Glad you are still around. Just picked up a barn find 94 PC800. It sat neglected for 12 years so there is allot to go through. It starts if fed fuel through the throats. Carb rebuilds are a must. Bike is stripped of plastics to reconditioned and repair. Lost of work. Started a thread on the tapatalk pc800 forum to follow along with the restore. Plus considering starting my own RUclips channel. No experience and full time job so dont know that I'll post much content. Keep the videos coming this is awesome there is not a lot of content for these bikes on RUclips so every video is awesome.
ok. yeah if it wont run at all carbs out is on your plate make sure the vacuum fuel valve is working.. you can drain and flush the float bowls with the carbs in... and run a bunch of spray cleaner through them too... make sure there isnt any gunk in your tank.. thats a long time sitting. any rust is an indication to remove, clean, etch, and coat your tank. No bike will ever run right with rust in the fuel..and no filter will get it out.
Just bought a 89 PC800 ..Beautiful bike 1 owner 28,000 mi. The previous owner did park it over a covered shed but on dirt ground .soooo now I have rust underneath. I need advise...my muffler is loud because there are rusted holes in the rear part of muffler. How much of a pain is it to replace ??
Hi, have a 1990 and haven't been riding over 1.5 yr now, decided to check the spark plugs and air filter. Replaced both and noticed the air filter box is not sitting right on the carbs! The front of both rubber flanges stay up! So disappointed with this stupid design! Bike is only srarts running when I control the air flow with my hand on top of the throttle holes! Should I get the carbs fully disassembled and cleaned? Also meant to add when it runs with my hand boost! it spits lightning shouts out through the exhaust. Tx
Hi! I have a 89 pc800 and lately ive done a carb rebuild, when i finished rebuilding it i started up and i noticed that from the little valve where the carbs takes fuel from, there ir a little tube facing downwards that spits a little of fuel, i dont know if there is supposed to be a hose there going down since i bought it second hand. Can you help me confirming if the hose is needed? Thank you in advance
yes of course they have. Find the PC800 owners group on line, and then look in the extensive archives, for almost any kind of repair article. I believe there is an upgrade using the stator off another Honda model. Also some info on rewinding the coils, which isn't brain surgery.
