There's a reason in the music business they tell ya to NEVER believe what your 'friends and family' (On RUclips as well?) tell you about your song stuff. NBT is kickin' out some bad ass tunes/music/melody, but to be objectively honest they need to slam on the brakes until they get a LYRICIST and VIDEOGRAPHER. Otherwise, these great tunes will have a very short and forgettable shelf life
@@Pinkpalmpuff332 I think music can be assessed not just on the basis of shelf life, or focusing on every song or album being a masterpiece. Music is an art form, and just like any artist, a band that consists of singers, songwriters, and melodists has the right to document their journey through creating + life. If the songs resonate with audiences NOW then that has value regardless if the songs keep being played 20 years from now. Also the video/visuals are in tune with the music/themes and I’m sure they have a great team of videographers, graphic designers, motion designers etc. if you don’t like the music it’s okay to say “it’s not my type of music, pass” but it gets iffy when you try to pass on an opinion as objectivity especially when art is subjective as hell.

I love that it goes from Billie Eilish and Nine Inch Nails to Muse, Marilyn Manson, and Queens of the Stone Age. It's a whole bunch of songs and sounds rolled into one. It's so cool!

For some reason that part always sounds dirty to me lol
The way Conor's voice alters to match each chapter of the song is brilliantly executed. He can start off really low on the scale and turn into a fantastic rock singer in a click of the finger. Great musicians with extraordinary attention to detail.
The lyrics are genuinely beautiful and also the song is a cycle. Firstly by the theme of internet, or hotel or the line with feeling and healing who come back often but also:

Wow! It's like three songs in one, with three different singers. I'm always so impressed with Conor's range of style, especially when it's in one song. And such fantastic riffs and rhythms, and the way it builds momentum and intensity... I LOVE IT! "Expect the unexpected" is right!

To be fair, they seem to be getting the recognition, look at how many listeners they currently have (on spotify at least,) almost 3 mil, that's more than Biffy, Hunna, Blossoms, rattlesnakes, slaves, idles, amd and by a lot more in most of those cases, clearly a lot of people loving this band rn, I remember around the time broken machine came out they were below a mil in listeners
I would definitely give them the award of album of the year if it wasnt for the strokes album "the new abnormal" - because that's a pretty damn good album.

Aside from last year's release of Tool's Fear Inoculum, I haven't bought music on physical media in well over a decade. I just ordered this album on CD and vinyl. If this is the apocalypse, at least I can still listen to this album when it all comes crashing down. It's insane how much they continue to improve as a band as their library of music continues to grow. Phobia is definitely my favorite so far. Time to listen to the rest of this damn thing!

That western inspired guitar before the transition is one of my fav things about this song, besides the lyrics and the change ups. That guitar sound just hits different.
“I get the rage, so live in hope,” is just everything. I love a band that has every instrument be really well done and have its moments in the sun, along with stellar vocals, along with really gripping lyrics. Hence my love of NBT. They’re on the wedding playlist, for whatever postplague world we stumble out into in a few years. 🤞🏻

This is a slow burn. It took me a few listens to really digest it and now I love it.

I love the feeling when I find a song that produces some amazing dopamine loads in my brain from the very first listen
This song is reeeaalllyy growing on me. It's a slow-burn for sure, but when it catches fire, boy does it catch fire. The more I listen to this, the more I feel that Muse-vibe, which is obviously a compliment. I LOVE songs that constantly transition throughout, and this really does that for me. Really well done!
