Hunting Murrays Beach, Stewart Island

- This was my first trip to Stewart Island, we spent most of our time chasing whitetail deer with a bit of exploring, fishing etc to mix things up a bit.
Murrays Beach is a hunting block on the North East of the island.
Awesome vid. Unreal encounter shooting a couple whitetail like that! Just after you mention the noisey apple you can hear a whitetail buck grunt.
Bloody cool. My Dads been wanting to do a Stewart Island trip so we will have to get it done. Crack up shooting the collared cat, surely DOC would understand haha.

You did a lot better than an entire Inf Coy. 1991 we did Ex Velvet Touch down there. 130 guys, 85 rifles for 10 days: One rat and two deer.....

It works out pretty affordable when you divide it by 6 people. Most of the cost is in transport, flights or drive to Invercargill then the charter boat or flight across the strait. Then it’s food, drinks and accommodation. All up it was about $1500pp

Its at the taxidermist now haha. I just gave it a clean up and it makes a interesting little euro mount.
