Mr. Kay, I am pleased that you like my tutorials. Yes indeed for each video there is lots of efforts. Very few such as yourself know this. first of all battery capacity and charge parameters are the most tricky part of working with them. The charge current is determined by the manufacturer of the battery. charging above the rated current will reduce the battery life. So you have to find the datasheet. for example for the Panasonic battery shown in video here is the datasheet www.batteryspace.com/prod-specs/NCR18650B.pdf and it says the the standard charge should be about 16550mA. or lower. I have spoken about battery protection in this video ruclips.net/video/3dwA8A8VrrE/видео.html so generally for less than 10Ah batteries, always go 0.5 of capacity or lower to protect it.

hi, thanks for the explanation. Can this charge and discharge the batteries at the same time ? in tp4056, we could use B+/B- to connect to batteries and out+/out- to a consuming device
Hi I was hoping to find a small form factor pcb/charger for safe charging a 7.4v 4000mah battery I was hoping to use in a Raspberry Pi 2w zero project. I saw your youtube video on charging circuits and thought you might have a good suggestion? Thank you!
Ahmed bro can I use tp5100 for drilling machine. I want to replace 2 lithium batteries and same time I want to replace bms also do u think it will work...
It doesn’t matter where you use it. I have shown voltage and maximum current. If you application need equal or less than the current and voltage is the same, then yes you can use it.
I want to replace a 9 volt battery with a 18650 pack. I'm wondering if I should use 2-3 18650 batteries in series? Should I use a single 18650 and a boost board? Or maybe two parallel 18650 batteries and a boost board for more capacity? I want to leave the battery in circuit with charger connected. Thus, I want a circuit that safely protects from over-charge or under-discharge. Do you recommend parallel charging 18650's? Thanks for any help.
I just searched the circuit for the module you mentioned and it is exactly the same protection as shown in this video so watch this to learn how battery proteciton works ruclips.net/video/Lk__xTxLlY0/видео.html
Mr. Shamshiri, thanks you for the clear explanation. Suscribed. I would like to ask a question: is it possible to charge a Li-ion battery pack 1s2p (3,6V 5400 mAh) with this module? Thanks!
Hello, yes you do as many parallel so you like. But remember the amount of current this module supplies stays the same so the time will take longer. inf your case it will take twice as long to charge. if you use 1s3P, then the 2A from this charger will be divided to 3 and it will take 3 times as long to charge them.
Hello Ahmad! Firsty many thanks for your video. So helpful. My question is that can we use TP5100 and 2S BMS (which is connect to output) together or TP5100 is enough for charge-decharge for 2s lion batteries. Another question is can I use USB Type-C female connector to input (for 9V)
Hello, I believe I have explained it and demonstrated 1S and 2S charging. for one sell you can connect it to 5V but for 2S you need higher than 8.4V at input. But I did not understand why you would connect this module with another module. two battery is 2S already which this module can charge.
@@robojax Hello again Ahmad. Firstly many thanks for your answer. My electronic intelligence is poor. I thought that I need bms module for balanced charging between two bateries. You mean we don't need extra module, TP5100 can do that even there is no wire between two cells, right?
I have the same question as you clearly note in this video this module won't balance the 2s batteries. I came to your video for TP5100 from a HX-2S-JH20 thread that is better to use the the former for a correct charge. As another member here asks the same, would the output of TP5100 should accommodate a HX-2S-JH20 for balancing?
Hey @Robojax That was well explained. Thanks! I have a question. I am using 8.4V setup, both the 3.7V batteries are connected in series And when I charged it for about half an hour, the batteries got heated up. I stopped charging to avoid any further damage. I disconnected batteries and checked individual voltages. One was at 4.14V and the other was at 3V. Am I doing something wrong here? Is it okay to charge when batteries are at diff voltages?
Hi you are welcome. , you did not mention the capacity of the battery. I mentioned in the video that you have to limit the current. The current causes the battery to get hot and life of battery is reduced significantly. I have given example about capacity. please watch it gain.
Probably use a 2s BMS as well along with this TP5100 module. TP5100 should supply power to 2s BMS. 2s BMS should supply balanced power to 2*18650 batteries.
@@robojax Hello, As the video says, The Negative and Positive wires are connected to the S1 Battery, then You connect the wire from S1(+) to the S2(-). My Question is, What do I do with the S2(+)? Should I connect the S2(+)where the S1(+) is connected or do I leave it there?
Hello sir nice video Can i use the 5v input votage to charge S2 7.4v battery ? Or can i use the votage booster to charge it ? 5v to 12v then charge 7.4v battery
Thanks for sharing, when I charge 2 batteries in parallel ( one cell mode) I only get 4.1V on each battery and the LED changes to blue any advice. THANKS
why would be any issue. I have explained in the video that this module takes the input and either for 1 cell or for 2 cell it outputs appropriate voltage . I hope you don't want to me to type everything I said in the video. if you watch it fully, you will have no question. my videos are different than any other videos you have seen. I leave no details output.
Thanks. Yes you can if you set both voltage at exact values. Slight difference of voltage causes the current to flow from one to the other and waste the energy.
you need a power supply with contestant current or CC. Search my channel. Here is how to find Specific RUclips Video in a channel bit.ly/findRUclipsVideo
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I have a question. I am using the module to charge 2S battery. When battery reaches to 8.36 - 8.37V, the RED and BLUE LEDs are flashing alternately. What does this mean? Is there a problem?
Hi, I just added the PDF datasheet on the resources page. in page 10 in the table is says: no battery is connected or the output capacitor 10μF (issue or missing)
Kiedy masz jedno ogniwo np. 2000mAh i zostanie naładowane w 1 godzinę. Możesz połączyć 2 ogniwa równolegle, a ładowanie nastąpi w ciągu 2 godzin. jeśli połączysz równolegle 3 ogniwa, ładowanie nastąpi w ciągu 3 godzin. tak, możesz.
If I connect 5 or more lethium iron battery the module heats very quickly is there any solution is there,I also used heat sink but also it heats very quickly.
Is Bms not needed to charge my 18650 batteries with Tp5100? Or Bms still needed to charge safely all my batteries? Thank you and hopefully to get an answer from you.
this is BMS. you BMS h as protection. But can't control the current as to how much should go to your battery. this module can allow up to 2A. but if you connect a small battery with capacity of for example 500mAh and charge it with 2A, it will get damaged. So you need to connect a power source to this with controlled current (ampere). that's why connected your charger that controls the maximum current. An example of a charger would be a step down converter with constant Voltage (CV) and constant Current (CC). So you set the output of that to 8.4V (for charging two cells) and set the current to 200mA or whatever value your battery require. if allow more charge current that your batter require, battery get damaged. So find out about your battery's charge current. Good luck
Learn about battery protection from this video of mine in another channel which is all about power, charge and battery ruclips.net/video/Lk__xTxLlY0/видео.html
I believe I have tested and shown maximum current. it is in the title as well. So when you connect two cells in parallel, the maximum will be divided by 2.
Power =P, Voltage =V and Current =I, So for input P=IV=5(1)=5W, output P=8.4(1.9)=15.96W, absolutely not possible. you have $5 but you want to buy $15.9. Power never increases and not even the same. we always have losses. about 10% to 15% is lost at output Only voltage and current is changed.
Kinda bit dissapointed you havent tried connecting those in parallel to see if it gives 4A .. or tried connecting 2of those 2s in series for 4s charger.. :( Or even better I need a 7s charger.. so output voltage 29.4v Would 4 of them work combining 3 in 8.4 and one in 4.2? Or is there a diferent module that is cheaper? Can I use 7 of these in 8.4v for 58.8v e bike charger constant 2A? That would be a cheap Af solution Please let me know Edit: also. In theory if the charger can charge 8.4v at 2A it's 16.8W of power. This means this charger could be modified to charge 4A 4.2v cell? With those resistors? Please test this for us. I highly appriciate your work
Parallel is not a good idea but it work. why not good idea? over time modules change the output voltage a little. that little variation in voltage causes the current to flow from ONE into the OHTHER and that is waste of energy. Very few like less than 0.1% of people will configure this for higher current.

