sacrifice her own sound just to reach us all with a humble dedication to music. She's a devoted musician and I for one am an aware fan, despite her young age. I truly back her success and wish her the best of luck in the music business that is promoted by totally different ideals and goals. I hope that her fans are able to make an impact in her musical contribution to real music. She deserves the honor that musicians are born to receive.

I don't think it's a case of Angelina improving what is already an amazing song, but the fact that she is able to give us a different type of emotion for the lyrics and melodies of that song. The beauty of a good cover is that we then have not one, but two amazing interpretations to enjoy. 🙂

I mean, she really succeeded in having me love a song I didn't like that much in the original, but if I think about things like "I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my body..." or some mumble rap or death metal... I don't want to hear those, neither in the original nor in Angelina's version. Not every song is even worth of Angelina's care, jm2c...

I’ve been following Angelina since she was 7 years old, I attended several of her concerts and have seen her progress over the years. As a 68 years old who has been involved in music from a very young age, I can tell you that she is the most captivating and hypnotizing artist that I have seen and listened to. Her voice, her versatility, her understanding of music, her humbleness, and her technical abilities make her a force to be reckoned with. She has been attacking old classics like a baseball home runs champion and been hitting them so far and high that they been caught by astronauts in the Space Station.
I’ll be at her concert in Norway in July and I can’t help but feel like a proud grandpa.
Thank you Miss Angelina Jordan for filling my heart among millions other hearts with joy and love.

Yes , many symbolisms. The hairstyle is what Priscilla Presley wore. The black leather outfit and the red guitar are a tribute to what Elvis wore on his comeback tour. The piano starts as Angelina is removing the dusty cover (dusting old songs). Her baby cousin represents the innocence that we are all born with. Her other cousin running around and looking up represents the curiosity and bewilderment of discovering new things. Her sister Juliette looking regal sitting on an antique chair represents the hope and the dreams of what of what and where she wants to be (The Queen of Music on her Throne). And then Angelina as a 16 years old looking like a rock star as if she is saying.: I arrived and I belong here with the best.
These are my interpretations. Regardless, Angelina in my eyes is and has been a Superstar for a very long time.

This comes out along side the debut of Baz Lurhmans movie Elvis. From what ive read this is Elvis’s leathers and guitar from 68 live. Remember she’s sixfeet tall. She has big names showing up for her. This career is gonna be good
Angelina plays guitar, piano, flute and violin. None of them necessarily with tremendous facility, but she does know how to play them! The oldest of the three girls featured in the video was Angelina's little sister (and per Angelina, the love of her life), Juliette, the toddler with the amazing curly brown hair was her cousin, Athena, and the little one is Athena's younger sister, whom I've not seen before. Of course she's the newest addition to the extended family! They are Angelina's uncle's kids. Her uncle Michael, who is also her manager. Executive producer was Mery Zamani, who is Angelina's maternal grandmother. She was a prodigy herself as a poet, writer and painter. She taught Angelina the language, Farsi, which Angelina is fluent in along with Norwegian and English. She is also credited with introducing Angelina to many of the greats of Jazz when Angelina first showed an interest in that particular genre of singing. She is enormously important to Angelina! In terns of this song, I never really liked Elvis's version of it. Angelina did a "frame off restoration" of this song! She literally stripped it down to it's framework, and built it back from the ground up and created a recording I honestly enjoy! Simply Genius! Plus, when you include the nod to Priscilla Presley with the beehive hairdo, and the Tip of the hat to the king with the black leather outfit and red semi solid body guitar a'la his 1968 Comeback Special, well the homage is complete! I love your reactions, and I wish you and all of the people you love in your life, peace, joy and love!
Angelina’s younger cousin is featured in one of Angelina’s recent TikTok videos - hidden and revealed from under Angelina’s sweatshirt jacket.
She plays both Electric & classical guitar.
Piano is probably her first instrument. She has posted covers where she plays keyboards since she was twelve. Lately she has played electric guitar in several TikTok clips, and she has improved notably over the last year or so. I suspect that her goal is to play both instruments on stage in the future.
Regarding violin and flute, I believe that comes from a very old interview about the music school she attended before going on NGT, and it’s possible that she hasn’t touched either in many years. The idea that she plays those instruments is part of the fan mythology by now.
Since Mery is credited as producer, it also means she is receiving a paycheck. Kudos to Republic Records for looking after this detail.

