    13:42 the 3rd droid is called a C unit, that specific one is called chopper and hes an adorable little menace from star wars rebels :) hes also kinda a war criminal with the highest kill count of any starwars droid, actually more than even boba fett and IG-11 combined

      We used to do them once a week. We've talked about doing more again, but our schedule at home hasn't given us much opportunity for them lately. Perhaps once the school year begins again and our routine is more consistent we'll be able to come up with a more predictable time slot for them.
      That being said, we might still do one again here at some point in the summer. We'll announce it plenty enough ahead of time.

    Could you do a video covering ALL the dinning packages offered in one video and exactly how they work and where to find them? It seems like some of them you have to know what time to book to be able to ask for a seat as they aren’t offered as packages in the Disney app.. it’s all very confusing this would make a great video!

    Great vlog! You were so lucky at Oga’s Cantina. Was so crowded when we arrived for our 9:30am reservation in May that we could barely move around and we were sat facing a concrete wall! Waited till someone left to snag a seat where we could actually watch the “goings on”. Not impressed by the amount of people crammed in or the food - had the pretzel bread and a couple of mock tails - expensive for what it was. Shame that you have to make a reservation and feel the obligation to order food and drink just to have a look inside. We stayed for 20 minutes max. Wouldn’t bother again.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад +1

      I was only there for maybe 10-15 minutes. But I totally feel the “obligation” thing. Like I only wanted one drink, but I got two so it wasn’t such a pitiful bill/tip for the person making my drinks.

    What’s the best thing to rope drop in DL park?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад +1

      Space Mountain or Indiana Jones I would say.
      I haven’t kept an eye on it lately, but I think the rope drop crowds for Mickey and Minnie’s might have died down a bit. It might be a good option as well.
      When it first opened, it was a solid “avoid” but I think it’s getting better.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад +1

      Rise is not open for early entry. Only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.
      So you could try to go for Rise at 8 as you’ll be a bit closer than everyone else, but it might still be a mad dash to get there.

    Love this video! Saving to take notes and show the kids closer to our trip. Curious if there’s a good option to see the queues/pre shows for kids who don’t want to ride the actual ride but love Star Wars? We’re new to DL but did this a lot at Universal - part of our party would wait in the child swap area. Does that work at DL?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад

      Disneyland does not have a child swap area. But you should still be able to leave most rides through an exit if you ask.
      This might not be possible with Rise of the Resistance because of how immersive it is. Exiting the attraction at the point of getting on the ride requires a lot of backstage access. I’ve exited this way before when the ride broke. They definitely don’t want guests going through this normally.

    Hi does Smugglers Run cause motion sickness

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад +1

      It can. My wife has to close her eyes on the jump to hyperspace. The motion doesn’t bother her, but there’s something about the special effects coupled with motion in that one instance that sets her off. Otherwise, she’s fine on the rest of the ride.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 месяца назад

      Not too terribly long. Though depends on your goals. There’s only two rides. But if you’re planning to hang out at Oga’s or get some food, pay for Savi’s Workshop. It really depends.
      But for the average family just showing up to ride rides and grab a Ronto Wrap you’ll spend as long in the land as the rides are long plus 15-25 minutes.

    • @sophiadoll4793
      @sophiadoll4793 2 месяца назад

      @@SoCalDisneyDad I definitely want to spend some time there. I may not come back to the park for a very long time. So i wanna maximize the amount of stuff I do in the park. Thanks for all the tips and tricks you mention in your videos.

      @SoCalDisneyDad  2 месяца назад +1

      @@sophiadoll4793 Then definitely plan to go to Oga’s, that’ll be about 45 minutes.
      And if you do Savi’s, that takes about 45 minutes as well.
      Poking around shops could take another 45 minutes if you’re really thorough and love to shop as there’s a lot of stores.

  • @merob9432
    @merob9432 Месяц назад

    This looks to be a small land, a day would do it?

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Месяц назад

      @@merob9432 You don’t even need a whole day there. You can ride both rides in 2-3 hours during the busy season. Some times of the year you could ride them both in an hour.
      Oga’s Cantina takes maybe an hour. And if you poked around every shop slowly it would add maybe another hour.
      During slower times of the year you could be done with this land before Noon, and that’s taking your time and poking in every corner.
      Now, if you add Savi’s and the Droid Depot, it will take another 2 hours on top of that.
      Even so, I doubt you’d spend 8 AM to 8 PM in this land alone. I’d say 8 AM to 2 PM at most for the most die hard Star Wars fans.

    Don't rope drop rise? I disagree. Why would you have someone pay cash to ride with the sky rocket ticket prices for disneyland. We were just there and definitely rope drop rise. We got there at 810 and the line steady moved.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад +2

      It’s a tip I frequently share on the channel. If you rope drop Rise you lose the Golden Hour. You’re stuck in line during the best time to be riding OTHER rides.
      You could ride Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain, and Space Mountain all in the first hour the park is open. Later, those rides each have 50-60 minute waits.
      So you save 2 hours if you ride them first.
      On the other hand, Rise routinely has a SHORTER wait at 9 AM than it does at 8 AM because of how many people run over there to rope drop it. (I know this from personally tracking wait times every day for two weeks straight)
      So you’ll actually wait less for Rise AND have gotten to ride 3 other major rides first if you follow my strategy instead.

    • @eightventures
      @eightventures Год назад

      @SoCalDisneyDad we went on the 20th. Of June. We rope dropped rise. It ended up being closed and we rope dropped Indiana Jones ND big thunder. End of story the next day we rope dropped rise and ended up doing big thunder and Indians Jones. It's just crazy how the park works