Thanks for sharing knowledge!
My pleasure!.
@@robojax thank you brother.. I will try.. jazakallah.. and I did subscribe u r channel also..
Can use 12V or 9V ?
Can I use transformer of voltage input?
No. It needs DC voltage.
Hi Great Video, Have you reviewed hx-2s-d01 module ?
Hi, I have over 450 videos and almost forgot what I have done. Here is how to find Specific RUclips Video in a channel bit.ly/findRUclipsVideo
just saw it on Google and NO. I have not done. it.
I just searched the circuit for the module you mentioned and it is exactly the same protection as shown in this video so watch this to learn how battery proteciton works ruclips.net/video/Lk__xTxLlY0/видео.html
Thank you .very useful
Can 5-18 volt applied directly to th input?
Can i use this to charge using 5v powersupply to series 3.7v battery?
sorry I did not understand. may be you did not watch the video fully. did you? for one cell it needs 5V input. for 2S it needs at least 8.4V at input.
Hello! Can I use bms with my 2s batt with this lithium charger?
no. if you watch it, I've explained that it separate wires for charge and separate wires for load.
Limiting the charging current like in tp4056 R3 resistor. Is it possible in tp5100?
Yea you can. See datasheet the way I explained it voltiq.ru/datasheets/TP5100-datashhet.pdf?darkschemeovr=1
Can i use it with an BMS 2S?
there tones of BMS. test it.
Hi... The circuit does not have any output for balancing the two-cell battery pack. How does the balancing work?
Hi, there is no balacing.
@@robojax Thanks very much!
As another member here asks the same, would the output of TP5100 should accommodate a HX-2S-JH20 for balancing?
buddy u are right...u need a 2S BMS to protect and charge batteries indivually...
Sir for 2s battery charge can we use 9v as the input voltage of tp5100 PLZ REPLY 🙏🙏
I have no questions if you watch it. So please watch
@@robojax I have watched your full video but just for confirmation 😜
can you explain about "power-on" feature please?
What do you mean? There should nothing left without explaining for this module
Well explained.
Can this module be connected in parallel, so that the charging current can be above 2 amperes?
Yea it can.
@@robojax Then, is it fine to charge 2x 18650 battery (in series) with 4 amps of current?
it is very tricky. don't use it in parallel or series. get different module.
Hey @Robojax
That was well explained. Thanks!
I have a question. I am using 8.4V setup, both the 3.7V batteries are connected in series
And when I charged it for about half an hour, the batteries got heated up.
My Question is,
What do I do with the S2(+)?
Should I connect the S2(+)where the S1(+) is connected or do I leave it there?

