Perfect timing! I just bought mine from you yesterday at the Expo (sorry, I interrupted your end of day beverage) and am getting ready to install them. Thank you.
@@canyonadventurevans Agree, this is a fairly easy install. Although I butchered the Passenger side when my blade broke...... But really install time should be increased to closer to 3 hours to include the at least 1 trip to HomeDepot etc for that 1 (or was it 2) things you didn't have.... And despite my lack of craftsmanship...They work great! Thanks!
@@larryheiny5287 Happy to hear you got it figured out Larry! Working on putting together a more detailed install video as it seems some people are having trouble.
@@canyonadventurevans Good idea! Suggest clarification of the location of the Van side "strut ball receiver" in the bracket (I had to watch a couple of times before I realized where it goes) as well as how to locate the bracket on the threshold to cut. Also I'd suggest a cardboard or paper template in the future to make the cutting and drilling a bit clearer for us barely competent DIYers! It's a good idea and product. I've been slammed in the back by the doors many times. This should stop or reduce that from happening.
Any reason you don't just drill 3 holes in the plastic instead of cutting out the whole corner sections of it? Seems it would just have further support from the bottom. I saw the plate moving on a couple of installs I saw at the AVE San Juan. I will try that out and let you know how it goes.
Hey Raju, we found in our testing that drilling 3 holes through the plastic, while it can work, is just a less reliable way to install the rivnuts. If something goes wrong and your rivnut starts spinning or you have to drill it out, it's a much bigger hassle.
Mine just arrived today. The instructions are pretty bad in certain parts of the video. The camera guy was too far away and it was hard to understand what you were showing. Please include close up shots next time and/or written instructions with close up photos.
Thank you for the feedback! We'll work on getting out a new one that has clearer instruction. If you have any questions about the install fell free to call or email us and we'll walk you through it!
Hey Jon, we just tested them the other day on a 2018 and with the current kit it seems only the passenger side works. We'll have to figure something out for the Driver's side for a future kit.
If you do not have a riv nut tool, yes you need one, here's the one we recommend: www.amazon.com/WETOLS-Rivet-Metric-Mandrels-Rivnuts/dp/B081GDRTXP/ref=asc_df_B081GDRTXP/?tag=&linkCode=df0&hvadid=385178051407&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10372717444443885069&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031148&hvtargid=pla-847277626291&mcid=b5ac282d72ee34c1b12a04809d437b7b&ref=&adgrpid=78533818717&gclid=CjwKCAjwoPOwBhAeEiwAJuXRhy1jiaTFVhlR7wtCjLTSnpB9aEOoVA_jS8Z3i2qR_mzsAEP9u6mWZBoCyZAQAvD_BwE&th=1
Jason mentions it in the video, you can disengage the struts by removing a pin and then taking the strut off the door. Pretty simple process, just need to make sure you don't lose the little pin.

No worries! Happy you were able to get your struts. Let us know if you have any trouble with your install!

Wish I could grow the van from the door struts ... 😂🤣🤗😎
These work with our slide out decks so you could absolutely grow your van from the door struts 😉

My kit came with 2 driver side brackets and no passenger side bracket. Not really sure what to do next...
Sorry about that, send an email to info@canyonadventurevans.com with your order # and we'll get you your missing brackets!
I’ve got a 2019 revel which is a 2018
Sprinter will this fit. Your web site says 2019+.

Any plans for the transit? :)
Absolutely! Planning on expanding to other van platforms asap.
So do I need the riv nut tool or not? That’s about as clear as mud. 😂

What if you want your doors open all the way?

Can't wait to get them and install them!!! 🚐
Stoked for these to get out in the wild! Let us know if you have any trouble with the install!
