We always strip 2 wire nmd by inserting blade in the center, slightly angling the blade towards the ground as you run it down the wire. I totally understand why someone would not approve lol but that's how the majority do it.
That's how some do it, but there's high-risk of stripping the conductor accidentally. You can also gouge the bond wire accidentally, too. Over the years, the way I've shown will allow your conductors to be unharmed from beginning to end. There is no right or wrong, but when you experience a mistake in a situation that is hard to fix, you will realize it's not worth the high-risk. becoming-an-electrician.com/how-to-strip-nmd90-wire-jacket/
