We are here to remember specially to Corey Steger RIP. This sounds is cause of him. In these times he used to be the real sounds of underoath. Good song but my favorite is Walking away by far.
Also Dallas Taylor is a huge part as well and Aaron on drums. Then underoath changed they very much changed and then I didn't like them near as much as when they first started. Drums are sicker, vocals are doper, guitars aren't even the same. Giving up hurts the most is legendary no doubt.
I think this song is amazing and I’m almost certainly in the minority on this opinion, but I wish that this album had more songs and I don’t mean that they should’ve written more music for it. I just mean it should’ve had more songs. Like at 4:58 that would be a cool ending for this song. Then at 5:01 it sounds like an entirely new song.
I've been coming back to this song and album since I was 13 I am now 29. Its sooo good bro cause then IMO after Dallas Taylor left or got kicked out or whatever they went to shit
Discovering this recently and holy shit. I like a lot of underoath’s other albums like the changing of times and define the great line, but this easily surpasses both of those albums. Sticking to something closer to this style would have been so interesting. It would be insane if they took this sound and tried to mesh it with the style they had on their more post hardcore leaning stuff. Crazy shit nonetheless.
5:13 Incredible breakdown. I get good ZAO vibes at 5:27... Sad story of what happens when a band sells out, but these kids had it going on when they first started out. I used to love this song and still do.
While I love this era of under oath, it’s pretty damn generic. Nothing about them really stands out from your run-of-the-mill black metal band. Hundreds of bands could do what these guys did on their first two albums. Post Chasung safety is way more fresh, unique, exciting and overall just better. I mean hell, even the departure from this more black metal type sound on changing of times is leagues ahead of their first two albums.
''I want to be surrounded by angels, in a place where the sun is so warm'' this is the most beautiful thing i've ever heard in a song. Also that ending almost made me cry, if it was longer i would've totally cried.
OMG its been around 6 or 7 years since the last time i heard this song, i've changed so much, Im not a teen anymore but I still like this old underoath
Holy shit this song is 17 years old this year? I remember learning to play the drums to this song 10 years ago. Still my favorite song of theirs pre "They're Only Chasing Safety" album. Remember seeing them at Taste of Chaos 2006 too. Wow i feel old! :(
@IsaacIsBeast lol Underoath WENT into more emo mainstream rock from this actually. Cries Of The Past, Act of Depression were their first two albums. Both sound like this. Changing of Times added a little more clean vocals and synth, then whatever album came after that. I forgot
@@FromTheVille_ that's crazy cuz I was the same age when I heard this and I'm 30 now. We pretty much started listening to them right around the same time
@@FromTheVille_ lol you literally need your hearing checked if you think that Dallas is a better vocalist than Spencer. Spencer is one of the greatest vocalist of all time not just in rock ‘n’ roll. If you still think Dallas is better than I will never trust your opinion on anything ever even though I’m almost certainly, never gonna see you or hear from you again.
My grindcore band opened for this band during this era. They were a very good metal band then and all of the original members quit. I do not consider anything after this the same band.
Does anyone know how to play the lick at 5:01 I can't be bother to look up the tabs and find that specific part, on top of that the tabs being from what someone thinks it sounds like.
BurnTheMoon dude I feel your pain I have been practicing this song for years now and the tabs are always incorrect because it's two guitars layered, and the tab writer is hearing them as one
REAL UNDEROATH...
Straight up

TheStrangeSquid. It's been three years since your comment, have you forgotten this song again? hahaha

I dig old Underoath too, but... were they supposed to play stuff like this the rest of their lives?
@@GreggValue they should of. Cause then they went to shit in all instruments and the vocals

Omg the drums and guitar is amazing in this 😍
Good shit for sure 👍
Holy fuck, that brought tears to my eyes. I love the older Underoath more than I do the new, but I still have respect for the new.
I have zero respect for the new.
There is so much about the resurrection and so much on what happens when you by faith
the ending with the angels is all i really want, lift me from this plain when thy will is complete

Great song!
Bands like UnderOath make me feel proud to be Christian
steveo8178 As a non christian Christian i find this comment offensive
Christian Dominguez LMAO
bands like this make me want to become Christian.......again.
Almost.
Except when such bands become secular atheists 4 albums later.
