Fast CSX and Amtrak in Amsterdam, and an NS heading home - February 8 and 9, 2020 in Upstate NY

This year's birthday outing, while about a week and a half belated, much resembled that of the year prior, finding us five hours northeast in Amsterdam, New York, starting early on the crisp morning of the 8th with temperatures topping at twenty in the afternoon and dipping into the single-digits as night fell. We were accompanied by other railfans on location, some being familiar faces from National Train Day, and others being new friends. This time around, we were finally smart enough to get a room up there, alleviating the need to head out earlier or get home in the wee hours of the morning. This enabled us to stay later in the night and head home in daylight. It just so happened that our path home late in the morning on the 9th coincided with a southbound freight on the old D&H for quite a few miles, so we were able to catch it in numerous spots until our paths diverged in Sanitaria Springs.

Nice video! The maximum authorized speed for the Mohawk subdivision (according to the timetable) is 60 MPH. The only locations were CSXT goes above 60 MPH is on the A-Line in Florida or Georgia.
