Hi Coach, can you make a Vid about translating from Practice into games? I always ball out in practice but only go like 3-10 in games
@@user-sz1vt9gv1k Stop thinking so much, just keep playing. My scoring average went from 8 to 16 by just changing my mentality
Been knocking down over %40 of my 3s
Do you have any ways for me to move the drills I do in training into game moves because what I do in training is better than my games
Coach- phrank mckinney was my assistant coach and good friend. He always wanted to introduce us. RIP our boy. Pat Kosta
I’ve never seen a girl that skilled at that age. She’s on another level.

Nobody gonna talk about how she makes all in one go?
Ha Jiggy is one of the most talented young players on the planet right now- haha, unreal to say, but if you've seen her play before, you likely aren't surprised she doesn't miss in his video LOL. But honestly, I didn't even notice! Good eye Alvin! What I love about her game though is how she consistently asks Coach Phil for CLARITY. She's not afraid to make sure she's doing exactly what Coach Phil asks her to do. That's one of the reasons she's such a great player.
@@ILB Yes. Seen her in last few videos. Everytimes you guys uploaded any workout videos, I would imagine myself in that state to remind yall human as well when you guys miss and it motivated me to practice hard. Then a wild Jiggy appeared...
Isnt that hard
@@ILB i thought it is mikey Williams or jah jackson
@@tinezakotnik15 frrr. It takes a certain amount of practice to not miss any shots within that range
Jiggy was 39/40. She did that whole drill & made them all but one. I have never seen talent like that before.

This was really helpful! I just started playing after decades off and will add these drills in my training. Thanks!
Let's go! You got it Danielle!
I like how he has a reason for everything and it was a great drill.
Yep! No wasted time. Everything Coach Phil shares during training has purpose!
I practiced these drills when i head down to the court and my shots have improved so much. Thanks for the tips!!
Great video. Need to show this to my team. I gave them an easy shooting regimen nearly identical to this but I think they respect RUclips more than coach’s voice. I’ll be using this tomorrow! Thank you
Great stuff coach! Played ball in the 80s and 90s game has evolved so much since then. So I'm having to relearn the game all over again! But your vids have helped tremendously!
I love it Darrell! Let's go!
The game is not to be relearned... shooting style is still the same lol... It just got more accurate... People got smaller lol
Hey, I am single mom, using your videos to help my 13 year old son get better at basketball. He is currently playing AAU and has been told that he is inconsistent with his shot and defense. We’re hoping this helps. Nationals are in a few weeks! Thank you for your content🙌💪🏽

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos I’m trying to teach my daughter basketball she’s trying to make the school team. The good thing is you have your granddaughter so that helps me with my daughter not just showing videos of boys. And how good she can become if she puts in the time
I’m. 28 and these videos always help me get motivated while I’m in my journey to getting into shape
Training really well explained, practical and to the point. Thanks Coach
*Thank u very much and good luck ILB !* 💖
Thanks so much FAM! Appreciate you!
Coach, with the form shooting, how important is concentration i.e., sensing the foundation, the high of the ball, fixing eyes on point of reference, front of rim, center or back of hoop, proper arm position, and down and up flow. This is the first time I see a form shooting so quick. What entails form shooting, in other words? Thanks to all of you for all the hard work you do for us to teach us. I am 64 and still balling!
At the beginning- it's VERY important to really concentrate on your form- especially during these warm up style drills that are meant to quickly drill your shot!
Saying that- over time it becomes more natural and less "thinking", but it's always good to think about your shot after you shoot and "check the boxes" in your head to make sure you're using good form...
Or to take mental notes when you feel something is "off".
I recommend also filming your form shooting! Sometimes what you "feel" may not match what you're doing- and an outside view can help with that.
Love the fact you're still out there ANNND working to get better Jose!
Now your turn! What's YOUR secret to still balling at 64?!
@@ILB Just the love for movement and agitation, and more importantly, the mystery and it's challenges, physically and mentally.
jose Sandoval, you don't shoot at the front of the rim, or the back, or the middle. You take your shot so you are directly opposite one of the "net hangers" below the rim. You shoot at the bottom of the hanger where the net meets the metal. That way, you will make more shots & your shots will make that Duke Basketball swish. More around the hoop at the same distance & always aim at the bottom of the net hanger furthest from you.
Such a useful drill that I'll definitely be doing to improve my shot accuracy, thanks
Kobe once walked in The Ellen Show, she asked him to shoot a 3 pointer. He stood there for like 5 seconds, then made it. Amidst those 5 seconds, I was like.. what if this dude misses. 💀. But nah he didn't. NOW you know why.
haha YES
I love jiggy
you sure developed her real good as a shooter and ball handling... great instructions coach
This guy teaches me a lot just by looking at his videos a true professor at his craft.
I'm 45 and gettting back into hooping and I'm realizing I have lost alot from when I used to play all the time. Thanks for these vids bcus I feel like I'm starting from the ground up.
Thanks for these videos coach.
It was pleasure seeing you in Atlanta and seeing your warm up with Lakers players. Thanks for making these videos.
It's great that my kids can see real successful coaches showing them what to do.