Regarding musical instruments that she plays, I don't think she has done anything with the violin and flute since she was a young child. But it appears she is committed to becoming proficient with piano and guitar, both acoustic and electric. Mostly chords to accompany her vocals, and she is becoming more confident with both. Concerning this performance, the symbolism was everywhere---hairdo, clothing, guitar, antique store, children, etc. From the very first line of the song, her performance is Absolutely STUNNING!! 10+

Thanks for the reaction. I'm going to explain the concept a bit to the Angels community (I love them so much). Angelina is personalizing Priscilla Presley, that is, Priscilla Presley is singing to Elvis Presley, she is telling him her feelings. It's a different approach and magic happens. The little girl walking and then growing up later becomes Priscilla Presley with a heartbreaking testimony telling Elvis how she feels. A work of art in all its splendor thanks to Angelina's grandmother, every day I am more amazed at Mery Zamani I can tell all the Angels that Mery Zamani should be supported by all of us in the comments and giving her a lot of love since she makes a silent work, more than a job is creating Art giving multidimensionality to Angelina's music, thanks Mery!
Hi Adam. Another insightful and authentic reaction to Angelina. When we address Angelina Jordan as a musical "genius" we have to realize that this permits her to always be one step beyond what we think is possible. In the movie "Amadeus", court composer Salieri complains that God only gave him the ability, beyond all men, to recognize Mozart"s genius but never to fully understand it himself. This song should be a reminder that we will never quite "catch up" to Angelina's musicality. Her genius permits her to think in ways that others would never suspect.

Angelina and Rob Christie have the same love for music, a perfect match. There is an interview with Rob, 3/4 years old, on YT, a very interesting one, which might be one of the reasons her team went with Republic Records (he is the Studio director at their LA office).

Republic Records is such a great fit for her. They're not trying to change her, but they're absolutely facilitating. She has such a strong sense of what she wants and it's wonderful they're not messing with that. Seriously, Simon Cowell would have been a disaster for her.

These reAction videos and all the comments are really important as well. Record labels are now paying attention to social media in ways they weren’t before. Because they know artists can independently grow a fan base, which Angelina did. They know they need to keep that base happy and that means not screwing up what works with Angelina.

The “My Funny Valentine” store. I believe AJ does play the guitar, and possibly piano (Republic Records’ Rob Christie on piano here) and violin. I think the kids in the video are her brother’s. And, of course, her sister Juliette.

A lot of great observations as usual Adam. The vocals in this were spectacular but the word that keeps coming to me is congruence. This is a song about a tragic disfunction, jealousy, so instead leaving it upbeat and poppy like Elvis she slows it right down and makes it pleading and regretful. And so the mood supports the lyric and message of the song, and the circle of communication is complete.
Angelina has her own stratosphere of music and talent. She orbits hearts with her sensitive zeal. Scintillating magnitude.

This is the same store from 'My Funny Valentine'. The girls, the two youngest were her nieces, The older girl is 'The Love Of Angelina's Life, her sister Juliette. Grandma Mery was the executive producer. The black leathers were a nod to his world-wide broadcast of his comeback in '68. The red guitar everything was similar but the head stock. this guitar had the famous Fender profile, Elvis used a Gibson ES335, it's head stock is more rectangular. She also is putting out glimpses of her concert in Olso that was yesterday or the day before. I'll give you the link to 'I Have Nothing.

I am also giving you Angelina's TikTok version of Adele's 'Love Is A Game' still is my favorite because it signaled a change. Angelina is becoming a woman. The first line delivery in this current song, is sublime. I’ve seen her play guitar in some of her tik tak video. Piano I think is her strength. Also heard she plays violin but have not seen it
We are hearing more of the maturing of her voice that's making it impossibly better. Such a beautiful, silky, and maturing deep register that we hear Elvis, like so many other tributes she's done when we hear the original artist. No one tells a story in song and elicits emotions better than AJ. I love that she revives so many of these deep and beautiful classics in her own special style. Great reaction.
Her Beehive hairdo was an homage to Priscilla. Many photographs of her hair just like that. A Leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is actually Elvis‘s 1968 “Comeback” Guitar! The two young children are her cousins, her Uncle Michael’s children, the older girl is her sister Juliette. 🌺
Did you notice the children came in about the time the lyrics communicated too much to lose. I think she brought in the children to foreshadow that for families this kind of tragedy ruins more hearts than two.