Hello sir nice video
Can i use the 5v input votage to charge S2 7.4v battery ?
Or can i use the votage booster to charge it ?
5v to 12v then charge 7.4v battery
I need to know also..
Thanks for sharing, when I charge 2 batteries in parallel ( one cell mode) I only get 4.1V on each battery and the LED changes to blue any advice. THANKS
That is correct. When you connect in parallel, the voltage does not increase. Only charge time increases
@@robojax I was expecting 4.2V on each battery
Thanks

What is the input voltage and its source?
Hey, can I use micro_usb for power supply ?
Yes you can, because USB is 5v you won’t be snake to change 2 cells
Thanks for replying.. I am interested in charging a single 3.7v lipo battery . Won't there be any issues right ?
why would be any issue. I have explained in the video that this module takes the input and either for 1 cell or for 2 cell it outputs appropriate voltage . I hope you don't want to me to type everything I said in the video. if you watch it fully, you will have no question. my videos are different than any other videos you have seen. I leave no details output.

Can I use two chips in parallel to get max current upto 3Amp ? Awesome video
Thanks. Yes you can if you set both voltage at exact values. Slight difference of voltage causes the current to flow from one to the other and waste the energy.
Hello! What would happen if I use a 12v solar panel instead of a 12v dc outlet? Would it be efficient?? Thanks!
Voltage is voltage. does not mater where it comes from.
Thank you good 👍👍👍
if input 5v 1amp than output8.4v what is amper? i want to run modem 9v 100ampare tanda?
How do we limit the charge current to say 1A maximum?
you need a power supply with contestant current or CC.
Czy można ładować tym dwa ogniwa równolegle.?
Kiedy masz jedno ogniwo np. 2000mAh i zostanie naładowane w 1 godzinę. Możesz połączyć 2 ogniwa równolegle, a ładowanie nastąpi w ciągu 2 godzin. jeśli połączysz równolegle 3 ogniwa, ładowanie nastąpi w ciągu 3 godzin. tak, możesz.
@@robojax dziękuję. To chciałem wiedzieć. Pozdrawiam. Wszystkiego dobrego.
Can i use this on 32650 Lipo4 3.2v?
32659 is just physical size. Village is the same. Yes
How much Amps cells can charge at once (In parallel) ?
I believe I have tested and shown maximum current. it is in the title as well. So when you connect two cells in parallel, the maximum will be divided by 2.
Will the amount of current source affect the output current? Say if my power source is 5v 1A, will the output still be 8.4v 1.9A?
Power =P, Voltage =V and Current =I, So for input P=IV=5(1)=5W, output P=8.4(1.9)=15.96W, absolutely not possible. you have $5 but you want to buy $15.9. Power never increases and not even the same. we always have losses. about 10% to 15% is lost at output Only voltage and current is changed.
Can we charge 2s battery with 5v, or only 1s can be charged with 5v?
You have not watched the video. Please watch to get your answer
what is charging time been 3 hrs still red led its charging
Do you know any cheap 2s (8.4V) charger powered (input) max 24V-25V?
you can't get such a thing. you need to get Step down converter and put it before this charger.
@@robojax ok, that's what I thought
CS is "Chip Select" (as in "on"), not "Charge Select". Thanks for the video.
You may right. Thanks
Kinda bit dissapointed you havent tried connecting those in parallel to see if it gives 4A .. or tried connecting 2of those 2s in series for 4s charger.. :(
Or even better I need a 7s charger.. so output voltage 29.4v
Would 4 of them work combining 3 in 8.4 and one in 4.2? Or is there a diferent module that is cheaper?
Can I use 7 of these in 8.4v for 58.8v e bike charger constant 2A?
That would be a cheap Af solution
Please let me know
Edit: also.
@@robojax but is it possle for high current?
