Amazing how traditional grip players get great finger control with left hand (right hand players) thanks for this lesson I’ll implement your advice as a match grip player.
Hello Danny! Wow, 20 years ago. I remember your name, but not sure where I taught you. Was it Drummer's Choice in Brampton, Merriem School of Music, or private? Looking forward to your reply. Cheers!
@@WholeLottaDrumming Drummers Choice in Brampton! from about 1998 to 2001 or so! I haven't played in forever, but you set me up for college with some great books and a mindset about planning for the future. I'm forever grateful to you sir.
Hi Marco, good to see you back ! Enjoy your vids and thanks for uploading them . With left hand traditional grip , when you use fulcrum plus second/third fingers , is it really the thumb that’s doing all the work with the second/third fingers just resting on the stick ? Or are you using the fingers to push the stick down by themselves or together with the thumb ? Cheers from Sydney
Hello Loris. Thanks for chiming in! The bottom of the thumb and the fingers work together somewhat equally. One thing that i did not mention is that the stick rests on the 4th finger while the the thumb and fingers do their thing. The 4th finger acts as a spring board helping the stick return up. Hope that helps! Cheers!
Hi Marco , thanks for getting back . Not sure what you mean by the 4th finger springboard because you say to move it and the pinky out of the way when you are isolating doing finger control with thumb and 2nd/3rd fingers ? Thanks again cheers
Awesome exercise! Thank you :) Edit: I find it helpful and fun to play music while I practice on the pad. Then apply the technique to the groove when I feel comfortable with the exercise :)
Thanks Marco! Great pointers but I've had thumb surgery on my left thumb so my left is really weak now. Will build up strength and try all your exercises real soon.
I learn a lot on your lesson, SIR Marco , God bless you More. Thanks.
Thanks for watching and for your support!

@@lorisf3882 I was referring to when you are just playing in general that the fourth finger is a springboard. Not when you are doing the exercise.
thanks for that , look forward to your next vid cheers