As always you do a nice job articulating your reactions. It’s difficult to pick one of her songs as a favorite. I do agree this is one that shows how much her voice and skills have improved. Towards the end of her July 10 concert she expressed agin what it meant to her for all the fans, including many from all around the world coming to see her (she tears flowing) and she added that it only made her want to work harder to be even better for us. It’s difficult to believe, at times, that she could get better but I believe she will. She works so hard and there is no question she loves what she does (it’s not a job or career it’s a passion and love of others. Their is no question she loves her fans as much or more than we love her. I look forward to your reviews of her new album when it comes out.

The 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, and, of course, 2 time Grammy winner Rob Christie on piano. What a great cover! The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. I was not expecting this! Funny thing is, this was almost 4 minutes, but it flew by and felt short! Hi Adam, you are full of praise for Angelina and how brilliantly she arranged the song. You're right. It's a new level of Angelina.
She takes a big song and alters it according to her imagination. This time the original is almost unrecognizable. But her version is great. Really great. Angelina's version is somehow calmer and yet very emotional. Isn't it also a bit more modern? I think she updated it for today. Watching Angelina "grow" is also a nice idea.
Elvis probably still had hope for the relationship. Angina makes it sound so sad, like she's done with the relationship. I think that's the difference.
But please keep in mind that she is only 16 years old. How good should/can Angelina still be? She has at least 10 years until she has had enough experience to reach the pinnacle of her work. And if she should then keep the level for another 20 years....
We expect something new and extraordinary from her every time. So far she has not only been able to withstand this pressure, she has always met our expectations.

She is stunning and special. I just listened to "I have nothing" cover at Allsang på Grensen 2022. Look it up and listen to it.. Her voice is richer and you can tell the maturity of her voice compare to when she sang the song when she was 12. Not sure if you can do reaction to it, but just want to let you know. This was so beautiful and I know how much you enjoyed it especially when you almost started to tear up 5 seconds into the song. Adam, we all did. The video was produced very well and Mery her grandma was involved. Her voice and her arrangement "stole the show" and we are on the verge of going to the next level in Angelina's career.

I’ve been an Angelina fan since I saw her on Americas got Talent, this reminds me of what she did with Bohemian Rhapsody, so beautiful.

I spent a big part of my life working in radio....on the air and often music director. I think I can safely say this is a hit all over again. I would carry this right into the studio and tell the current D.J. to stop everything and put it right on the air...and play it twice.

Angelina‘s grandma was executive producer on this video. This cover was a great tribute to Elvis as she wore leather, sported a guitar, & had blue suede shoes on. You can see them when she’s laying on the loveseat. Also she wore her hair like Priscilla often wore it when she was married to Elvis Presley ♥️🇨🇦♥️
Elvis recorded more than 600 songs in his music career but did not write a single song (impossible to confirm, but he was given co-writing credit on many songs because his label demanded songwriters give up 50% of the credit before Presley would record it). Mark James wrote it.

This is now my favorite out of her work. And you did an excellent reaction. I am starved for her album. I will put it on loop and listen over and over again. It should be no surprise that her voice is getting better, she is growing and maturing. But beyond a certain level of excellence we enter the unknowable. She just took me there, invited me to sit, listen, look around but don’t get too comfortable. Something tells me we have only just begun. Glad you are here to share the journey. Always a joy.

My take on the setting is that it is a metaphor for Angelina growing up in the «antique shop» of the great classics in jazz, blues and pop music, with her younger selves represented by her cousin Athena and sister Juliette. Now she is «refurbishing» these classics so that they can be appreciated again in our time. (This «cover» is actually a total rearrangement copyrighted to Angelina, like her «cover» of «Bohemian Rhapsody».)

While for instance «Million Miles» and «7th Heaven» are under copyright to UMG (that is, Republic Records) on BEHALF of Angelina Jordan, «BoRhap» and this one are copyrighted to Angelina Jordan Inc. With other and earlier songs and videos, it varies, and this is often extremely complicated stuff. But I don’t think anyone can now publish THIS version of «Suspicious Minds» in a commercial setting without the permission from Angelina’s team. Of course, they will again have come to agreement with the original copyright owner, who undoubtedly still retains copyright on the original version… As I say, complicated stuff, but everyday work for the record and artist management companies. This is part of what they do.
As for «Wicked Games», I agree that it is a masterpiece from Angelina. I prefer it to the original that I also love - as I often do with Angelina’s covers. But that one stays closer to the original and to my ears is more a stripped-down version than a rearrangement.

@@Bustefaen No, no you're not. Both of Uncle Mike's kids were in the video. The first one we see is his youngest, who I believe is Aurora. The one a little older is whom you correctly identified as Athena.
