- We're pulling my WRX Hatchback engine to get to the bottom of the cooling issue we had after its very first track debut. But I've never pulled an engine. You're probably thinking...just another Subaru headgasket problem. No...that wasn't the issue.
We're partnering up in this series with Import Image Racing to get all the right parts to fix er' up and Baltz Autosports who is guiding the process on pulling, tearing apart, and fixing this engine.

Dude i am having identical issues as you are, but with my 06 wrx. Every factor of the cooling system has been replaced. However there are bubbles in the overflow tank (clear tank) the bubbles are only apparent after driving, in no way Will they show up while idling. I have preformed every test known to man and there is no proof of a preassure leak or HG failure. I am stumped man.
Most likely you need to replace the head bolts with head studs. Heads lift under boost while driving, air gets in. The next video coming out on Tuesday addressing this exact problem!
@nolanmarketti how come when I did the HG test with the combustion detection kit AFTER driving ON the overflow resivour it still shows no sign of failure?
@@lucid-hopes6217 It’s in the early stages like mine that it won’t be detected. And it’s really only happening under load/boost.
Same symptoms here. I tried multiple times with the combustion gas tester and no results.
@lucid-hopes6217 Your sure it’s not a thermostats issue too right? Your lower hoses are hot?
@nolanmarketti at first my lower hose stayed cold, then I boil tested my thermostat and put it back in, then the lower hose got hot