My son and I watch your videos frequently! I watch it as much as possible! You are fantastic! We enjoy it and learn a lot. Hope to meet you in the future!
Thanks for teaching the basics even at the pro level. Why is it that players come in the gym and start launching 3's? Drives me crazy. Coachable players at any level makes coaching so much easier. Seems like Jiggy has a high basketball IQ.
first comment on RUclips, this channel is really helpful, I played 30 yrs, never had a formal training.
The shooting Fundamentals this girl has are Awesome...Form is so consistent 🔥
i’m 18 years old and becoming a basketball coach at a middle school boys and girls club. thank you for this

I naturally just started doing the 1st drill a few weeks ago then I come here to find tips on better shooting n see this 🤯🤯
Thanks Phil. I would have liked to hear what you would say to a beginner (teaching points) for form shooting.
I feel like she already had good form.
There's always next time! We'll talk to Coach Phil soon, he's eager to get in the gym and create some more content for you guys when his schedule allows! He LOVES helping players.
I'll ask him this as well as see about a video!

Very helpful for beginners - kids and adults both
Great with my daughter's game,....easy simple and explained well,...thx
Going to have my son do this as his daily warm up. Thanks Coach!!
Thanks for the video, an excellent daily warm up.
Let's go! So glad to hear that Yamil!
So simple yet effective. Thanks coach!
Great vid, the one thing I've taken from all his videos is activate your feet that's make a big difference in everything you do on the court.
That includes shooting, rebounding, dribbling, catching the ball in the post. It's give better control of the ball dribbling, and you don't caught flat footed in other areas.
Great job coach Phil. Keep them coming. You're a great help.
Yo these channel on another level like idk why i havent watch this channel's vids

