Omg onions make me gag. I think that adding onions is the easy option to add flavour, I'm so glad I've tasted Greek and middle Eastern food that taste amazing without out this ingredient. But as you both like onions enjoy the onion soup 😀

It's great that we can travel again, but you should definitely follow Paris' Covid rules. You weren't wearing a mask outside even though it was required.
