For the insulated I picked the same size as my non-insulated size. Typically they are sized in waist/length.. once I started using them I didn't realize the length was considerably longer than the non-insulated with same tagged dimensions. The video is just sharing to be careful and make sure the length fits you, as it caught me off guard. Yes it makes sense. It would go A 5-6. So: A 1-2 B 3-4 A 5-6 A three phase panel has A-B-C. But the actual condo suites have a single phase panel, from a three phase panel. So they only have two hot conductors and a common (neutral) white wire. Because of this, that suite will actually have 208V between two hots, and 120V to Neutral. In a typical house, because of how the power comes from the transformer (I think called a High-Delta Leg), you get 240V between the two hots and 120V to Neutral. Each house creates their own neutral (ground plate / ground rod into the actual earth outside the home). I don't think that is true. I don't think you need the hours before you do the school. The conditions to pass that level & get your pay raise is to have BOTH the hours for the level & pass the schooling level.👍 Reach out to your local electrical college about your area's specific requirements.. as each region can be a little different! What is true is that you do need to be registered as an apprentice electrician! Then your company submits your hours on your behalf. There should be a website you log into to see your progress!

I'm just guessing from the pictures I saw online.. It looks like a single gang box would do? I couldn't find direct information, and didn't look too deep into it, sorry.. I can create a video on this once I get back to updating the website. The answer is just strip the 12 AWG solid wires longer before you try splicing them! If you are just a DIY, your hand strength is not that of an electrician who splices wires often each day, so stripping the wires longer than normal will help when splicing larger sized conductors together 👍 becoming-an-electrician.com/

Hey! If you are an electrician, your code book should have a section in the back tables sharing that kind of boxes are allowed. If it doesn't show there, then if you go onto the electrical box company's website, they will have a section for different types of boxes. If you are unsure, look at the SPECIFICATION SHEET, which will tell you what the equipment is usable for. If you're just a do-it-yourself, then ask your local hardware store about the task you're trying to accomplish.. they should guide you through what hardware & equipment you'll need! becoming-an-electrician.com/

That's how some do it, but there's high-risk of stripping the conductor accidentally. You can also gouge the bond wire accidentally, too. Over the years, the way I've shown will allow your conductors to be unharmed from beginning to end. I think if you have electrical engineering, you may be able to skip level 1 of the schooling, but the other 3 years are still required (I'm not 100% sure on this information). @@MatMamedov You will need to look at the ability to pull permits, which often requires a different test to pass to get such certification. There are often different terms for this, for example in British Columbia, you can search for the term "FSR Ticket". @@Anonsbdofjrnwodb Oh okay thanks for clarifying! There is a code rule I think on this, but I don't know the exact number. As you start to become an electrician, just remember it's all about protecting the wire.. so if it feels too close to the edge of the stud, then I'd suggest putting a metal protection plate there. Another thing to think about is how long are typical screws going into the stud? I think drywallers use 1 1/4" on their first sheet, then longer screws on double-drywalled walls (such as party walls or ceilings where a dwelling is above). Typically you have to know at least two values to begin an equation. That would also be like in real life. If you put a electrical meter on equipment, it would show you Voltage, and your meter may also be able to show you amps, too. If it's a purely resistive load, like a baseboard heater, on the box or specification sheet, it will show you the resistance, so you would be able to figure out your voltage (120V in a typical home), with the resistance to get your amps, then your watts. becoming-an-electrician.com/

Yeah they are essentially like an extra sock over your foot for extra warmth & insulation from the outside elements. The bonus is that they are absorbent to keep your actual foot less wet, so break times when you sit your feet can often get cold because of dampness and not moving! When your feet are less wet, it is easier to get back up and going to a better warmth. You can challenge the exams if you have the hours I think.. but typically you go to school for the 9-10 weeks (about 3 months), then go back to work for each level until you get your official ticket: becoming-an-electrician.com/

This usually happens when the pliers are brand-new, the grips are very prominent. Overtime the pliers won't leave the harsh marks. What's more concerning is if you score the wire, such as if you use too small of a wire stripping gauge. If you really wanted, you could try taping the plier grips, or just use them for other tasks to dull the grips a little bit. becoming-an-electrician.com/

I have another question, whenever I use a wire stripper on a, let's say a no.14 AWG wire and use the same measurement on the wire stripper, it always leaves a small "cut" at the point where the insulation and copper wire is stripped, my current workplace is kinda strict on this kind of things as they demand that all electrical splices should have very few/no marks at all.

@@JamesB-oh6py It sounds like you are using the wrong size hole when stripping (make sure you're using solid for solid, and stranded for stranded). If you are using the right size, maybe try not squeezing as hard. You can always pull the insulation off with pliers too if you're very concerned. If you do make score marks, it is bad, and significantly weakens the copper electrical wire! becoming-an-electrician.com/

If you have a good splice, with no copper exposed, tape is not needed. Using tape is not bad, and it does improve the secureness of the splice. For example, let's say the splice would be near a vibrating machine, you may want to tape CLOCKWISE so the splice remains tight due to vibrations. In this case, it sounds like you will first start working! Then after about 9 months, you will book your schooling, which lasts about 3 months (9~ weeks), then you go back to work for another year, then back to school.