Great video! Appreciate any videos to train the right arc angle with younger youth athletes.
Not even gon cap jiggy would sauce me😂 she rlly official
Trying to teach my young daughters. Your videos are truly helpful. Thank you.
thanks coach , new to handling a team and i am using your video teaching for my new kids.
thanks
Appreciate what you're doing coach. Look forward to hearing more about your growth as a coach and how your team improves!
Your videos are truly helpful but I got 2 questions coach. What can I do to REALLY improve my ball control, sometimes when I’m dribbling and doing dribble moves I fumble the ball, like it will keep hitting the bottom of my hand and not stay on my finger pads? I assumed maybe it’s because I had weak wrists but I am getting them stronger. Also sometimes when I am shooting and I go to bring the ball up, I tend to skim my nose with ball which means I’m bringing it to close to my face, an issue I can’t seem to correct. Thank you.
Great questions JT! For shooting, I want you to check out a couple videos: ruclips.net/video/Kihc0OOM8DU/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/nuiPr66rCcw/видео.html
For your handle: ruclips.net/video/NCHxsar6ZNA/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/NCHxsar6ZNA/видео.html&list=RDCMUCgP1mu1UXba9r2owhCHo--g&index=1
These will help you work on both areas of improvement. For your handles man- focus on the foundation, and continue to strengthen your wrists/hands for sure as well
@@ILB Thank you, much appreciated.
Great workout as always coach!
Much love Max! Let's go!
My backyard finished after a couple of weeks getting back into it happy to be back and learn from the best
Let's go man! Welcome back!
Nice work here. Be letting my team do this before every game. Thanks!
Great shooting!
Thanks coach I plan on doing some coaching next season, HS and MS level so I'm taking notes can keeping these videos, appreciate you sir.
This is good, its actually amazing and I am proud to say I do it every time I play basketball. Thing is though, when we're doing form shots were lifting our heel to generate power, but when were further extended we have to jump (jump -shot) that messes with me which I don't understand why. When I jump and shoot I have to get used to different mechanics and switch up how much power I add whereas form shots I don't gotta jump so...That is what I need help with
Good vid coach!!! FAQ for you… What “target” on the rim jiggy is looking at? She has good touch. I was always taught to aim at the back of the rim. Some aim at the center and some aim at the top of the three net loops ✌🏾🏀🏀🏀
She's a friggin pro
I think this simple and best daily warm up👍😉
Agreed! So good for you!
Yeah 😇
Fantastic! Bravo! Thank you!
I never used to " find my range" the way he described and often would get to the court and just start dropping 3's eventho i was inconsistent and didnt know why. Considering how i shoot ( i have a weird self created shot that looks similar to jokic's form but even further back with the ball basically launching from right behind my head. The thing is i also have a very high arcing shot. These factors also influenced how consistent i was. But finding range at the start really changed a lot. Same thing with adapting how far back the ball gets cocked behind my head depending on how far from the rim i am. So inside the arc it would be at my forehead and launch in a more direct path to the rim , while outside the 3 line i would cock back fully till behind my head and make that ball kiss the moon before coming back down. ( What i like most about my arc shots is the ones i make barely even touch anything while coming down and it feels like pure perfection. )
I like the warm up I wish I had a training like that to work on my shot 🥺
Working with a little dribblers team. This was big time helpful.
She watches steph currys form ALOT. Very good job young lady.
Your daughter is a really good ball player and your video helped me out a lot

Just... wow... I think I'll stop trying and switch to bingo or so. Kudos to that performance
Really great drill, will do that to improve my shooting.
I love the grind of getting better, it drives me.
Good coaching and I love the clarification questions she asked - thinking it through.
I’ve got a problem with my feet when I shoot 3s , I always put my right foot in front and I step the line , pls if someone knows any drill to help me have more balance I would love it thank you btw the vid was super helpful thank you
Hey man, this is a common problem as players step into their shot. I'd make sure to try and be conscious of giving yourself extra room. Over time it'll become more natural. I'll see if one of our Coaches can give you an indepth answer though
Yea, I usually make my shots by matching my left foot a lil over my right keeping my hips low and left behind my right go in bout 90% of the time
Just shoot further
My problem is I don't really jump when I shoot, but I'm still overall pretty good when it comes to shooting. I've tried fixing this, but it's hard to cause I'm so used to shooting this way.
Great video clip for coaching middle school girls.
Thank you.
Loved it! Using it Saturday. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Coach. Also her form was what i was searching for as well.
Coach, I also coach and train girls aau program and private lessons. The training with Jiggy how she responds and how good her form is I actually use to show my girls teams and lessons. Thanks big time!
Thanks Phil, always watching n learning
Good job coach, I'm training 10 girls today on shooting skills, just watched this and this will help them learn to become better shooters
nice shooting drills.
very simple
benefits a lot...
Excellent exercise to improve as a shooter.
I'm just a gym player, but I can shoot. Watching this video I noticed several grotesque omissions. I'll list a few: 1) Don't just aim for the back of the rim; instead, aim for the curved metal net hangers which are welded onto the rim, 2) Shoot from the same distance 10 times/game. 3) Just draw a circle around the bucket from your best distance & shoot around that circle 10x/game. 4) If you are right-handed, sight the ball so that your right middle finger, your eye, & your target are in line. 5) Do not level your head, tilt it back. The feeling is that your head is intuitively mirroring the arc of the shot. 6) Don't wave your right hand; rather, the hand and wrist make a motion as if you were pouring the ball into the hoop, and 7) when you're in close don't shoot line drives, shoot the ball on a higher arc than your normal free throw. I'm 6'2" but I jump like I'm 5'9" & I run like I'm lame, but the guys let me play because I can shoot.
thanks coach phil...its a good work out...LAKERS All the WAY
